I use at least one anti oxidant serum every single day on my skin and have done for years - I think of them as part of my daily regime and I think they have protected me from sun damage, pollution and stress. They are like eating five a day but for your skin - I just wish I'd taken them down on to my chest (but more of that in an upcoming video).
Here are my favourite antioxidants for all budgets from £5 to £130.

Timeless do a lovely lightweight C + E + Ferulic for USD 24.95 and they ship internationally. (I live in Australia and have had no adverse shipping issues) They also do a lovely CoQ10 and Matrixyl 6 synthe. We can get Drunk Elephant here and I’ve tried their Vitamin C but was underwhelmed with the results. I went back to Timeless.

You seem to be an insider in this skin care business and I appreciate your candid information. I believe in ingredients that are proven to work. How do you rationalize say one serum that costs $25.00 with exactly the same ingredients $150.00? We are seeing more and more of these options. I feel the really high priced ranges are selling magic and we all know about that.

Brilliant information. I'm a spa therapist and it's hard trying to explain antioxidants and their effects and benefits to clients skin. I recommend Voya My little Hero serum. It is oil based and doesnt have any fragrance and smells natural. There are seaweed extracts in Voya products which have anti-inflammatory effects too and not nearly as expensive as Creme de le Mer products.

Nadine I’ve really been enjoying sensora copper peptide serum. It’s available on amazon or via their own website. It’s a blend of copper, matrixyl 3000 in pure hylauronic acid. Has a really small list of ingredients that’s easy to understand. No fragrance. The pumps a little annoying but it’s a bargain I mix it with my skinoren to make the Azelaic acid play better with my other products. It’s worth checking out.

Hi Nadine, thank you so much for the information. Love that you give us choices! I have used both the Drunk Elephant and Timeless products. I tend to use the Drunk Elephant in the winter as it is not as drying as the Timeless. Drunk Elephant is more expensive, so I pick it up during the Sephora sale in Novemeber and then go back to the Timeless in the spring. Thanks again!

Nadine: I love your channel and you always have such great info. I am also a fan of skinceuticals and especially the C E Ferulic. Every time I get swayed away from it - I am always disappointed. I think it is the gold standard of antioxidants. So are you saying you use the ZO Skin Health as your moisturizer? I was going to buy the Skinceuticals Triple Lipid Restore cream but am not completely in love with it. It is nice but am just not sure if I need to spend that much on a cream. So I would use the ZO Skin Health followed by SPF? Any advice would be awesome. xoxo

Hello Nadine, hello ladies! Even though I am just 20 I do punch my face with antioxidants every day. After I wash my face in the morning I go straight in with a pea size amount of The ordinary’s vitamin C 23%, the one that is gritty, that I know you recommended it to be used at night, but I find that using a smaller amount and really rubbing it in my skin and also MIXING it with The ordinary’s Ferulic and Reveratrol serum works wonders and breaks down the gritty feel in such a way that I have no problem layering on top, other serums and make up. Then I let it absorb for a little bit and I follow with a peptide serum (buffet to be more precise) and a simple moisturizer or a SPF (depending on the season). The combination of vitamin c at 23%, ferulic, resveratrol and peptides seems to work really well for me in the mornings. Maybe the ladies that follow you or even you yourself can try this combination and see if it works. Kisses! :)

@@HarrisPilton789 hi there, I've only used a green tea serum from Topix/ Replenix, but it's rather up there in cost. I don't usually pay that much for anything skincare related, but there just aren't many green tea serums on the market. The reason why I like this one is that it's 90% EGCG which is the effective component in green tea and has been studied to be effective at free radical scavenging. It also has other good ingredients/ antioxidants PLUS it has a proper preservative (so it doesn't grow bacteria). If you can find this serum, try to get it at 30% off...still up there, but not as painful. :)

@NadineBaggott
@NadineBaggott 6 жыл бұрын
ReviveUK the daily use of acids is fine if you have breakout prone or sun damaged skin but lots fashionable because of the oil/balm cleanser trend that requires you to acid lotion to get rid of the last of the cleanser to prep your skin for water based products. If you use a rinse off cream or lotion cleanser and have balanced skin then you don’t need it. I prefer to sleep in an acid gel mask once a week to exfoliate x and yes overuse of acids on dry, sensitive and normal skins could strip the skin and irritate it

Can I ask a really stupid question? How do anti-oxidants compare with peptides? And can you/should you apply hyaluronic acid before or after if I have super dry skin normally? (I am not sure I should stop doing this as this is the first year in over a decade I've not had a face full of peeling white skin which normally happens every time the weather gets cold and air-con/heating everywhere goes on combined with the outside air... the only thing I did differently to previous years was boost my SPF and apply hyaluronic acid twice a day. This stuff is amazing) I already use vitamin C 30% at night, the EUK in the morning but am wary vitamin C at least doesn't gel well with other water based products so I normally give it 20 mins for the hyaluronic acid to settle in. Should I be applying antioxidants first to get the biggest boost and then waiting to apply hyaluronic acid 20 mins later (to avoid water based + antioxidants) or stick with what I had been doing?

Timeless is fantastic.If you are in Australia they do ship here - postage is quite a bump and the exchange rate doesn't help BUT it is still a great price and great products. I have been using their C,E, ferulic (apparently the same formula as Skinceuticals) for two years and notice the difference within days of not using it. I use there hyaluronic acid and Co Enzyme Q10 along with C,E, ferulic every day with a Paula's Choice antioxidant serum. Great combo. Does leave your skin very moist but I like a dewy look. Love Timeless. Well worth trying. - they have a thing where if you buy 2 things you get 20% pff, 3 gets 30% and 4 gets 40% (enter the code at the check, code should be on the home page). Also they often run a 'get 50% off' when you spend over US$75. It definitely a brand worth checking out.

