If you remember at the end of Prometheus, David wanted to go back to Earth, but Elizabeth said she wanted to go to the homeworld of the Engineers. Had they went back to Earth David would have done the same thing, released all the black goo canisters on Earth, killing everyone. So without realizing it, Elizabeth saved Earth. David didn't create the Xenomorph, or the other alien hybrids. The Engineers previously made them all, David was just following in their footsteps and recreating them. The Engineers made the "classic" Xenomorph, which you can prove by the original Alien (1979) movie, the derelict ship had crashed on hat planet thousands of years prior to Ripley and the Nostromo finding it. Thus, David didn't create the Xenomorphs, but he was on his way to recreating them had they actually finished the planned trilogy.
@evolution78652 ай бұрын
The classic bio-mechanical xenomorph we’ve all known, was not designed by the engineers . Its suggested that David did evolve and create this perfect bio -mechanical xeno, perhaps in the events that were meant to happen in the 3rd prequel if there was one to finish this story off. The engineers only ever created the decan , which we saw in the in chamber in Prometheus as a Muriel on the wall. The engineers worshiped the decans as a god like creature, for the power it gave the engineers through harnessing the black goo from them, allowing the engineers to create life , evolve life as they see fit , or destroy life ; as they had planned for the human race in Prometheus . With the bio weapon vases , which David demonstrated the power and unleashed it on the sub engineer world ( they weren’t the main engineers we see in Prometheus , but a sub category that the engineers created ; why they were waving the ship in the flash back scene , they saw the main engineers as their gods ) It’s not suggested either that engineers actauly created the decan or any of other aliens that might exist , they could of all always existed in nature and the engineers came across them millennia ago , and the engineers discovered and utilised their powerful bio. Then again there is the possibilty the engineers did create the first Decon themselves millennia ago , through perhaps some form of black goo they discovered first . However Romulus has now told us in that film, the black goo has always been harvested from facehuggers / decans . So perhaps the alien has always been around somewhere in the universe until the engineers discovered and used its bio to their advantage . Guess we won’t know the finer detail until the 3rd prequel comes out . Howvever it’s probable David did create the xeno we’ve all known in the first alien movie , Romulus and aliens , he improved and evolved his original design ; the protomorph that’s seen in covenant , that needed a human host. David just simply reverse engineered using the black goo and shaws body , to get all those different types of aliens we saw in his workshop , he just needed the final human host in the end , which he got , to produce the protomorph we saw in covenant . That protomorph is organic , not bio mechanical which is what the xeno we know as . It’s suggested at some point that he realises to make an even more aggressive perfect organism , is to make it bio- mechanical in nature . So David probably sacrifices himself. Or perhaps uses his own body parts some how and another human host ( which he has plenty of colonists to experiment on) to create the bio-mechanical xeno we all know . This must be the strain that must of facehugged the original space jockey in the chair of the original 1979 Alien…. Still need the 3rd prequel to confirm some of this though ….🙄
@ShinoNC2 ай бұрын
@evolution7865 Like I said in my post, the direlect ship from Alien 1979 was thousands of years old, the space jockey had fossilized. Alien 1979 takes place about 20 or 30yrs after covenant does. David could not have placed the facehugger eggs on said ship, unless he time traveled. Thus the biomechanical xenomorphs existed before David's intervention.
@thewerewolff72482 ай бұрын
@@ShinoNC to add to this in the novelisation David shows Oram a fossilised facehugger egg and the dead facehugger inside and explicitly said they are a creation of the Engineers and that he simply wants to create a "similarly perfect lifeform". This again leads to the idea the Engineers created at the very least the classic version of the face hugger. Likewise the upcoming seires Alien Earth will be set the year before promethus and will seemingly feature proper xenomorphs, the creatives behind explicitly stating they are not gonna go with the idea that David created the xenomorph.
@ManSpider922 ай бұрын
@@evolution7865 The Xenomorphs existed before David. The ship on LV-426 is thousands of years old. David did not even exist. He simply tried recreating the Xenomorph. Hence the Protomorph being a miniature version of its adult self when it burst out of its victim. Thanks to Romulus, the movie further solidified that Xenomorphs themselves are natural creatures the Engineers discovered and weaponized. Black goo, their Deacon, their biomechanical suits, etc.
@EmpyreanDreamer2 ай бұрын
@@evolution7865 This is not true. The first eggs we see are on an Engineer ship which long predates both Covenant and Prometheus by thousands of years. Even with a third movie there's no way they can make that make sense or tie David to it in any way. If that's not enough the Engineer ships and suits have the same giger bio-mechanical design as the Xeno so either they created them or they discovered them and built a lot of their technology through studying them. Either way they existed long before David, he just has a god complex and thinks he can improve on their work.
@anthonyhudak93632 ай бұрын
So to clarify something. David did not actually create the xenomorph. He's merely trying to replicate the "perfect organism" from what he learned from the engineers. Apparently they developed a biological weapon in ancient times known as "the wolf". This was very likely the first iteration of the xenomorph and in Prometheus, a shrine to one is spotted on the mural of the derelict

