TL;DR If anyone listened to the entire video and found out what it is we all knew, putting it in the comments would be appreciated. My best guess is that she was actually a dude. Or that the judging was rigged. Or she was secretly working for the American's. Or she is the reincarnation of a stunning and brave women form Borneo but because she'd survived by eating other humans, wanted to keep that secret. Or maybe she's a lesbian. Or maybe there is no secret but she has a book coming out and has to stir up interest. Or maybe her grandfather was a Nazi. Or a Rothschild. Or maybe she's an Eskimo. I wonder how she transformed herself into a black American gymnast and then back into her original self. Does that mean she's a shapeshifter? Or a Dominatrix? So many questions.

I can’t stand Simone biles. She is very overrated because of her tumbling. When it comes to gymnastics there is a lot more to it. Simone biles is not good when it comes to to required dance skills. She should have spent her time taking more ballet and working with her choreographer. Instead she tumbled which is how she got higher scores. Simone is not a team player and a very selfish gymnast. I hope she retires soon so gymnastics can get back to the sport it used to be. For those of you who don’t agree with me take some time and watch gymnastics from the late 1990’s. It’s a much better sport when the gymnasts perfect their whole routine. Biles often can’t properly land her tumbling passes because she is not good enough to perfect them. Olga Korbut is also a bit overrated. She has a huge chip on her shoulder and thinks Nadia beat her because of government coverup. She failed to acknowledge her poor performances.

The word freely is relative. Multiple injuries, some are severe, will hunt and hurt her all her life. And the word free you think it’s only existing in the US? She didn’t have a childhood like every top athletes do miss. And it’s not true at all that they are not recognized by that terrible communist regime. I personally know many top and Olympic athletes from different parts of the Earth including former communist countries. All have or had a home, some of them managed to have a mansion, cars others just dreamed about it and on the top all free. They didn’t have to work at all they were send to other countries as representatives of some bullshit agency. But one thing is true, they were watched closely by their countries also bullshit agencies. Her life was settled by the SU demise, so, she didn’t needed to tell lies after that time about atrocities happened to other Romanians if it happened at all. The terror came from their leader Mr Chauchesku and not from the Soviets. They were pampered like princesses by both the local and the foreign leaders and in the main time they lived like kings. Other prominent sportsman’s couldn’t reach the same height as she did and that is hidden by all the private trainings she did with that pedophile coach of her. Surprised? Don’t be! Almost all are! If they are males than it’s understandable, and if they are females, all of them are lesbians. It’s no wonder that in female sports the managers or coaches are lesbians especially in the US. And that I can’t call freedom, if they have to live their young years in fear of being violated. The problems are far fetched in the US and in the Western world. I’m sure that even she had some happy hours with other team members. It’s disgusting to sexualise sports including childrens but hey it’s a free country as most US citizens are saying and hurrying home to have happy times with their siblings and in worst cases with their mother. If that is freedom in your mind, sorry dude, but we are both on a different pages.

@@jonothandoeser Someone who is a high level athlete doesn't think about beating an opponent's country and hope to win for their own country. They live to beat anyone who competes against them in sports, or cards, or just about anything that can be a competition. Nadia appeared to be fiercely independent of Olympic norms in what a person could do or how they would perform before the crowds and how they would let their personality - or one that was really attractive to others, shine through. That is what inspired confidence building in others. They started believing they could express themselves in ways that showed their personality better and win. And so they did.

Nadia brought major interest to gymnastic. She was the first that I noticed to actually enjoy her floor exercise and she knew how to feel the music which gave an unheard of performance. Yes, it was, and that particular move was banned afterwards. Considers too extreme and dangerous. Olga Korbut changed the floor exercise back then that still reigns. She changed it from the more beautiful, classic style to one of cutesy moves and and completely different from the prior. Obviously, I prefer the older style. The Korbut style? I hope it goes back or into a new more classical style. I would love to see a gymnast bring it about! I dislike everyone doing that same cute style. It’s boring to me. I like the grace and beauty of the old style. Maybe some gymast(s) will come up with that again. Nadia was the best. I watched those Olympics in 1976 and remember everyone being so excited about and blown away by her. What a jewel she was, sparkling in spite of her serious demeanor. I’ll never forget her. It’s a shame her abuse didn’t get recognized back then!

