This is refreshing. I’m tired of hearing “you need to just move on” because every relationship is different. Sometimes, getting back together IS a good thing. But all these love gurus just say to move on. This video is great because he gives options for both.

Gerrit Sluyter...I agree, I’m sick of hearing just “move on” right away when the breakup is still fresh. why can’t you fight for it if the relationship was good? There’s nothing wrong to want to try to fight for it and that is if you feel your ex has not given up on you and the relationship. You think you just want to “move on” but maybe your ex DOES NOT want to “move on” and would like to try again.

Most of these people that go through breakups, can’t be alone, do not take care of themselves first, I used to be that person. If you are not happy alone, you will always have breakups, depending on others for happiness is a form of addiction. Get your life together before you date. This guy knows what he is talking about. Everything he has said has happened to me throughout my life. ALL my ex’s came back, at least once, sometimes twice. It doesn’t mean that it will workout. Growth happens to people in different times in your life. Live your life everyday and you will attract someone that shares similar values and with some commitment and compromises, also taking care of yourself first. You can have the best days and a great relationship BUT, it starts with a great relationship with yourself first. Good luck 🍀

I feel like Hollywood has done far more harm than good when it comes to portraying relationships. The sooner people accept that no relationship is perfect and that romance movies are usually a bunch of BS, the happier people will be in real relationships. The key to maintaining love and passion in a long-term relationship is lowering your expectations and learning to be satisfied with less than perfect. That's how couples manage to stay married for 20+ years.

I think “moving on” is not the right thing to say. It’s “letting go”! It takes weeks or in reality months to feel normal after a breakup and get at a baseline emotional level! Just let time heal and delete all triggers. The memories will become more and more distant and that’s probably a good thing. Another thing to keep in mind is that you have to look at the entire relationship from beginning to end, everything that was said and everything that happened to put it all in perspective. If they are worth it and value you they will come back. If not, someone better will come along eventually… hopefully!

So he broke up with me on January. A few days after that he texted me saying he still loved me and that he wanted us to be good friends, but I said to him that I needed time (a mistake, I know) and we haven't talk since that. He also said to me that he would consider coming back together in the future if we were single and still love each other, but that's not a yes... We used to have a good relationship but I fell into depression and we started fighting a lot. Things were never the same after that. Things got to a point where we weren't happy and I do not know if it was because of me and because I fell bad with myself. He even started liking another girl, he fell in love with someone else; I think he was looking in her what he couldn't find in me: a woman that love herself and was confident (I think they are not together, but I'm not sure). Anyway, he wasn't a perfect human being. He made some mistakes too. I think that sometimes what I wanted wasn't important for him. But I miss what we used to be before I got depressed and I think that he stopped valuing me bc I didn't value myself. I've been into no contact for about one month and a half. He likes my Instagram posts, watch my stories... but I don't know 😔. I just want to stop feeling, I just want to get over him. I have to admit that I am waiting for him to come back, because I feel like my dignity was beaten and I cannot believe he doesn't think I am worth it, because even though I was depressed I gave him all the love I could.

I’ll say this. Sometimes it’s not worth it to get your ex back. Your ex is an ex for a reason. If they truly loved you, they would have never left.. who wants to be with someone that they have to intentionally stay away from in order to get them back? What if they leave you again? Are you going to continue to practice no contact? You get tired after a while. I’m someone who practiced the no context method at least 5 times with one person. Yes they came back but they would always leave again! Have some dignity and self worth and leave them where they left you ✌🏿

Araba Apau but what if it’s because you (as in me) screwed up so bad and took her for granted and made her feel unwanted and now you (as in me) hate yourself for it. That’s why I’m here, cuz she’s my ex cuz i f’d up

Joshua Pierce I understand , we all make mistakes . And if you truly love her , and if she wants you back too, don’t mess up the next time . Show her you appreciate her and you’ll never let her go. Please go into it with good intentions. Nothing worse than a heart that breaks twice.
@joshuapierce34634 жыл бұрын
Araba Apau I will if I ever get that chance but... she just got engaged after 5 months with him. I honestly feel like I killed her self esteem so bad that I’m the reason for that crazy decision to say yes after such a short time. I feel like she’s the love of my life and I felt I had for her life and that she’d never leave and now this, I’m not mad at her or him I feel like I deserve what I’m going through. I never ever verbally or physically abused her or put her down. I just stopped showing her she was the most important thing in my life and that ultimately led to my downfall and I hate myself for being that stupid.
@ArabaApau4 жыл бұрын
Joshua Pierce you need to forgive yourself and take this as a lesson. What you did was wrong, YES. But use this as a lesson to NEVER make that same mistake . You may have lost an amazing thing , but everything happens for a reason and if you two are meant to be together , you two will find your way back to each other . If not , forgive yourself and move on. I pray everything works out for you

This is the most important and lingering feeling which sticks with u after u get dumped.. But this is the moment of courage where we can rise from ashes and shine like stars.. Whether u fight for ur ex or move on just be truthful to yourself.. Cz u have to start loving and taking care of yourself first then only u can give love to other person.. 💫🌟.. Sending all of u ❤.. That's the part I'm scared of I'm scared of becoming numb towards her, mine was a long distance relationship and she lived in another state. We were together year and a half. It ended February 2nd the day before her birthday I can tell it kill her too but she had to choose her career, but then after two weeks of me doing no contact successfully, while she's breadcrumbing me to find out how my knee is doing I injured my ACL 5 days after The Break-Up, I went ahead and contacted her the week after Valentine's just to find out exactly what it was since I was more calm. And it turned out that she thought I still love my toxic ex which wasn't even the case. I wouldn't even be with this woman if I still had feelings for my ex.. my original ex left me for one of my closest friends and is still with him. Why would I want someone like that? She said what triggered her to make the jump was me wishing my ex a happy birthday and thanking her for being a mother she us to our kids. But I didn't mean anything by it I wasn't even hiding it the anniversary of our son passing away is a day before her birthday all I was trying to do was keep her spirits up it's hard to wish you a happy birthday with such a tragedy the day before. An honest mistake I guess I'm not sure...I was looking forward to having a new family my daughter (9) a lonely child now because of her little brother not being here and my recent ex has a daughter that was looked upon as her sister already.. I hope she comes back. I don't want to be indifferent towards her.. that's what's killing me now. But I'm doing my no contact and giving her The Break-Up like coach Lee sais

1. Your point about limerance is superb, it's a misplaced desiring desire itself. I feel instead we make a commitment to love an imperfect person imperfectly. 2 . My ex and I had a great relationship and were very close to one another, she dumped me because someone else came on the scene and he played on her personal issues. We even went to Paris a week before she dumped me, and it was a great holiday but I could tell something was wrong. Dumping me totally came out of the blue and I've felt left dangling ever since. Everyone was utterly surprised including her family. She was two faced and hid any feeling of unhappiness from me. Looking back it was as though she was conflicted between him and me for a while. The man she left for me is a counsellor and very manipulative. He's significantly older too. He called her repressed and made her feel very anxious but he caught her imagination.i had the misfortune of meeting him before I realised what was happening, and he probed into our relationship and used the 7 love languages to split her and I apart. Just came across my ex at work for the 1st time yesterday since NC about 40 days now and about 3 months since I was ghosted. Went about my day, made sure to look good bc I knew they would be at the job site. Laughed with everyone said hello and made sure to say hello to her as well with a smile and kept it moving. She looked nervous and startled when i approached to say hello. Guess she expected for me to be bitter or mad. Then said goodbye at the emd of the day and again she looked nervous fumbling a box she had in hand. Hope that was a good thing n puts that doubt in her head and curiosity that brings her back lol. No lie it killed me inside a bit when I left. Thought I was going to be just fine.

This is exactly what goes through my mind, I do look back at my relationship, and we did have a good one, yes we had ups and downs but we hardly argued, I did make all the mistakes of txting her out after the relationship, I broke nc and have gone back into it, people just keep saying move on, but I just have this gut feeling and I just think deep down she still thinking of me, only coz I know what we had, and yes It does feel confusing to me, as iv not really had a proper reason for the split, I hope she does come back, and I could move on but, I think il ruin my chances, and people say as soon as u get with someone else she will come running back, but I honestly don't want to do that, I love her very much, but this gut feeling could just be wishful thinking, ur mind thinks all sorts, when u split up, and it is effecting my job, as she is on my mind all the time, I'm in my 3rd month of the break up and 3 weeks of my 2nd attempt of nc, I'm a strong guy but wow a woman is my weakness

I broke up with my girlfriend of 4 months recently. I really loved her and she told me that she really loved me too. We were both unknowingly hurting each other until it was too much. She eventually decided to break it off telling me how she truly felt and that she needed time to find herself and heal. It seemed like we ended on a neutral note. I was so shocked and speechless that I didn't even get a chance to tell her how I truly felt. Ironically we both felt the same things. Not worth it to the other person, sad, lonely, and lost. I truly do want to get back with her and talk things more thoroughly but that won't come to fruition. It has been about 3 weeks now. It is really tempting to break the no contact rule but I know that it will only make things worse if I try to get in contact to say something as simple as "hi". I am going to keep on no contact and see what it develops into. Honestly if we don't get back together it isn't the end of the world. I'm not going to lie that I wont be sad if she does move on. I will be, but that just means that I have to move one too. I truly wish her the best and want her to be happy.

We had a wonderful time with no fights and no heavy talk. As I was leaving I told her we should do that again sometime. I was keeping it light. She got it and smiled and said sure. We texted each other a couple of times the next day. The day after that I texted her and said we should do that again. She didn't answer back and we are entering week two now. There doesn't seem to be any reason for no contact other than I did text her last and never heard from her. All I know is that we are both very stubborn and prideful. But I have swallowed my pride so many times with her . I wish I knew what was going on in her mind.

So I took the quiz out of curiosity. Some of the questions were hard for me to answer, haha. They were seemingly straightforward, but gave me pause, because of the situation my breakup had been. Was the ex angry when they broke up with you? Well, no. We didn't argue during the actual breakup. But we rarely argued. But I felt an underlying resentment, and he made some comments like he had some resentment, but he wasn't technically angry. (I answered yes.) Was long distance one of the reasons the ex gave? No, he didn't explicitly say so, but I always felt it was because it was long distance that was the root cause of his growing resentment. (I answered no.) For those curious, I scored a 84.3% chance of getting them back. For those wondering, no, I don't intend to do anything about it. At the time I felt I would have been able to get him back if I wanted to fight for the relationship, but also at the time the way he broke up with me made me question if I did want to fight. I still loved him, missed him, but I didn't want him back under those circumstances of our breakup, because it would have made for an unhealthy relationship down the road.

@@danieltome6540 Hi, I just took the quiz out of curiosity, no intention or expectation that there would be a reconciliation. We broke up 17 years ago. And frankly, right now anytime I think of him, I get angry. He humiliated me and was just plain cruel in how he dumped me (he cheated on me, then ignored my calls for days, didn't even call me to tell me he wanted to break up, only told me when I sent a friend over to see if he was dead in a ditch. Actually wanted to keep the engagement ring "for if he wants to get back together, he can give it to me again." What a joke. I wanted to hit him when he said that. There were other things he did that I don't want to share with the internet.). In the beginning I was just hurt, and I was stupid to have still loved him for a while afterwards, after what he did to me. I only thought of him recently because PTSD was triggered from that breakup. Yes, it was so bad I legit have PTSD from it. Let's just say only a miracle would make me take him back.

Hi Coach Lee, I am 36 and she is 30. We had a 3 months relationship which was full of joy and sometimes sadness as she was sick and i had to send her to clinic or hospital. All in all, i took great care of her and tried my best to make her happy. But i am needy kind of guy which got worse after she left the country and was far from me. I was needy several times, texting and questioning her. She told me about 5 times that she will be back and tells me to relax. But i was just bothered by her coldness and continued to write many text a day to get her attention and at the same time still questioning her and doubting her. So end up she says she don't want relationship anymore and then block me because i said think about the good times we had and the diamond ring and gifts i bought for her. She said its disgusting i talk about the gifts as i am a man. After blocking me, i got work up and messaged her from another phone, saying some very crude words about her and thanking her for leaving me as i don't want a women with 2 children ( she has twins). But i quickly regret what i said and followed up with numerous apologies everyday for 5 days to explain that i was angry and did not mean what i say. Each and every attempt was blocked or met with a reply that says 'I don't want to hear anything about you! Don't write me again". My last message to her was that i will message her again at Mar 15 to see how she feels. I say i will give her the time to cool down and i will take these 2 weeks to be better mentally and physically. My question is how do you think she will react when i message her on Mar 15. Supposedly she is coming back end of Mar. But she said after what i said to her, she never want to see me again.

Hey, Coach Lee! Great videos as always. I really enjoy them. Heres a scenario you may not have considered. You have an ex you broke up with about a year ago because things got heated. But you had a real great connection and chemistry. She called incessantly, text etc, emailed but you needed time to clear your head and ignored all her efforts. Then as the dumper, you finally reach out to her( a year later). She takes your call, you apologize, but she tells you she's back with her abusive ex and is pregnant, asks why you couldn't have reached out sooner and is really upset and says she has to try and make it work with him now that she's pregnant even though you know how much she feels for you because she said so. What to do in that situation? I mean obviously go no contact , but should I not expect anything at all with this type of revelation? I mean this scenario is a bit of a game changer, no? She already called me a month ago crying saying this guy wants nothing to do with her and the baby because he knows how she feels about me(she told me) and when I followed up with her in an email she said she would reach out to me when she chooses. Confusing....I know. She said she was so confused at that moment. So, P.S. I assume she worked it out and went back with him because she went radio silent and I haven't called or text her either in over a month. Figured just let it be...?

Just a few weeks ago he said I was his Everything , he loved me more than his own life, I was his queen... That I wasn't going ANYWHERE. this was literally weeks ago!!! So technically I broke up with him, but he's the one who said he isn't IN LOVE with me. I'm always the one who's done the chasing. He was my teenage sweetheart..I'm his first love. He says he always wants me in his life but I want him to be In love with me. What do I do Coach Lee?
