This makes me wonder how many female artists feel forced to perform sexual favors to be successful. Sounds like they resented her for not being willing to sleep around.
@timothyperkins62875 жыл бұрын
I agree with part of this statement but far as women being FORCED to do sexual favors thats where you lost at, non of them are forced to do anything they havent agreed to, they have a choice they may be givin un fair ultimatums but non the less they always have a choice some choose to be hoes and fuck n suck to make it some put their foot down and go elsewhere believing in themselves that someone else will recognize their ability an invest in them an for all the right reasons. If you dont stand up for something you believe in, youll fall for anything n go through life with no control over your own destiny. Just constantly goin with the flow
@Jackiechan100095 жыл бұрын
@@timothyperkins6287 yeah that is true. But I think the dynamics of the industry needs to change where these young artist shouldnt have to be given ultimatums. Mrs.CookieLyon lyon I kinda disagree with you here. Something is wrong or off with her and her career... She is extremely attractive, a damn good dancer and she can carry a tune!!!! Why didn't she have a career as powerful as Paula Abdul? Mya sounds way better than Paula, yet Paula became a superstar artist. Mya needs to get rid of that stick up her ass. This is show business and its a business and if your record company is paying for everything, at least be cooperative and allow them to guide you. I am not saying she should have allowed the sexual harassment, no female deserves that, but at least be humble. I was always wondering why her career never took off because she released some high profile good quality music videos and her dancing was on point. Aaliyah, to me was always more edgier, videos more skillfully done and executed and Aaliyah had Missy Elliott and Timbaland to guide her. Its not about selling your soul, its about her having an attitude that her 'shit' don't stink??? Now we all know she is definitely not Becky with the good hair, Jay didn't like her?

You know what's sad? If you didn't know this truth, when we see Mya now, we might look at her as someone who fell off, or has failed and is only performing in small venues. This is crazy that she went through this and no one is able to hear her story. She did what others couldn't bring themselves to do, and really need to (Ciara, Kelly Roland, Jazmin Sullivan). She went independent, and forgoes the big platform form creative control. That's boss. I'm definitely going to support her music and follow her to see what's she's up to. I do know that she looks better than most women her age in the industry.

I don't know, if your basing your morals on what your god has done, it is questionable. Read about "Him". There are many "true" stories which speak of a jealous creator who could help but "He" wants people to suffer and die instead. Hint, there are other better stories about the universe that don't deal with a racist sexist "god", the good ones even break down where this "god" was created within the human cultures, and how and why it survives today. It is 2018 do your research, go google some shit, check your references, and let us be done with this talk of "races" and the dumb idea about needing religion to be moral and ethical. Smh...

Grant A thank you very much for the pamphlet, I don't know what God you believe in but the God that I believe in still loves her even even when she fell short and Everytime she or anyone else fall short as we all do. Life is a lesson and as long as you learn from your shortcomings in other words every time you fell short you pick yourself up and got back up and you give God the glory not only for the good but the bad and it made you stronger and then those shortcomings were all worth it, you can't regret what made you stronger and better, as far as morals in the music industry, she did very damn good for herself so why don't you go Google and research the music industry then you will understand what I mean by that, have a blessed day
@valadina44776 жыл бұрын
Grant A no disrespect unlike you because I don't believe in disrespecting or judging people but people like you who are so self-righteous just in what you wrote, are the people that scare the lost sheep away, everybody's Journey is completely different from yours so have some empathy instead of judging people that are lost and still do not know God or have a relationship with God and definitely pray for them, heck pray for the world and instead of judging them and being disrespectful in what you wrote why don't you try educating people so that they can start their Journey with God, I didn't say preach I said educate, good day sir

I really don't like this polarization. This is just one story and it happens a lot, but this isn't the only story. Others just get propositioned but side step it and move on with their careers. Not everyone gets an ultimatum and not everyone is in a position to. Stop giving these men so much credit - if an artist has talent the industry needs THEM or they don't have jobs.
