I think he tells that story over and over because he's actually a relatively private person and I'm sure there were much deeper connections than just talking about baking bread... but those are for him. He doesn't need to tell everyone their most intimate conversations.
@LusiaEyre11 ай бұрын
@@ineffablemars I never actually considered this, but you must be right! There are some Beatles stories that were recounted countless times over the years, so it makes sense that there is a vaguely agreed 'official' version comprised of what people are willing to share. From time to time, some additionall info pops up in diffrent interviews, but we will never know the full story. Not only because Paul (in this instance) doesn't want to bare his soul to the world, but allso to protect the memory of the dead and the legacy of the band and its members. It's not a secret that all 4 of the band members kept some of each others secrets even during the major fuding in the 70s. And Paul acts almost as a chief public mourner for John, and no amount of regret or 'what if' thinking would keep that bond going for 43 years if they weren't really getting 'back on track' after the mess of the 70s. Paul serenades John with 'Here Today' still at his every major concertand just a few years ago protested gun violence in New York. And he seems the least interested in reconciling the myth of John with the flawed human being that he was. Yoko never submitted to the narrative of a grief stricken widow, and his sons have very complicated feelings (especially Julian). But anyway, I agree that even if they avoided some topics to keep the peace (like business) it probaby wasn't all pointless small talk about cats and bread. And frankly, we are not owed the intimate truth.

+Maria de vries i have a question emmm the death of john lennon has the same impact as the michael jackson death? (sorry for my bad english)
@11lululuv8 жыл бұрын
Trevin Ellison I disagree. I think that the only reason George's death is less talked about by Paul and the world is because George's death was expected, and he died in a more peaceful manner. It has nothing to do with John doing more or being closer to Paul. Paul grew up with both George and John and considered them his best friends.
@ineffablemars8 жыл бұрын
John died tragically. He was assassinated. George had cancer for a while before his death, and he got to say goodbye to his friends and family.. it's no less sad, but he had a chance to be with his loved ones.

@joe60964 жыл бұрын
Pre-Army Elvis was when he earned and deserved his status as The King. But by the 1970s Elvis did not look anywhere near as good as Paul does now. Sadly Elvis not only gained weight but got hooked on pills. And had questionable doctors giving him health advice. Don't forget, by the mid - 1970s there'd already been statins and ACE inhibitors developed for high blood pressure, heart, and cholesterol management. They were still very new medicines but as it turns out 40 years later they worked and still do. There's no reason why, with Elvis being Elvis, if he had a medical team of REAL doctors who were properly up to date on the available medications for his health situation, that he could not have been on at minimum a regulated prescription of proper vital medications that are very common for people today. What I'm trying to say is, if Elvis had good, real doctors even with his weight gain, he wouldn't have died at 42 years old. Even in 1977, there were medications available to stabilize his vital signs.

Why is the Jackson collab a fav moment...? My fav moments were the Beatles era throughout. My dad died a few months ago and he made my listen to everything they did whilst growing up in the 80s. They are my fav band and always will be. They are the greatest songwriters of the 20th century and their popularity is still showing no signs of declining today. They wrote across most genres and the demographic mirrors this stunning talent. I thank my dad for educating me as to what is good music and what is not and I have played guitar for 30 yrs and have taught guitar also. Now I have quite extensive musical theory I can analyse their music and understand why their songs are so special. Their sense of melody is unsurpassed even by professional songwriters back then and now. To have three musical genius all in one band is just a fluke as all the stars lined up for them to break through...It's just a miracle that will never ever happen again such are the odds! We are so lucky to have their music now forever. My friend musicians have had kids and I tell them to expose their kids to high information music from the get go and give them the Beatles as they are growing up. This develops their ear and this is a wonderful gift for life.
