This may have already been considered but I think it is a possible thread to look into. You’d need to get in touch with an art designer or animator to know for sure but is the mocap ape possibly modelled off of a real life orangutan in a zoo or sanctuary somewhere? If so is it possible that Ally Simpson is the principal keeper and/or main face to face trainer of this real world ape, and they honoured her and the actual animal by including her name in maurice’s biography? Without a designer contact the lead is quite hard to follow, you’d have to check the staff list for basically every zoo that has housed orangutans from the late 2000s to now, but it could, just COULD be possible. It’s the closest thing I can think of to an animal having a “relative”, either that or it may be an actual female orangutan that is the sister, mother or daughter of the real world mocap animation base, if such an animal does exist.

I read it as the name of an allied ape [human or other great ape] when you showed the screenshot. Having read it thusly, I can’t un-see it. Could it have been a mere auto correct error? Sampson is a character, but the word, “ally” looks suspiciously mobile device auto corrected in context.

my best guess is that ally Simpson is nova from war for the planet of the apes, they never say her name but mabye the script had her called that and the intern who made the wiki just didn’t actually watch the movies. and it calls her Maurice’s relative cause he sort of adopts her?

I have looked into the family for Maurice Evans and Karin Konoval, and they have no relatives that I can find with this name. I also did a deep dive into the study of Orangutans and there are very few Simpsons let alone an Ally. I did find a producer named Ally Simpson, but she has no realtion to the POA franchise. I have my wife looking too...

Rise is an 8, Dawn is also an 8 for me, but War is 10/10. Is it me or the blending between the CGI apes and the real backdrops hasn't aged that well? Also funny story: the day I went to see War I watched the first Apes movie. I synchronized in such a way that I had exactly the runtime of the first movie, until I had to go to the cinema. The last scene when Charlton Heston is on the beach and finds the big surprise at the end, the audio cuts out. First I thought that it was temporary, for dramatic effect, but then the whole scene was without sound. The copy that I watched, had botched audio and I had the effect of the ending ruined before seeing the new Apes movie. Funny and pointless story XD
