I have HDMI out from my laptop to my projector, with an audio out/headphone jack the only audio out from the projector. I run a 3.5mm to my external speaker, and there's a loud "buzz" that's apparent when I turn the volume up to just 33% or so. Any idea how to get rid of the buzz? Sound and video do work fine except for the buzz.
@LifestyleLab_5 жыл бұрын
@@superhomer Try running the 3.5mm from your laptop to the external speakers instead and see if the same buzz occurs. If not, your projector audio out likely has a poor signal to noise ratio and you may want to consider using the HDMI splitter option shown in this video, or simply continue to run the audio from your laptop instead

You are pure awesomeness. Thanks so much! We are planning a Hamilton Party for July 3 and was nervous as it is streaming and any hiccup with Disney Plus or Verizon FiOS could really blow things up (too many variables outside of my control). I learned that D+ allows you to download movies but only to a device like an Android or iPhone. The challenge is how to project the movie from my iPhone but get the sound going through my soundbar and woofer. I had a thing that allowed me to connect my iPhone to an HDMI cable - but the audio was the big hangup. Your HDMI video/audio splitter did the trick - I tested it yesterday and it worked perfectly. Great video! Very clear with great options. Here's one more setup that I'm using: a 3.5mm bluetooth transmitter. It basically serves the function of the amazon fire in your setup but runs from the audio out rather than the HDMI in on the projector. I have an Epson 2150, which has a 3.5mm audio out port but doesn't have bluetooth (as an aside, WHY don't projectors have the most recent version of bluetooth built in? The latency issues have been largely resolved!). Most soundbars these days that are sold with the intent to have them used with TVs also have a built-in bluetooth receiver. So I connect a bluetooth transmitter to audio out 3.5mm on the projector, and then pair it with the bluetooth on my vizio soundbar. The bluetooth transmitter could also (in theory) be used with an hdmi splitter if you have your video device (e.g. laptop; DVD player; console; roku...) at the back of the room near the projector where you can connect the video from the device through the hdmi splitter to the projector, but the audio through the hdmi splitter to a BT transmitter to the BT soundbar.

Now you're thinking! That's another great option
@pappydc125 жыл бұрын
Hmm - Jeff Tanner - are there small BT transmitters that could be located in the ceiling with the projector? Sensational. Additional ways: x2 Costco tower speakers with x2 10-20ft AUX cables and a Y port AUX adapter (one male, two female receiving ends). Plug into the AUX port of your projector and run the cables to the tower speakers. These tower speakers are the current model that theyre showcasing for music, but that means theyll handle bass in movies well. Also, when i clean the house, im a big music lover, but i enjoy using the projector to watch music videos, which gives me a double-whammie. I get crisp great sound. For video, i either cast to the projector OR plug in an HDMI adapter w/ an iPhone HDMI lighting cable.

Hello , I have Sony ht-x9000f soundbar , if I connect it via the BT will i have all the soundbar features like the dolby atoms ?
@LifestyleLab_4 жыл бұрын
No, bluetooth can not transmit complex signals such as 5.1 surround or Atmos. Those need a digital connection
@Mohamad993054 жыл бұрын
Lifestyle Lab thanks for the fast reply, can you help me to better understand, i will get the benq th 685 projector and what should i get too to get these features work?
@LifestyleLab_4 жыл бұрын
You will need to run the HDMI from your source (playstation, cable box, etc...) into the soundbar. Then an HDMI cable from the HDMI OUT port of the soundbar back to your projector
@kevinguthmiller85104 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thank you for this. For Group 4 Option B (5:10 on the video), you are transmitting the projector's Bluetooth to a Bluetooth receiver which is in turn hooked up to the receiver. If the receiver already has Bluetooth though, is it really necessary to have a separate Bluetooth receiver?
@LifestyleLab_4 жыл бұрын
Hi Kevin, 2 key clarifications: 1) It is not the projector's bluetooth, it is the bluetooth audio signal from the Fire TV stick. 2) Give it a try with your existing receiver with a bluetooth adapter as this may very well work! However I have found that some receiver's bluetooth circuits results in a quite significant audio delay that can be avoided with a low latency bluetooth adapter
@kevinguthmiller85104 жыл бұрын
@@LifestyleLab_ Great, thank you! I should have mentioned that I plan on hooking up a 4K firestick; thank you for clarifying that point. I have heard what you mentioned about the built-in Bluetooth possibly resulting in some audio lag so it's nice to know it can be avoided with a Bluetooth adapter. Do you have your speakers wired from your receiver, or do you think that it is reasonable to assume that a Bluetooth-enabled receiver can also transmit wirelessly to speakers (assuming in the receiver's owner's manual it states it has the Bluetooth transmitter function)? I'm trying to go as wireless as possible, but I want to be realistic. Just because claims are made doesn't mean it always practically works out that way. Thank you in advance for your opinion on this.

