I have been using the MyPillow medium fill for about a year and a half now and love it. The Firm fill is indeed too firm. The medium fill does have the lumps, but it's much more forgiving/easy to adjust to your needs, thus the lumps have been a non-issue for me. I'm a person that hates 'pancake' pillows, so I found I was buying a new 'cheap' pillow about every 4 months at $10 a pop. The MyPillow medium fill has yet to go flat, therefore it's already been worth the price...paid for itself. Pillows are definitely a personal preference, IF you like a fluffy soft pillow that doesn't go flat, the medium fill MyPillow is worth a try.

I originally tried the firm version of MyPillow and I hated it. Tried it for 2 nights and gave up. It really was too firm! So I returned that and then I saw there was a medium firm version. I bought that and fell in love with it. Been using it for 9 months now and have no complaints. I would recommend trying the medium version first and see if you like that.

Just a note that My Pillow comes in different 'classes'.. You have the 'firm fill' - which does not compress as much as maybe one of the others. I only comment because my husband loves his - but looked specifically for the one that fit his preference.

I bought mine at Fry's for $35. I like MyPillow; the thickness is great for neck support and sleeping on my side. I can understand that some people won't care for it as James pointed out but I'm part of the other group where it actually works for me. As far as the lumpiness goes, I think the fill is shredded memory foam and it doesn't bother me a bit when I'm lying on it.

I’ve had my pillow for two months now and I love it. I love the thickness and it gives my neck great support. I’ve tried lots of other pillows and end up with a crink in my neck after they get worn down. My pillow will regain its original shape after a quick fluffing. My husband loves his too and he is a lot pickier than I am!

@@dcwatashi I have had down filled pillows before. They seem to keep heat. Plus I've been poked by quills. Once I bought the MyPillow...I swore, I would never buy another type. It stays cool. I can make it firmer if needed by folding it. Be sure to get the King Size. I've had mine for over 6yrs & it's still as good as the first day I bought it.

We bought two about 3 months ago. I immediately loved it! My wife took a while to adjust, but she likes it now. We bought the softest ones they had - it cost extra compared to the regular ones, but we like soft pillows and they are comfortable. I can see those lumps, but when my head is on the pillow I don't feel them. It conforms to my head and easily fluffs back up when needed. Everyone has different needs and likes for their pillows, so I imagine there will be lots of people who hate it, but also lots of people that love it. People are different.

I still use a feather (real ones) my grandma made about 60 years ago. It's probably just as big and lumpy, but I can't sleep on the thin ones, just feels like I'm sleeping on the mattress and putting extra pressure on my head/neck. But everybody is different like you said, heh.

I used to have chicken feather or down pillows my grandmother made. Great pillows, nice and dense. They got ruined in a fire. They were around sixty years old too. The down pillows I bought to replace them were maybe half as thick, and weren't cheap.

There are feather pillows, goose down and a mix of both. Quality goose down is the most expensive. You can pay hundreds of dollars for quality goose down. I think feather is good enough, though.

From gymnastics & dance, I had terrible neck pain. A doctor once asked me if I was ever in an accident because I showed whiplash injury. Yikes. Every pillow I ever had hurt like hell, until this one. This is THE BEST PILLOW I have ever used. My neck pain is actually gone. I’ve given this pillow as gifts and every one of them has fallen in love with it. This is the only pillow for me for life!

Used a My Pillow for about 2.5 years. Washing it does make it thicker -in fact washing it makes it like new every time. The thickness could rub people the wrong way but it does smooth out and "get smaller" after being used a few days. In other words, it does eventually adapt to what you want. But washing it starts it over again. Compare this to store pillows that degrade after washing and get worse and worse. As far as the lumpy feeling, I don't notice it very much. I'm a stomach sleeper and my face is jammed into the pillow every night and I fall asleep easily and never even notice the lumps. In short, I'm pretty happy with it. The only downsides are the cost and that it tends to run firmer than you might expect. It is often on sale on QVC and that will reduce the cost.

These pillows are actually great. I've seen the owner peddling them at the MN State Fair year after year and finally bought a few last year. Best pillow I've ever owned. Just have to keep throwing them in the dryer to fix that lumpyness and to keep them "full/thick." It obviously isn't for everyone, but the points you brought up I actually do prefer.

Agreed. Held off until now that they are down to $20-$30. Very Cin for stable. I used their decision maker thing on their website which allows you to enter a ton of things about yourself and how you sleep. 6 different kinds. Some are only for side sleepers, some for all, some for big guys, some for tiny women, etc.

My husband and I have my pillows and we both love them. And I love that it can be washed. You need to wash it first so it’s not that lumpy. Sometimes it will look like it might be to think. There is a Learning curve with this pillow but once you use it it will be your favorite pillow. I also like a flat pillow. You need to look at all the different pillow styles and take the sleeping survey to find the correct pillow.

