What matters more than software choice is knowing what you're doing. Imo blender is the best software for starting out for free. TON of tutorials on KZbin and I haven't found a better community for 3D artists.

Agreed that you need to learn Maya only if you want to work in the industry because for beginers it's user interface takes time getting used to, but I've worked a lot in Maya in my last Job so now I don't find it that difficult now. In my current Job I have to use C4d due to media industry but still see many people using Maya and 3ds Max and C4d has very little user base, also you must have Octance or Redshfit to fallow it's tutorials and both renderes are not easily available. As for beginers, hobiest and freelancers I do recommend to start from Blender.

@Tanishq_XD If you can learn it than it will give you most benefit in the industry. But for just learning 3d and use as hobby than blender will serve you better as its free. Learning Maya will take time but will also reward you. Also there is on harm in learning two or more 3d softwares
