Wondering the rational for going with a 5800x over a 5700x? I would have gone for a 5700x with 4000M/T ram than 5800x with 3200M/T ram.

5800X was on sale that time. And its slightly better than the 5700X. Both supports Ram up to 3200mhz according to AMD. And 5800X is slightly faster, slightly better boost clock. So on sale it was just a better buy.

@@mr.k885 they support faster with xmp, and when I got my 5700x all the 5000 series processors were on sale and 5700x was 50$ less than 5800d. Cheers

I got a omen 45l with 16gm ram. Can I add 2 more ram sticks to the 45l? Or is the ram still locked like they did with past omens where you have to buy ram through hp for 3x the price? Thanks.

Yes you can add more RAm in your HP Omen. You can buy ram from any internet shop or shop, as long as the ram is the same. Than you can use Ryzenmaster or XMP in BIOS to ramp up the speed on the ram so all your ram run at same speed. I used Ryzen master when I did it, and to get it right I looked a video about this from @DanKamYouKnow. So no, you DO NOT have to buy overpriced RAM from HP.

Did I hear correctly that you say he paid $800 USD for a 3070ti? If that is true then smh. You know that the 4070ti is out right? And it's readily available everywhere at the same price as this 3070ti with almost twice the performance.

4070 ti is ca 200$ more expensive here. And a young man can simply not afford everything. 3070 ti is a great GPU and he really enjoy it.

@@mr.k885 If I was him I would save up a little bit longer to get the 4070ti. Don't get me wrong the 3070ti is a good card but it is 2 years old at this point and built on an old platform 8nm node. The new 4070ti is built on a much more advanced node 4nm. Nvidia actually jump two generations and is wayyy more advanced with more powerful Cuda cores and more advance raytracing cores. Also, support for DLSS 3.0 which the 3070ti won't do.

Yes but the 4070 ti and the 4080 and the 4090 has GDDR6X as the 3070ti also have. To really see the speed difference you need play in 4K on max settings. If not than you wont see much difference ( from what I have seen on other youtube channels ). Nvidia 4000 series is for full 4K and for the future. But that said, the Nvidia 3000 series are also damn good. 3070 ti will run 4K as well, and my 3080 run 4K. So all in all the RTX 3070 ti is a very good card. And it is a huge upgrade from the RTX 2060 he had. I like his rig, and think its cool that he save up and buy components that will last him long.

The 3070 Ti came out on June 10, 2021. Its almost exact 1,5 years old. I dont call that an old GPU :)

@@mr.k885 30 series card came out in 2020 and is a last-generation card. Since he is planning to keep it for 7-plus years it makes more sense to get the latest card. Especially with the price difference being so small between them and the huge improvements over the 30 series. GDDR6X has been in Nvidia's GPU since their last gen card GDDR5X and is exclusively used by them only. It is just an overclocked version of GDDR6 which helps with higher resolution. The main reason to get the 40 series card over the 30 series is for longevity and longer supports and feature that is exclusive to only the 40 series card like DLSS 3. It is not available to many games now but once it is widely available you will wish your card can support it. It is that good and advances over DLSS 2

He get new PSU soon. Need save up a little $$ to buy it. New monitor is on the way. So I guess PSU is changed in next month.