Mom and my brother use one firm each, while I sleep on two mediums as I need my head raised up a bit to prevent nasal congestion so I can breathe at night. Love My Pillow. Had two of them for a few months now. First one was the recommended thickness/firmness for my weight. It was WAY too firm. I use it under my legs or for sitting up to read now. The second one was the Goldie Locks of pillows. I love being able to re-shape the pillow and it holds the shape through the night. Like the reviewer said, everyone is different. I'm a side sleeper and will never go back to another pillow.

Great review. We've been wondering about these pillows. Thanks for this. Bottom line for me is that I'd never spend that much money on a pillow. Price is just completely unjustified to me, and it seems very snake oil-ish. I have night seizures, so I sleep very elevated on two foam core pillows. They're like $8 each, and I buy one new one once a year.

I have a tempurpedic pillow and it’s amazing. It wasn’t cheap and my first expensive pillow and I don’t regret it. I also got a 2nd pillow which is a full down pillow from Target for about $60 and it too is really really great. I used to be a road warrior for my company last year doing a lot of hotel stays and even the most expensive hotels with the best beds and pillows left a bit to be desired. So much so that I eventually just threw the Target pillow in my car if I had to go out of town.

The "lumps" are round foamy pellets, and they provide the means to conform or mold it to your head, or to bunch it up if you prefer. I used to use 2 pillows, but now I only need the MyPillow. I love mine. I filled out the questionnaire to get the right color coded pillow. I sleep on my side, and what works for me so well is that it keeps my neck straight all night long because it doesn't get flatter. When you were laying down I saw that your head was angled upward a bit. That means it's not the right thickness for you. If mine wasn't matched so well to me it wouldn't work nearly so well. Edited to add that if you sleep on your side, in order for the pillow to work properly, only your neck and head should be on the pillow. Having any part of your shoulders on the pillow means your neck can never be straight.

This guy should have purchased the Medium support level if he was going to buy a Classic MyPillow (instead of the Firm, which is clearly indicated on the box shown at the beginning of this review). If he still wants a thinner pillow than the Medium Classic, he could purchase a Premium MyPillow in the Yellow support level, which would contain 60% less fill than the pillow he tested. The Yellow support level would give him approximately the same amount of separation between his head and his mattress (or arm) as his own pillow which he compares. The Premium MyPillow would also be easier to shape under his neck because of the 2" gusset (side panel). He states more than once that his wife likes it. As for me, I originally got the Premium MyPillow in the White (Regular) support level, which provides the same amount of support as the Classic Medium MyPillow. I exchanged for the Yellow support level because I am a very small person. After the exchange, I started sleeping like a baby for the first time in my life. As of the date of my response to this review, I have been sleeping on my Yellow for over 5 years. It is still as amazing and supportive as the day I got it. I can also wash and dry it in the machines as often as I want. So, I can always have a nice clean pillow without having to worry that laundering will destroy it, which was a big problem with every pillow I attempted to use in 48 years of attempting to sleep (Detecting a theme yet?) on cheap throwaways. Now, ... I suppose that if a person really doesn't care about having to buy a new $10 throwaway pillow every 6 months to a year (costing from $100 to $200 for one person for 10 years---the length of the MyPillow warranty) and if filling up landfills with (garbage) pillows doesn't bother his or her conscience, or if or a person is incapable or too lazy to wash a pillow, then perhaps spending two to four times as much money and 10-20 times as many minutes or hours going to stores to buy more throwaway pillows might make some limited kind of sense. To me, this type of thinking is questionable, at best. Personally, I would much rather save my money, save my time, save my gas, save the wear and tear on my car, save the money from staying out of chiropractors' offices, save the landfills, save the planet and save my health, all at the same time. MyPillow uniquely makes all of these savings possible. In fact, I love this pillow and never sleep on any other brand of pillow. When I travel, which I do several times per year, MyPillows always go with me! If this pillow is "lumpy" then the "lumps" are some of my best friends when it comes to quality of sleep. If a person really feels that his or her MyPillow is too lumpy, there is a simple and easy solution which I am always happy to explain to anyone who asks. I cannot think of a single good reason not to try a MyPillow. On the other hand, I can think of at least several hundred reasons to try one. My first hundred or so reasons are the $$$ I have already saved by owning as many MyPillows as I do (one of almost every type). That's just in pillow cost savings over the first five years! If anyone is still unconvinced, besides the 10 year warranty, Mike gives everyone who purchases a MyPillow directly from the company a 60-night money back guarantee. Unless my math is messed up (At least in this case my math is perfect!), those are 60 more great reasons to take a chance. I am convinced that 90+ percent of people who are properly custom-fitted for their very own Premium MyPillows will become MyPillow sleepers (not insomniacs) for life. Nuff said!!!

