I'm assuming you can use zddp additive because the 2006 Mazda 3s 2.3L engines have flat tappet lifters not hydraulic is this correct?

You have to get the appropriate size tappet (lifter) to bring the clearance into range. The dealer sells them.

@@Trainwheel_Time i think he means the procedure to switch them out, get yourself a good manual as you have to remove the camshafts to remove the tappets (and critical to keep the engine in time as the cams and crank will basically be free to move, basically don't do it unless you really know what your doing)

You said 3.5 L but in the description is says 2.5. Could you correct please

It’s a 4cyl engine, obviously not a 3.5L
