My grandparents used to plug their Christmas tree into a Clapper. Every time someone would laugh really loud at the Christmas Eve party the lights would turn on and off. 😄

We tested and reviewed one a few years back and while overall we liked it .. after having a cold with a bad cough it was like having a strobe light.! Keep up the great work!

Yes I was going to mention that it was a bit of a nuisance when someone is sick, as coughing turns it off (if paced right). I also was able to turn it on and off with a toy gun, saved clapping pains anyway. The modern clapper also can go off with an RF fob. Actually the best combo.

Thanks for the info on the clapper. Since they came out in the 1990s, (this is when I was a kid) I always wondered if it really worked now over 25 years later I finally found out that it does. Now I am willing to go buy one or two.

As usual a great demo. I just saw the clapper in a store the other day, they really have been around for many years. I remember having one when they first came out lol. First time seeing Daisy, and she is gorgeous. Bailey always makes me smile, so playful.

A friend of mine has the clapper for the lamp in her living room because the plug for the lamp behind her sofa is too hard to reach (she's short!) and it works really well! It's the most iconic and long lasting product, because it really works well!!

I love the clapper, I wanted one since I was a child because it was always so hard to get behind my Christmas tree, last year I got one for Christmas and its been the best thing ever ever since! During most of the year I have it hooked up to a map in my room because I don't like entering a dark room and I always have my central light off, it's great for that and turning it on and off is always fun. All that said it does suffer from some hiccups in how it works, as you demonstrate it occasionally turns off or in to random noises in the house, that said I find this hilarious so consider it a boon, it also doesn't always register your clapping as some times you might get a bit of a flat clap rather than a sharp one but that not often a problem, honestly it's been a delight to own.

I haven’t seen a commercial for The Clapper in a while. That grandmotherly lady clapping to turn off the lights was classic. In later years there was a guy in the ad. In your review, you didn’t address the sensitivity switch on the bottom the device. Did you test it and if so, does it make a difference?

Our clapper was also activated by laughing. Deep belly laughs can trigger one.. but it was from the 90s so it would be interesting to see if your modern one is as sensitive.

I got one of these from Amazon today. I just plugged it in and it started right up. I have to time out my two claps/knocks. Sure, there are remote might activation devices out there, but I wanted to try out the OG version.

It was a combination of the last knock on the door and daisy, you can see it cycles through with the knocks and then daisy makes a noise and it switches on

The problem me and my brother had with the clapper, is any loud sound would turn in on or off, when it was on clapping mode. We tried going to sleep with it, and it would turn on when you toss in bed, or get into bed. We hardly clapped to get work, we ether yelled, or made noise on the wall. Maybe they improved it from when me and my brother had it.

Really cool review I'm tempted to buy one now. Question, and it might seem very random but I have a heater and I'm wondering if it can be turned on and off with The Clapper? It has themostat, fan, low heat, and high heat settings.

But what happens if you have 2 clappers close to eachother? Will they both sync when you clap? Can you then possibly turn on multiple lamps at a time? Or do they not sync?

They will sync to each other, they are expecting the same noise, so as long as they hear the noise in the manner they expect, they will sync to each other unless you had one on and the other off then they would just stay opposite to each other.

I just bought one of these at walgreens, and its been a while since you posted this, and also we just passed thanksgiving and christmas is next so i think they only put them out around this time. i was wondering if you about if it works for other things other then lamps and lights? like tvs, radios, fans, hair striaghteners etc I want to try it but also not sure if it would mess it up on either side by plugging those things in if its not supposed to or doesnt work for that.

I'm having conflicts regarding this review on the one hand I'm amazed it works and works well but then on the other hand I'm not and this is probably due to me having inherited a set of ove gloves I bought my mom. They are an amazing product and one I would not hesitate to encourage spending 45 bucks for 2 on.

Just a suggestion, but you might want to consider putting links for more than just USA sites. Yeah, most of your viewership is probably in the USA, but including links to Canadian, European, and UK sites when applicable (as not all products are available in all countries) would be convenient, and if you happen to use affiliate links it couldn't hurt.