I'm 59 now, never took gymnastics, but have never forgot her, my inspiration!!

So true, she inspired so many to join Gymnastics. When I was in it, it was just a fringe sport. We never had many spectators, and even relatives of mine asked me why I was wasting my time in gymnastics, since the “real” sports were baseball and football. Boy they were stupid, it helped me to be coordinated and in better shape than most, even up to now that I’m 78!!!

Absolutely true. I was in gymnastics but also ran all the time. I'm 70, and have now weathered a lot of storms in my life. Gymnastics was part of the developing of fitness and strength, and coordination.

Actual footage is owned by NBC television (or whoever) Any use would lead to the creator of this video receiving a copywrite strike. 3 strikes and you lose your channel. You have to be very careful even using these "creative common" photo's. Many photos are also copywrite material.

I'm sure it is out there. If it isn't the owner of the video, they got a copyright problem. Small channels don't care if they make money playing Google ads on their video. This channel is legit and deserves whatever ad revenue it can generate. Maybe 5 or 6 dollars per 1000 views. That would be zero if they get a copyright strike. Do it twice more, and your channel is done

I remember seeing Nadia on tv when she first scored that perfect 10 and thought she looked like a sad withdrawn little girl. I knew nothing about her other than her gymnastics success. It's so nice to see that she grew up to be a strong, and very beautiful woman after overcoming such adversity. Bart Conner really struck Gold there!

I enjoyed this presentation on Nadia, very nicely done. I think she and Bart are great examples of Olympians who took the talent and achievements they had as young adults and really made a contribution to the world with it. I'm glad to see her still making contributions to gymnastics in a big way, because with all she went thru as a young adult, she must know what not to do, to keep young athletes from having damaged bodies and souls. Hopefully the gymnastics world will be a healthier place for young athletes thanks to the contributions of her and Bart.

I remember the judges had to explain the scoreboard could not register her score. Because the crowd threatened to riot believing they had scored her a 1. They said they would recalibrate the scoreboard for future events to properly reflect her score. Nadia was one of my heroes. But another hero showed at that Olympics. Most people have forgotten. A male gymnast. Shun Fujimoto. Fujimoto- San scored a 9.85 on the still rings. A high score. Bug deal, right. It's not a 10. Fujimoto San performed his entire routine with a broken femur! His.15 liss was because he did not land perfectly. 1976 had some amazing athletes. Teodora Ungereneau. Average score in competition9.85. Best friends with Nadia Comaneci. Who always scored higher. Leon Spinks Michael Spinks John Tate ( silver medal. 6 months as a boxer) Sugar Ray Leonard Lyudmila Turischeva. Russian and world champion. 36 yrs old Olga Korbut Mark Spitz 7 gold medals There were some great people there

There's no question that Nadia Comaneci is the queen when it comes to gymnastics, Back in the 70s and 80s the entire World was in love with the petite Romanian who embodied endless courage and constant pursue of perfection. The next one to give us that was our own Mary Lou Retton in 1984. I'm glad to hear that Nadia has a family and a good life.

After reading some of the Many Comments. I'm Still wet Eyed with Soft Tears, for Nadia. IN 1976 at the Time of the Olympics in Montreal, we were Moving from Canada. To Permanent relocation in Wyoming, USA. I'm a Dual Citizen of both Canada, & the US. At that Time I was 17 Turning 18, & I Totally Adored the Petite Little Romanian Gymnast, from the First Performance on. Even at 14 Year's of Age, She was just so Phenomenal it was Unbelievable to See. As though She was An Angel 😇😇 who the Lord had Granted, Her presence on this Earth for Us mere Mortals too See, & Experience. To Dear Nadia, it's been 46 Year's Ago that I First saw You Performing in the Olympics then. You Amazed Me, Hypnotized, Me and Encouraged Me, too always Endeavor too Excel, or give My All. Thank for all You did & Accomplished over Those Four plus Decades. Congratulations on Your Wonderful Life, Your Marriage, Motherhood, & Your Husband Bart Conner, Has got to be a Truly Lucky PERSON TO of First Meet You, Befriended, and then Eventually was Blessed to Marry You. Congratulations again & Thank You so Much. May God Always Bless You.🇨🇦🇺🇲🇨🇦🇺🇲🇨🇦🇺🇲👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏
