Love real time videos... really great for learning! Stress and all! But love the process of watching the weather and planning way ahead of the airplane.

Did the Atlanta-Plant City run several times. Had to divert to Lake City for those thunderstorms one day. Fun to hear familiar airport names and places. Good of them to point out Warner Robbins; Moody near Valdosta was one that always made me keep both eyes open, although a little further apart. Betting there are quite a few airliners parked in Macon right now with reduced flight schedules.

For the 2nd takeoff during my first solo, I was given instructions for a taxiway intersection departure. My CFI was very proud of how I handled it all (it was plenty of room) since we'd NEVER gone over something like that.

Would have to say since I am not instrument rated, I was a little disappointed that this trip couldn't be flown VFR. It would have been much more helpful for me. However, I was able to learn some tips anyway. For example the observation of barometric pressure along airports is something we all learn but it was quite interesting how you put it in use. Thank you for making the video.

Are you based in Ocala? I'm over in Umatilla, did my Twin engine Commercial ride in Ocala before I went to the Airlines. Love that wrap or paintjob on your plane

That was for sure a learning moment when you discovered that it was water in the static port that indicated a false descent of 2,000 feet per minute. At night, and in the clouds might have made a far less experienced pilot go nuts.

I was sweating it that was for sure. Took me a second to realize what was going on.

@@MzeroAFlightTraining In a situation where you had no visual clues, do you just trust the majority of the instruments which still align together [i.e. attitude indicator and airspeed] to know what to discredit as faulty readings?

Water in the static port explains the bad VSI, but what's the reason the autopilot wouldn't disconnect initially?

@@MzeroAFlightTraining they must have have repaired the jet unless this video was recorded last year. That plane had an accident with Dale, His wife & 1 year old daughter last August flying into Statesville Municipal 0A9. Not really sure why they didn’t land at KTRI the airport that is closest to Bristol Motor Speedway

Much more difficult flight without an auto pilot
@MzeroAFlightTraining4 жыл бұрын
Hey John! It can be more difficult but it's so important to gain that true piloting technique and experience without autopilot first to help build your situational awareness and skill. It makes a big difference.
