I plan to make my own custom muffler delete in metal shop class this May. No more weak sounding 2.5i for me! I might even post a video on it once it is installed Edit: the metal our shop class uses would rust too easily for it to last any longer than a year, and I couldn’t even get the muffler off cause the bolts seized. Oh well.

Is the rest of the exhaust system stock? Did you just get an axleback muffler delete? I have a 2012 outback 6sp and want it to sound like this!

Nope the exhaust bolts right up, the only "complication" is cutting a big enough hole for the exit.

Is this a muffler and resonator delete or just a muffler delete? I have a muffler delete already but doesn’t sound like yours

If ya do this with and Intank and tune you should see hp gains from a muffler delete I’m not sure much from a 4 cylinder but I saw gains with the 6 cylinder so

What did you use to cut the bumper for the tip? I like the look of the tip, but wonder if it's worth doing or just get the outback model.

I used a sawzall that I had, it's up to you really, i like the stright out look from this exhaust where as the outback specific one just points down.

You're description says you bought the legacy muffler delete. Nameless makes one for the outback as well, which do you think would be better? Also was the legacy one a direct fit?

I bought this one before they came out with the one for the outback Haha. It was a direct bolt on, the only thing I had to do was cut a exit hole as the piping is too short to go past the bumper. I'd say if your looking to get one buy, get the one for the outback if you dont feel comfortable cutting your bumper.

How bad is the drone while driving? Does the cvt transmission make it sound corny? Sounds good, I want to do this to my own outback.

Ricky Shaw its not too bad, you only really hear it around 2k rpms other then that its somewhat not noticeable

That sounds so good. I live in California and was interested in to see if it’s obnoxiously loud or not in person. The law states that any vehicle over 95bd is illegal. Do you think that it’s much louder than that? I have a 2011 Subaru Outback 2.5i

That I'm not sure I dont have a sound gauge to test to get the right readings. I can say it is noticeably louder then stock.

I was just thinking about doing this including the bumper cutout for the tucked tip. Shame the tip doesnt come out another inch or so more. The 5" muffler version i bet would look slick too.

armith yeah its definitely worth it, considering how limited the performance options are for the car.

Not only did we see a Subaru video on a AM muffler, but he also demonstrated to everyone else how long you need to wait to drive off, or revvv your engine.. minute max.. above like 50 degrees, to maybe 2min or 3 minutes max in super freezing climates or winters. Lol ** y’all just making yourself late for work that’s all lolol **