I have neck issues from two whiplash sports injuries in my twenties and had been looking for a pillow that I can sleep on comfortably in any position without waking up in pain about half the time. I have probably spent about $500 on pillows over the years. Down, memory foam, shaped foam and none were perfect. Good memory foam pillows were the best until I tried My Pillow. I tried this pillow, absolutely loved it & I have bad neck problems. So I gave everybody in my family one for Christmas, and now we’re all hooked. When I first took it out of the box, I thought it felt sorta weird & lumpy, but after one night I was sold. It’s the most comfortable pillow I’ve ever slept on & I’m not sure why exactly. Lol! 2¢ Chicks I love mine! You are supposed to pop them into the dryer for a few minutes before using them! And that lumpy goes away when you do that. I've also washed mine.

2¢ Chicks: My husband refused to use it when new for the same reason as the man in the video. He was used to a thin, smooth pillow. So I took it. Broke it in. Fell in love. One night he went to bed earlier than me because he was fevered. His fever broke and soaked his side, so he rolled to mine. I have had to fight him to get to use it ever since. So he says we're buying another one. To break it in, I turned it over every time I turn my body over so it would wear evenly (still do). If I sleep on the same side all night, I just turn it for the next night. After giving it some time to "break in", you can still feel the lumps when you run your hand over it, but as soon as you put any pressure, that lumpy feeling just disappears, and you have nothing but soft, luscious support.

Sir, hearing that you are a side sleeper, and seeing that thin pillow you said you like to sleep with...I'm afraid you're not getting proper neck support! Will you please review the "Core" pillows?! They are expensive, but I've never looked back! The neck support is amazing!! It isn't overbearing, yet it's enough! A lot of people could benefit from these if only they knew about them, and had a good unsponsored, unbiased view of them!

I have a total of 5 My Pillows.....King Size, Queen & Full. As far as the lumps....they don't even register to me or I dont find them a detriment.... If you dont like a thicker pillow choose the "white" ( regular) ...if you prefer the least amount of fill then choose the "Yellow". I have a King size "Green" which is on the firm side. I also have a Standard "yellow" pillow which is probably the lightest, thinnest and least filled pillow. Lastly my oldest pillow a standard " white" is 8 years old...its still comfortable and used daily....the covering is starting to thin out however the fill is remarkably intact. I would compare it to that old comfy denim Jeans You will NEVER throw out!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND these Pillows....you just have to be sure and find the " Sweet spot" which is the ideal fill "color"

I purchased the 2 pillows with the 2 travel pillows. I used 1 travel pillow in my Louis Vuitton to keep the shape, the other one is somewhere in a closet. 1 of the bed pillows I put in my dog cage for him and the other one after I got tired of trying to get it comfortable by rolling and folding it up it's on the side of my bed for the cats to sleep on and I went back to my Walmart pillows. Don't waste your money on this. It kept me with a headache and neck ache. The reason I didn't return it is because I didn't know what I did with my paperwork on it.

I bought two pillows at Walmart today because I’ve been waking up with migraines. The first one is the beauty rest aquacool memory foam pillow. The second was my pillow. The aquacool is better by a mile. The my pillow is annoyingly lumpy, and just a normal 20.00 pillow with a 50.00 price tag. The aqua cool is soft, firm, and always cool because of the air flow system. Which you get all for I think 10.00 cheaper than my pillow

My favorite pillow uses recycled plastic bottle shredded filling. The nice thing about that is wash two at a time, and then it fluffs-up and dries so fast, as the plastic does not absorb water like foam does. They feel very goose-down like, I bought 2 for $14.00 at a local members discount big box a few years ago.

I've been sleeping on a solid latex foam pillow for over 20yrs. It was an expensive purchase, but the pillow is exactly the same now as when I bought it over 20 yrs ago. The latex itself does not harbor bacteria, and the cover can be washed regularly. It is absolutely one of the best purchases I have ever made. This pillow will outlive me. Thought about getting a "My Pillow" but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Love your channel, BTW.

EDIT: now I'm going on 3 weeks, and still haven't had a bad night of sleep since I bought this pillow. So far, it is the best pillow I've owned, and I have tried many different pillow types, hardnesses, and thicknesses. I have had sleeping problems over the years since about the time I turned 30, and after I bought this pillow, I have slept like a rock every day since. The price was a bit steep, but I figured I couldn't put a price on a good night's sleep, and if this pillow lasts longer than the run-of-the-mill pillows I buy at Wal-Mart for $10 a pop (those last me 3 months tops) then I'll save money in the long run. I forgot to add that it doesn't store heat like most other pillows I've used, and generally stays cool throughout the night which is a big plus.

I, recently, got two. At first, it did feel lumpy, but then it smoothed out. There are different classes of these. I have the Classic. I came here to find out how to adjust it. One thing is for sure, I have had deep sleep like not in a long time. I had a favorite pillow, but, of course, they stopped making them. MyPillow is what I'm using, for now.

The pillow is adjustable. Just bunch up the filling for thicker pillow or spread the fill out for a thinner pillow. Had mine for a year and love it.
