I never viewed Eddie and Chrissy as a couple, more like two people from different worlds who came to appreciate each other as pretty cool people. Also, we see the fact that though Eddie is viewed as an outcast and a menace, he is the only person that genuinely made Chrissy smile.

Funfact: they filmed their scene in the woods AFTER her death scene and during the woods scene the Duffer brothers realised how great their chemistry was and regretted killing her off.

@AUGH It was made after the death scene was filmed, so they couldn't change the whole plot of the episode/show. Also, I think at first it was a normal platonic scene, but Grace and Joseph (Chrissy and Eddie) decided to make it more romantic and flirty. After the Duffer Brothers saw the amazing chemistry they had together, they regretted it big time.

@AUGH Yeah, there's an essay I saw about how using minor scenes can build up to a great character that viewers overall love. If they didn't do the scene in the woods and just killed her off in Eddie's trailer, it just wouldn't make sense. The actor who played Eddie said that the romantic chemistry was because they needed a reason for Chrissy to go into Eddie's trailer, so, they would have to trust each other. I personally think that if Chrissy didn't die it would've lessened the impact of Eddie's death and hers. I really hope they do a "What If" type thing and revive her in the spin-off or some skit. Also, I would really like Eddie alive again like in some theories, considering his death was kinda for nothing other than emotional impact just like Chrissy's.

The difference on the actors who are already older now is that when they were hired they were at least kind of close to their character age when they were first cast for the show 7 years ago. And the year or so off for covid wasn't their fault. There's really no excuse this time for the casting of Eddie Munson because he looks way too old.

This season is a return to the horror aspect. Much like S1. Can't wait to see you guys react to it. Side note, the moment of El screaming at Angela without her powers gave me so much secondhand embarrassment. Also, Mike was talking all last season about how they were starting to outgrow D&D when Will wanted to play. Then he joins a club as soon as Will leaves. Hate to see it.

There was still a horror aspect in the other seasons, it just wasn't the same type of horror. Spoilers for the end of season 4 ahead: It was EXTREMELY disappointing to see the more cosmic horror atmosphere of the Upside-Down abandoned in favor of making the overarching "big bad" to be just some random-ass human guy.

You could argue though that by the end of season 3 Mike got a new appreciation for D&D because of everything that happened and how much it meant to Will. He also may have been apprehensive not knowing if any high schoolers played D&D but became more comfortable once he became friends with Eddie. It is kinda sad that Will still didn't have anyone to play D&D with though, haha.

Even though I've finished the season I still go back and watch that forest scene between Chrissy and Eddie all the time. It says so much about both of their characters with so little and the actors also got to improvise a lot of it. Even the Duffer Brothers regretted killing her off after they saw how good the chemistry was between the two actors when they filmed the scene. Fingers crossed they get to act again together in a new project someday!

This season is so fantastic, easily my second-favorite (behind the first season). Like you've already seen, the new monster is absolutely horrific and that's just a precursor to how dark this season gets tonally. I know a lot of people are looking forward to your Chapter 4 reaction (as am I, that episode is incredible), but I'm more looking forward to you watching Chapter 7 because it's gonna completely turn your understanding of the entire show upside down (no pun intended, I swear)!

Ahh I’m so excited for you both!! Love how much that Chrissy/Eddie scene endeared you guys, I was pretty neutral to him up to that point and it made me like him. Joe Quinn said when he was doing ADR for that scene in the trailer the duffers were like “do you wanna see her death scene?” And he said sure and then after he watched it he was like “you can’t do that there’s no way they’re gonna let you do that!” lmao Love your love and understanding of Lucas, a lot of people were unfairly critical of him and thought it was more realistic that he get the game moved?? Weirdos. His friends let him down that night. Not max, obviously, she’s going through it and she still at least listened. Those two had my favorite arcs this season so I’m excited for you to watch it!

Just like, knowing their archetypes it's very funny to see Jen arguing for the significance of their DND game and Holden thinking the basketball game was more important. They're both equally significant, and neither could be asked to reschedule cause it wasn't their game, it was Eddie's, who I believe was held back twice making him twenty and them fourteen, they did actually ask him to as well and it didn't work. It was Lucas' choice to not show up to something that is just as significant for them.

In Australia the 3rd and 4th seasons of the show were rated MA15+ which is usually the equivalent of an R rating in America as far as I know. I saw that the US rating was TV-14, but as an Australian I don't really know how that compares to the normal movie ratings.
