Sunday morning in Canada. 2 weeks until we go back to our place in central Mexico. My daughter fried up some tostadas, my husband had made some delicious frijoles negros “volteados” and we had turkey tinga (made with leftover turkey from our Canadian Thanksgiving). The tostadas with all the toppings were delicious, but still could not replace going to a local open air stand like the one in your video for some quesadillas and tacos! It all looked so good. Counting the days!
@MyTrishAdvisor2 жыл бұрын
Awwww what a sweet comment it all sounds delicious!!!! How smart to make tinga with turkey! I bet that was soooooo good! For the longest time I would never eat anything with the word tinga in it because I always felt like it meant tongue LOL I have no idea why but I did. I have tinga de Pollo empanada today actually haha

Absolutely love your videos. You’re so honest and REAL. Diego’s a hoot too. Happy for you two. We’ll be in PM January 1 through March 30. We want to tour someplace new. We’ve been to PdC, Cozumel,Tulum, Cancun and Isla Mujeras, so any suggestions. We are in our 70’s so no big physical things such as zip lining. We liked the cenotes but not necessary to revisit one. No car but can take ADO etc. Thanks. 🎉😍♥️

Hi Trish! I am from Iowa originally, but live in St Louis. I have visited Quintana Roo many times over the years with Secrets Capri Riviera being a favorite place, but I believe they were sold a couple of years ago. I have stayed on Isla Mujeres my last 3 trips, including for Dia de Los Muertos this year. I am thinking of visiting Puerto Morelos in February and staying at the Zoetry. I am wondering how the sargasso is at the beach typically in the month of February.

Nov to March we have the least amount or Sargasso. Enjoy Zoetry looks devine!

The piloncillo (cones of dark brown sugar) is much less processed than refined sugar, so it retains some trace nutrients (small amounts of vitamins and minerals) which you won’t find in white sugar. The taste is much richer, and it is used in many traditional beverages, such as café de olla and atoles, and in sweets. In some Latin American countries it’s called “panela” (which I know is a kind of cheese in Mexico - the joys of international Spanish).
@MyTrishAdvisor2 жыл бұрын
Thank you!!!!!! I have never used it but I think they offer times use in in cafe de olla too I think! I need to learn more about it! So many things to learn haha. I appreciate you!
@mwiebe26632 жыл бұрын
@@MyTrishAdvisor In Puebla (and I’m sure other areas), you can get little mini piloncillos, the cutest little cones of this delicious barely processed sugar to stir into your coffee. They take a while to dissolve, but while enjoying a coffee with a friend or spouse, you can stir and taste, stir and taste, until its just the right sweetness. Not practical for a busy, need to get to work morning, but they are so darn cute!

Norma has good food but if your not a local they do make you wait while they serve the locals. Very frustrating
@MyTrishAdvisor2 жыл бұрын
I do not think that at all. I have been going there for 6 or 7 years and she treats everyone the same for sure. These last few months she now has a place where you write your own order so you just gotta grab it and write what you want. I believe she has put that in place not because she has gotten so busy. Because normally we would just walk up and basically shout our order to her. Haha. So to keep up better now she has is write it down.
