I really appreciate these even handed reviews of the show since I feel like discourse on TRoP is Chernobyl Reactor 4 levels of toxic to the extent that it was impossible to get a consensus on it. Also though I love video essays, I miss having the ability to not have to dedicate an afternoon to learning about a piece of media.

I’m glad the incredibly entertaining “angry gamer” youtube thumbnails were brought up here. Some of my favorite youtube thumbnails would never have come to be if it weren’t for this show or the halo one everyone was mad about. Though nothing will ever top podcast thumbnails crafted “by Angry Joe Himself”. it’s like they made 30 angry gamer thumbnails and haphazardly stapled them all into one illegible mess. EDIT: Also, the level of restraint the show runners demonstrated by *not* including a cute, marketable puppet/animatronic baby goblin/gremlin/dobby mascot character in their $500 million tv show… It’s almost commendable. Gosh these reviews sure are enjoyable. I'm having a very good time. A much better time than I had watching any Amazon show. Except Amazon Trail. But that was a game, not a show. And my memories of it may be colored by nostalgia for a simpler time. Or perhaps the time wasn't simpler, but the depiction of it was.... much like this Amazon show. Oh no, I've made a circular argument that's undermining my point. The point is, I appreciate this video and the previous set, and actually also all of the other Nativebirds videos I have seen so far. Just, wildly enjoyable, both in content and in presentation. Thanks.

Dear Mr. Birds, I will have you know that everyone that I know personally (myself included) has at one point or another "tried to get into" The Lord of the Rings books, and subsequently given up before finishing the first one. The fact that you actually did just that for this series speaks not only to your own Herculean determination, but also says to me, someone who has never seen any of Amazon's The Lord of the Rings™: The Rings of Power™, that it is in fact a very significant show, deserving of only the most polarizing, hyperbolic reaction

I think there is a way to admit that RoP is a dumpster fire without having to attribute all its shortcomings to "these woke leftists who are ruining everything". But what we certainly need is more civilised discourse and your video was not only civil but also entertaining, plus it highlighted the major issue with RoP: that's boring and forgettable.
