Kadala curry Ingredients
Black Chana - 500 grams
Coconut Oil - 2 tbls
Onion - 1 large chopped finely
Curry Leaves a handful
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tblsp
Green Chillies - 2 nos
Chilli Powder - 2 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1 tblsp
Turmeric Powder - ½ tsp
Garam Masala - 2 tsp
Coconut small pieces - 1 cup grated
Salt to taste
firstSoak black chana in 2 to 3 hrs then take a pan ,add water and
soaked chana then cooked till they are tender and cooked through. and
keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan, Add coconut pieces,ginger garlic paste, onions, curry
leaves, chillies and saute till golden.
Then we add sauted onion and coconut pieces into the chana pan and
mix well
Then we heated red chilli ,coriander powder and garam masala ,then we
grind into the fine paste
Again we add redchilli and garam masala paste into the chana pan and
mix well
stir the masalas very well on a low flame and saute for a minute.
Add salt to taste and mix them well,then sauted for 3 to 4 minutes
Switch off the flame and serve curry with puttu or appams or idiyappam
.
INGREDIENTS
Rice -2 cup flour
Salt-¼ tsp
Water-1 cup
Coconut-1 cup grated
In a large bowl mix together rice powder, salt and water to a course mixture.
Mix well with both the hands so that lumps are not formed.
Heat up the vessel with water and allow water to simmer. Fill the
cylindrical puttu mould with the rice mixture layered with grated coconut. Fill
it till the top of the mould and cover with the lid. Place this mould on top of the
simmering water bath.
Steam passing through the lid hole shows that the puttu is cooked and ready.
Then we detach the mould from the boiling water bath and push the rice cake
with a long stick on to a serving plate.