From my understanding, the alien born from Billy Crudup is the first true xenomorph, so it is a creation of David. David, despite despising his creators, is following in the footsteps of the engineers and humans, trying to play god and make his own creation.

Just one think: In the blu ray of Alien Covenant, there's a short film of 7 minutes called "Alien Advent" which is a sequel to Alien Convenant, is a transmission from David in the Covenant ship to Weyland-Yutani on Earth, where he explains the experimentation he has been doing on Planet 4 and is a nice way to filling some blanks between this prequel and the rest of movies.

The blue alien that emerged from the engineer at the very end of Prometheus is called a deacon. There is a shrine in prometheus of the deacon because its blood can create life, so the engineers revere it as there god. Its blood is the seed to life and the way the engineers created humans/life itself. There wasnt a deacon for 1000’s of years until the end of prometheus, so at the beginning when he drinks the liquid, that was the last of authentic deacon blood. So the engineers created the black goo as deacon blood substitute, and it backfired on them leading to them dying.(which they show in Prometheus). Thats why they built it on a random planet not there own, because they knew they could mess up since its not authentic deacon blood. Thats in the novelization and in one iteration the script in prometheus.

To have real horror you have to have a villian that is smart, but is defeatable. The characters really cannot defend against a microscopic pathogen. I’ve seen the aliens in this movie called “protomorphs” a lot.

whilst this was ridley's idea at the time future alien projects will be ignoring the idea that David created the classic xenomorph. The people working of Alien Earth have they're gonna ignore it in particular and instead go with the idea they're a product of millions of years of evolution. David is not the creator of the Xenomorph. In addition to them being in the murals seen during Prometheus the eggs on the original space jockey ship were clearly being transported by an engineer. They also make it clear that ship has been there for thousands of years, long enough for the pilot to fossilize. Alien takes place 30 or so years after Covenant. So with that we can assume the Engineers are the original creators. David is just has a god complex and thinks he can improve on the Engineers work and use it to wipe out humanity.
@thewerewolff72482 ай бұрын
Should be noted it seems going forward the Engineers also won’t be the creators of the xenomorph, as alien earth’s creative team said they’re gonna go with the idea of them being a result of millions of years of evolution.

@@thewerewolff7248 Well just as people don't accept the implications of Covenant the same could also be the case for any future project. Personally just based on the bio-mechanical design I don't think it makes sense for them to be a natural evolution. It's also difficult to believe that such a well evolved life form would have stayed so animalistic over millions of years. My personal head canon is they were an extremely efficient creature the Engineers discovered then enhanced further, giving them that giger look in the process.

Not the first time Ridley has had someone be kissed by their killer “Isn’t he a robot?” Like Walter said, the David series was too human; and according to Fassbender, David’s human qualities have gotten momentum since he’s gone ten years without any maintenance To be clear, the guy whose face got burned wasn’t infected from the burning. It’s pretty clear David’s xenos develop incredibly fast, so the facehugger didn’t need to stay on him for long to infect him. Others have already pointed out that other materials clarify David’s probably not the creator of the xenos. Part of that is the fact that the engineer ship on LV-426 carrying the eggs has been there for a very long time, long before the events the prequels. At least it seems to have been.
