Focus on the small basic things before diving into Tuning ECUs. I'm a 3rd year Auto Technician apprentice I can tell you No qualified mechanic likes having a student wanting to run before they can walk. Learn what the things are first. Then learn how they work. Only when you understand how the whole system works you can understand why it does what it does & how to then change it. Without blowing it all up.

At the risk of showing my age, I vividly remember the slow cars at Le Mans in 1978 were the ones that made all the noise. Blam.....blam..... blamblamblam on the overrun into the chicane, and then way more noise coming out. The really fast cars: the Alpine Renaults and the Martini Porsches were comparatively quiet. Sometimes it felt like all you could hear was the turbo whine as they went past with a whoosh.

And im workin on a couple more things like a throttlebody from a tundra and upgraded coils but i was wondering if this stuff alone can create a small burble, it literally sounds like a get small burbles on decel now

I have a Nissan 370z that had intake and exhaust mods done to improve flow efficiency and then a dyno tune to optimize the F/A ratios and ignition timing across the rev range. I didn't ask for but I got a very slight burble tone that occurs sometime on deceleration. I have to admit that it does sound good and is apparently not damaging the engine or catalytic converter, so I'm not going to change it. I think the main drawback is that it's causing to use a little more gas than it normally would. Stock, the engine was so quiet that you could hardly tell it was running unless you were looking at the tachometer.

Curious about one thing, with BMWs since they introduced OPF exhaust filters for the EU cars and then for US spec cars the amount of pops and burbles front the stock exhaust pretty much disappeared. There’s a video here on KZbin where they compare a 2020 to a 2021 M340i where you can clearly ear the difference. Does the OPF filter has this side effect?

So basically, it's turning your exhaust system into an afterburner. However, since a 4-stroke is a torque based engine, you don't get the increase in power that you get from a thrust based engine.

I'm trying it on my old Honda (D16Z6 OBD1). I works fine at around 3k RPM but not that good in the higer RPM range. I have the timing all retarded (-6°) and added some fuel. AFR Gauge reads rich at righer RPM and normal (about 14) around 3k RPM. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong in the higher RPM range? Too much fuel (if it's even possible)? Too retarded timing?

This is a nice video. I have absolutely no interest in adding extra burbles and pops, washing down my cylinders on decel, or anything like that... But it is interesting to see how they go about doing it. Makes sense. I do wonder though with the retarded timing If you're ending up with a burn going off while the exhaust valve is open. That could overheat the valve the same as anti-lag does... Even if the chamber and plug becomes cooler which is great if you're on the verge of detonation in racing... But if you're doing something in racing that wears out the exhaust valve it's not a big deal as long as it lasts the full race because you can swap it out

Tryna go stage 1 bm3 on my BMW 328i 2015 model (EWG) I rly do t want extreme agressive burbles, just a nice subtle aggression of the car Im think of having tiny bit or none on Comfort, and a semi agression on Sport. For thebduration of Burbles i wouldnt exceed 2 seconds. Is this healthy for engine longevity and exhaust system? Or should i go even lower in terms of duration time? I’m tryna get the cooling effect mire than the cool sound tbh i’m more into longevity and taking car of the beast ❤️

Hi. I have a m4 with a pops and bang tune and I did a spark plug and oil change and the car started misfiring. I checked compression,coils,injections,spark plugs and they all fine but the car still misfiring. On a diagnostic test it doesn’t even showing up codes sometimes or it will say misfire detection injector switched off cylinder 5 then it will stop showing it and bring up a different cylinder. Could the misfiring be caused by the tune or do I have a faulty motor

LOL mine is a MK6 GTI...HOWEVER it only happens at 4200 rpm and above. So daily regular driving you'll never hear it unless I am in manual mode and holding the gear to rev that high. There are some cars around that no matter what RPM or drive mode it comes on. Now THAT is super annoying!

Bro showed 4cyk and 6cyk little sputters show some hellcat or corvette or some big block v8 pops and bangs they will rip your ears out you feel v8s in your chest not even with the pops there’s not 1 v6 I’ve been near that will rip your eardrums like the sound of a v8. If your going to make a vid make a real vid enough with these little puny engines get the real gas guzzlers that dump loads of fuel 😂 and shoot 3 foot long flames. Something about the v8s that cause the loudest explosions

Great explanation, really appreciate it. I'm driving a Jeep Sahara with the 3.6 Pentastar and I've installed an Edelbrock Supercharger, running the Edelbrock tune. She runs great and dyno'd 330 to the rear wheels (manual transmission) with 33" tires but she needs a bit more growl. Still has stock intake and exhaust, so looking at an axle back to open it some and maybe a small amount of burble to seal the deal.

It's incorrect to say all Burble tunes are caused by firing unburnt fuel in the exhaust system. Correct and well setup Burble tunes target a lean lambda on decel along with negative timing and this starts the burn late and with it being lean, the burn takes longer and is still occurring when the exhaust valve opens. It's not just a case of dumping fuel down the exhaust.

funny thing if u want burbles on engine that is not totally heat soaked turn down the fuel af mixture with afr leaner is burning slower and also is warmer so you can get those burbles in exhaust that is not glowing red dont thank me just prepare money for a rebuild because its literally oposite of what burbles are for you will put heat into the exhaust if its not best quality it will start cracking and you may overheat valves well in most cases you will make a huge fire cracker out of your muffler before valves got damaged my launch control made my muffler look like its pregnant but it didnt explode yet 😉