I also like it Kensimzadi, I also ordered their co-enzeyme Q10, Matrixyl and synthe 6, they are also good products, the rest of my skincare from the Ordinary. Thanks again for your help.

So grateful for you always advising The Ordinary, I’ve got their 30% Vitamin C cream and 10% Argireline serum for lines. I previously used Deciem serums and liked them but glad that The Ordinary have such amazing active ingredients at such low prices!! It’s helped me really improve my skincare and I’m glowing!! I also use Glycolic & Salicylic acid treatments from Bravura, has anyone else used Bravura products and what are their thoughts? X

ive also heard the evidence re antioxidants working is very limited and only carried out by cosmectic companys. the array of products on the market is so confusing. I'm just sticking to tretinoin and spf which is proven.

Nadine super duper stuff, but I am confused... what do you wear under the CE ferulic.... I have splashed out on the skin ceuticals ( 38 bucks) after watching you and Trinny but I didn't catch what you put under it, I want to get it right this time! Thanks x

I really like this series, delving into an ingredient and giving product options. Thank you! I’d looked at Niod’s website but hadn’t understood that survival 0 is an aox serum. The price for an ounce of spf is too much for me but the price for an aox serum that I will just use a few drops is very reasonable. I do think that using multiple types of aox is beneficial, rather than just 1 or 2. For my sensitive skin, high doses of vitamin c are often too much. You didn’t mention Paula’s Choice Resist Aox serums. They are jam packed with a range of aox. I love to travel with them since they come in a tube and pack so easily. But at 38USD I am always looking for reasonably priced alternatives. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.

I’ve been ordering from Skindeva from USA for almost a year now...they are really efficient and ship really quick. I’ve been using timeless for a while now too...although I used to get it shipped USA to USA..my mall box USA address and then they would ship all my orders made fro various site to my uk address. Timeless is the uk now which is excellent but they never do the amazing seasonal offer that the USA site does but nevertheless makes it easier to get hold of now for us in the uk. X

I regularly use Drunk Elephant Vitamin C after a mild exfoliant in the AM. should the antioxidant serum be used before or after? I follow Vitamin C with The Ordinary's Buffet and Rose Hip Oil before moisturizer and spf

I would love to see a video on your weekly routine...how do you alternate products and what Not to combine. I for example use 3 nights TO retinol 2%, 2 nights acids, and 2 nights TO 23% vit c. Is it ok? What more should I incorporate in my routine and when. Thank you and congrats on your lovely videos....you are great!

Nadine and ladies, i would just like to know if you recommend The Ordinary's resveratrol and ferulic acid or their EUK 0.1% as an antioxidant? I was about to buy resveratol until i watched your and Brandon's interview where he stated EUK is his favourite? xx

What about The Ordinary's Alpha Lipoic Acid 5%? Its an antioxidant too, plumps my skin for 2 days after using it, you can feel it on the skin its working (tingles only at nose area), should be used 2 or 3 times a week and at night only. Can someone share their experience on this? :)

I just started (way late) using serums and just got the Drunk Elephant day kit from Sephora with the Vit C serum and I have super sensitive skin, and my skin loves it. I put it on first and then the Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior with all the Peptides and the Drunk Elephant moisturizer and my skin loves all of it. I’m waiting for my order of the ZoSkin daily defense and wonder if I’ll need to replace one of the products or if I’ll use that at night. It’s overwhelming to figure out what’s for day and what’s for night and in which order do you layer, but after about 2weeks I notice a change in my skin. My makeup isn’t settling into fine lines and looks really hydrated.

Hi !! great info ..One question you mentioned that the Skinceuticals CE Ferulic contains Vitamin C ..so it means that it would be enough with the serum ? .no vitamin C needed ? I do apply vitamin C every morning but would like to try the CE ferulic...Thanks for the help :)

Nadine, my old dermatologist suggested the Skinceuticals CE Ferulic for rosacea - do you think that could be quite problematic given the pH of most Vitamin C products?

Hi Nadine, if using an anti oxidant serum and hyaluronic acid serum, which would be applied first? I have a hyaluronic acid/matrixyl serum and it's slightly thicker than my anti oxidant serum.

I really like Timeless serums. They are full of good ingredients and are not expensive compared to most other serums on the market. And they work! The Timeless vit c has 20% vs the Paula's Choice 15% so why not get the extra 5% is my thinking. Nice video! xo xo

Good morning! I just have to say that I absolutely and totally dig you! I feel like you are honest about the total truth of skin care and products. I've recently turned 40 and totally slacked in healthy eating and a proper facial care routine over the last 2 or 3 years. I blame life hahah being a mom of 4, recently wed after 16 years with my guy, weddings are so amazing and EVERYTHING changes, moving and family and just, well, LIFE. I sort of threw the towel in, ate like trash and now my face (and energy) shows it! Common sense is that I can't buy anything that will be a total complete miracle. I have researched and read and read and read and watched many videos. I refuse to and have not spent gazillions of dollars on products. I refuse to call for the hype. I came across you in one of your girlfriends bathroom videos and I just loved you. I take your advice seriously. I've recently started .05 retinA among a couple other simple products because of you. Really, I do ramble on 😂 I apologize. I want to THANK YOU for your honesty, knowledge and recommendations! You are amazing at informing a layperson like me and making me feel like I CAN achieve my skin care goals. Thank you and have a wonderful day!
