Thank you so much for reacting to this song. One which always is an emotional moment from her shows. As you say Mylène is an humble artist, she generously shares the stage with musicians and dancers, she puts them in front. She's sensitive, shy but at the same time a show girl, a dancer, an actress, sexy or poetic (or twice), mysterious and openminded. Her concert are incredible. I know you like reacting to live performances but take a look to her videos, I promise you it's pure art too. Another world, another travel with this beautiful women. Merci !

Yes, the musical interlude on the theme of "Avant que l'ombre" follows the song "Ainsi soit je" before moving on to a new musical table. Mylène Farmer is remarkable for her shyness, modesty and humility despite her star status. We never see her in the tabloids, she gives very few interviews and doesn't like to talk about herself. Only in the songs that she writes and that she literally gives to her audience during her shows. Always between smiles and tears, she gives a peaceful philosophy of life despite the turmoil. Her texts often refer to literature, painting, or cinema, and her clips (which are real short films) are masterfully transposed on stage. Attending one of her concerts is truly an emotional moment.
@Celion272003 жыл бұрын
by the way not only the public is emotional. mylène put so much of herself in her songs that often she can't control and also cries on scene.

First of all, I just thank you for this reaction to this Great artist. You definitely have to watch and discover more of her. As you said, which is just amazing because you ve seen just a few, she really is sensitive and humble. I had the chance to see in live, a concert of each Tour she performered (first in 1989). Each time you dive in another world, her world... Lyrics are poetry... You said (and showed us) you had goose bumps. That is exactly the feeling the audience get every time! Please watch more of her and react to it. For example "L'horloge" last song of her last concert. Anyway thanks for being so sincere in front of these videos. Merci ! :-))
@korrigan66983 жыл бұрын
hi! it is not an exit but an interlude, a cut between the piano / voice part and the continuation of the concert. and it's an outstanding interlude! she is like a goddess or high priestess returning to her temple in front of an adoring and turned audience. Myléne is a shy, discreet, humble and very secretive woman who refuses to play the media game, she even had problems with certain radios who wanted to make her bend, but she does not care and succeeds very well without them! she is perfect.
@thebeestwin3 жыл бұрын
Nice to see you react to Mylène again ! 🙂 A lot of people have said all there is to say about the performance itself so I'm not gonna add to that. But as far as the death references that you have noticed in the scenery, it is a recurring theme for Mylène, due to personnal experience mostly. But it isn't always easy to grasp for non french speakers (even for french speakers actually) because she is a master with words. She uses metaphores, plays with words, images and a lot of cinematic, litterary, art references... One of the most obvious example is when she sings "falling asleep" like she does in this song, and in so many others, she clearly means "dying". She pushed the metaphorical concept to the extreme with the song "C'est une belle journée" (="It's a beautiful day") which is a very upbeat song, which sounds very joyful, with playful lyrics, but actually talks about suicide.

What is magical at the end is her walk of gratitude towards her audience. Having attended her concerts, she is very humbled by the loyalty and love from her audience. The melancholic instrumental piece is a good transition as Ainsi soit je evokes love, loss and absence of the departed ...

I hope 2019 wasn't her last concert .. as in there her last song L'horloge was the song she had never performed after she did that as a start of her first concert in 1987 i believe.. The next one you might enjoy for sure is with the song "Désenchantée" (which is actually her signature song) from her 2009 concert at Paris Stade de France. Truly amazing. Keep up the good work! Greetings from Paris.

You're right, after the song "Ainsi soit je", there's a transition on the music of "Avant que l'ombre" (the one you've already seen where she climbs the stairs and takes off her red coat). It's the middle of the concert. That kind of transition gives her time to change her cloth ;) There are two songs that I love from Mylène : "Diabolique mon ange" and "L'âme dans l'eau" because I just love the lyrics of these two songs. A must-see : the intro of the Timeless concert with "Coming from the vortex - Interstellaire", just awesome.

Many people are reacting to Mylene on KZbin nowadays but you are definitely the one that understands her art best. It’s really interesting to listen to how you analyze her songs and visuals. You should check her music videos. Some of them are fun, sexy or dark. But they are always very interesting. Many things to analyze. Little movies. I’d love to see how you understand them. Here the most iconic ones : Libertine & Pourvu Qu’elles Soient Douces (these 2 are linked), Sans Contrefaçon, Tristana, California, Je te rends ton amour, The Farmer’s Project, City Of Love. If you want to stay in love performances... well everything is great. Maybe try some up tempo songs ? (L’âme stram gram 2009, C’est une belle journée 2013, Désenchantée) or the other openings and endings of her shows (she performed in 1989, 1996, 1999, 2006, 2009, 2013 and 2019) Can’t wait to watch you again !

Well done for your analysis Johnny because it is very precise and good. The strength of this artist is the sensation she produces on her fans. If you can you should watch her 2019 intro and shutdown .... it's from another world and even Madonna said it's amazing ... Just like many noted, the song is Ainsi Soit je, which was followed by an outro, an instrumental version of Avant Que L'ombre (the song she ended her previous 2006 concert with). What we just watched here is the ending of the ballad segment of the show, these segments are normally in the middle of a concert, like here. As to the skeleton, the whole theme of the show is an anatomical theme - check out the opening of this concert. The cover of the album that she promoted with this tour features an image of a stitched up doll with the surgical tools lying next to it. One of the songs from the album (the album's name is Point De Suture by the way) - is a dance single called C'est Dans L'air features dancing skeletons in the music video. And the kick-off single Degeneration from the same album has a music video set in a medical lab.

So the skeletons anatomy skulls is all part of some theme? But why? What significance is she trying to convey? ( My 1st view of Mylene. Epic! )