@@kevinguthmiller8510 Other than "Home theatre in a box" solutions that have wireless satellite speakers, the vast majority of home theatres are wired. This is because in a wireless scenario, the speakers need to all be set up to work seamlessly with whatever is sending them the signal (hence why they are sold as a system). An AV receiver is built to strip audio signals from digital video inputs, and send that signal and power to speakers over a wired connection. The receiver knows which speaker it is sending which audio to, because the speaker is connected to a specific port. I have never heard of a receiver that can set up a 5.1 configuration of wireless third party speakers. This would be next to impossible with the varying transmission distances, audio lag, codecs, etc... So if you want to go wireless, get yourself a soundbar with wireless satellite speakers. Otherwise, with a traditional AV receiver, you must use wires to connect to the speakers.
@kevinguthmiller85104 жыл бұрын
Ok great, I think I got it, but at the risk of embarrassing myself (I may have passed that point already....) would you just mind making sure I am correct here: If I don't want a 'home theatre in a box', but instead wanted to purchase a 5.1 speaker package (soundbar + wireless subwoofer + 2 wireless rear speakers), I would still need a 4K receiver configured with the 4Kprojector/4K firestick as is mentioned above in your previous answer, so that my receiver would wire to the soundbar, but would be wireless to the subwoofer and rear speakers, correct?

How would i go about doing this with a sonos play bar as they dont use bluetooth? What options do i have to hook up to the projector?

@@kepetez06 Yes, unfortunately SONOS kind of boxed it's users in with the choice to go strictly optical. I workaround would be an HDMI to optical splitter like this www.amazon.ca/Tendak-Optical-Extractor-Converter-Splitter/dp/B017B6WFP8

So need some help from someone to connect this. So I have a benq HT2050A and a Samsung hw-q70t 330w sound bar. So projector has 2 HDMI ports while sound bar has 1 HDMI port and 1 HDMI Arc Port. So my plan is to connect the laptop to the projector and get the content going on and use the sound bar also connected to the projector get the sound going on. I'm not really a techy but it doesn't work even having that 2 HDMIs the sound is just coming from the projector itself only. I have checked all the options available in the projector to try to do in the menus but so far no luck. Further I might connect my PS4 instead of the laptop for gaming purposes as well. I have no idea how I can use the sound bar also in par with the projector and laptop or ps4. Right now what I did was to connect the projector to the laptop while using laptop bluetooth to connect to the sound bar but the sound lag through bluetooth is unwatchable. Please let me know how I can use the sound bar with the projector when the content is coming from another source. Stucked on this for few days now 😔😔
@LifestyleLab_3 жыл бұрын
You should be using the HDMI ports on the soundbar itself to connect your devices, and then run an HDMI from the HDMI Arc port back to your projector. The devices all connect to the soundbar, which handles the audio, and then the HDMI arc port passes the video signal back to the projector

Hi I have sonance Sonos outdoor speakers with sonos amp.. I want to connect a projector (have not bought it) to the amp so I can hear the audio through those sonance speakers. How can I do this? Im able to connect a HDMI cable cos the amp sits behind the wall where the speakers are installed. How does the apple airplay work? What projector is Sonos amp friendly ? U don't have to answer all the questions if not able to. I just need to start somewhere. Thanks ahead for the reply

I’m trying to connect projector audio out to silent disco transmitter/headphones. The problem is I’m getting some high pitched ringing along with the audio- would you have any suggestions how to improve this? Transmitter works fine with phone audio, so it’s something about projector to transmitter.

First, check the projector audio with a different set of speakers to determine that it is in fact that output that is adding the noise

Surround sound cannot be transmitted via Bluetooth. It needs to be wired to either the AV receiver or soundbar directly so that it can be properly decoded into the channels
