All of the items you need to get started are here: tinyurl.com/suppliesallyouneed Discount codes for affiliates!: linktr.ee/mycophiliaofficial I completely failed to mention in the video that you can also steam sterilize brown rice, thus you technically do not even need an instant pot or pressure cooker. I just highly recommend them as they make everything so much easier, and will also allow you to get into cereal grains like oats, rye and millet as you cannot steam sterilize those, along with all the rest of the Instant Pot's benefits that I go over in the video. Discount codes! : linktr.ee/mycophiliaofficial Videos I referenced: Instant Pot Guide: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2LNe56mr8mWhK8 Coir Guide: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYXZZn-unb2fhbc I hope you all enjoyed this video. My sister essentially owns what was an orchard, mainly plums and apples but hazelsnuts, oregon grapes, pears, apricots and nectarines and other stuff in her acre of garden. With 3 kids, they can PILES of stuff using Fowlers Vacola which is like the British version of ball mason but they also have ball mason for meats. They ran the 8 tray dehydrator so hard they killed it, and now have a completely stainless steel commercial one. I stayed up there for a week or 2 and essentially the dehydrator became the space heater at night for me. I would run it nights dehydrating plums and onions and then open the windows during the day to let the moisture blow away. I personally have a big home-made glass and steel one. Like 3ft by 8ft. Damn heavy.

Thanks for this! I broke my neck, back and shoulder 3 years ago and have been struggling with money/income every since. Disability pays just enough to pay my bills but leaves little for anything else. I of course suffer from depression and doctors give you crap meds not to mention opioids . I can't afford Ketamine treatment at 650 a pop with 4 shot/infusions for depression and up to 8 shots/infusions for pain management. So medicinal mushrooms is my only option /hope! Again thank you!

I recommend a 16 quart Presto Pressure Canner which is larger, and much cheaper, (they regularly go on sale $80 to $90 at around Christmas time, but even normally are under $110) then an Instant Pot, can also be used for pressure canning food, and are simple enough that nothing ever irreparably breaks on them. A good food dehydrator is a generally handy kitchen tool too! Get into Gardening if you can, it explains away many oddities.

PC's are fine, but I prefer the IP as they are easier, quieter, and safer to use. You will also not be able to do 12 hour pasteurization runs for manure with a PC, whereas with an IP you can, thereby future proofing yourself for exotics/nutritious substrates should you ever wish to get into them. Thank you for the comment!
@MirrimBlackfox
@MirrimBlackfox 9 ай бұрын
@@Mycophilia :) While I can see why people like them, I still prefer the simplicity, cost, and capacity of a PC. For bulk pasteurization I am planning on building Willy's Steam pasturisaton tub (which uses a PC to produce the steam) the tub costs $12 at HD and I already own pretty much everything else I would strictly need to build one, and again has much larger capacity. Anyway, if I find an IP secondhand, I would get it for the small batch, set and forget, usefulness of it. I just think that a PC has more versatility, is more reliable, and I don't really see IP's as being easier or necessarily safer to use, *but* different people are different and have different needs, wants, and skills. Wishing you all the best!
@Mycophilia
@Mycophilia 9 ай бұрын
@@MirrimBlackfox Yes I agree the main benefit of PCs is capacity. I wouldn't really include skills into your list however as it is all to do with simplicity, which is what my channel is all about. The great thing about the IP is that you can have a small kitchen appliance that can do it all with a low real-estate footprint, amongst some other benefits I listed earlier. Most people do not grow a massive/commercial amount, and would prefer to have a smaller all-in-one unit for their hobby. The models with the air fryers will also allow the IP to dehydrate your material as well, packing in a ton of versatility in a small space.

@jacobbradley7134
@jacobbradley7134 9 ай бұрын
Good information if a person wants to spawn a large bulk, but for first timers it's a huge learning curve. I believe all in one bags should be mentioned since it is almost fool proof and by the second flush a person could have more than enough personal product. Cost is around 65 with all in one, spore syringe, and a cheap monotub with air flow filters.
@Mycophilia
@Mycophilia 9 ай бұрын
I’ve seen a lot of failures with All-In-Ones over the years, moreso than methods like bulk. It’s definitely worth a go, I definitely would have tried it when starting out, or maybe UB as I’m lazy, but it’s just so much more rewarding to do the whole thing yourself, and it’s great to have more control over how your grow goes rather than putting all your eggs in one basket. My 2c

@Mycophilia I get where you're coming from. My first grow was by doing similar steps and it turned out great. But the simplicity of staying sterile and watching without contamination is a lot easier if done right in an all in one. Inoculate, let sit, break and shake, sit, fruit or transfer to tub and flush when ready. There's a lot more to deal with when it comes to pasteurization and sterilization of everything. I like the do it right mentality though man it's great to see keep up the motivational spirit brother! You're right if you follow the steps you'll be much happier doing everything like you do.

So they are "No Name bricks" that can only be bought in my city weight is way off sometimes a brick is 500 grams and a brick next to it is 900 grams🤣 so I allways weigh my bricks and calculate how much water to add.. never had problems and I have 12 full size tubs growing at all times.. just wanted to say that people should not be afraid to experiment if they get a chance..👍

Sage, i have a question on my recent attempt at using Millett. Ive successfully used uncle bens, ive done several grows with popcorn. I recently attempted to do some Millett jars. I soaked and simmered my grains until i felt like they were properly hydrated. I moved the grains into my jars and pressure cooked them at 15 psi for 1hour. I inoculated my jars and waited. They started colonizing and after about half way through they turned green. When i opened the jars to throw it away all the jars smelled strongly of alcohol. Almost like sour mash for making moonshine. Do you have any idea where i may have went wrong? I know my LC is clean because ive used it before and after on other types of grain with no issues.

I've always had masks around, decades before the pandemic. I used them when using bleach around the house. Although I don't really use bleach much anymore I still use masks for occasional litter box cleaning or a full bathroom scrubbing. I also just realized this year how effective they are for replacing a scarf when it's 5°-20°F. I know it sounds weird but it keeps my nose and face so warm. I sweat easily so having my neck able to vent heat while my face stays warm has been a game changer.
