Enjoy the Channel Caleb. If you are going to do this properly and that involves inputting those speaker distances and room dimensions then you should be calculating it via a laser pointer measurer from Bosch or similar from your local hardware store. Just sayin 😉
@Caleb_Denison Жыл бұрын
@@stevenlawrence2232 I mean, that’s a great idea, but unfortunately the Dragon doesn’t allow that much granularity. Distances are input in increments of whole feet, no inches. Not even .5, unless there’s a setting I’ve somehow missed.

Like most high end gear from Nakamichi there is nothing else like it , and if you have deep enough pockets and a room large enough to do it justice, then just buy one. If you were in the audio industry back in the 80s, and or an avid audio guru at the time, you would know that Nakamichi had a cassette deck called the Dragon. Their direct competition, which I feel was a better cassette deck. was the Aiwa F990. I sold and used both back then and had the Aiwa in my Home System.

The only cassette deck I can remember sounding better than the Dragon was the Revox.
@Juraiprince Жыл бұрын
@@fonkenful Indeed! Back in the eighties, there were two kings of the castle as far as cassette decks were concerned. You were either Team Nakamichi Dragon, or Team Revox B-215. I couldn't afford EITHER, but I always leaned towards The Dragon if I had to pick one, though you also could NOT take the Revox deck lightly, as Studer was the king of the multitrack recorders and two track mastering recorders found in most all studios back then. Definitely a tough choice. I would take either one, even today! 😊🙌🏾
@Juraiprince Жыл бұрын
In an addentum that must be made to my earlier post, I foolishly forgot to place the other "king" of that audio cassette castle I mentioned: the Tandberg 3014a cassette deck. Built like a proverbial TANK, it was also the cream of the crop in the cassette deck world. I remember those days with great fondness, reading the reviews of these mentioned, as well as decks by Teac, Sony, Aiwa and Nikko, which made a very good three head deck (the D-600) that was affordable and gave me great joy using. Anyway, my apologies if I skewed off topic. Cheers and salutations to all! 😊🙏🏾
@fonkenful Жыл бұрын
@@Juraiprince I can only remember the impressions of machines I actually used, and possibly had a predisposition towards the Revox after owning two permutations of A77 (circa ‘73/74). The half track 15ips was definitely my favorite for a couple of small venue live recording sessions. The Crown SX 700 series was a vastly superior machine sonically, but not as user friendly, and felt like a lot more than just 8lbs heavier than A77 …. but I digress.

That was the best cassette deck ever made.When released in 1973, it listed for $1,000 but soon went up to $1,100. I was in my first hitch in the U.S. Army at the time and had to settle for the Teac 450 , 3rd in line below both the Nakamichi ‘Dragon” and the Nakamichi 700.
