Am taking Ap Chemistry and this helped me a lot i juts wish i didn't have to memorise 50+ polyatomics but after that this video was the best
@sylviavalek11 жыл бұрын
QUESTION: How do you know the charges of a polyatomic ion? Since it has 2 (or more) elements, there would be 2 charges, so which one do you use (the 1st or 2nd)? Or do you just look on the "Polyatomic Ions Chart" and that's the only way to find out the charge of a polyatomic ion?

How come when you were doing the crossing of the charges or the 2 and 3 one of them became negative and the other became positive? you can see at 2:57. Can you please explain?
@masoomamurad29118 жыл бұрын
Anna Lyashenko that was my question too
@ImprovisedStudios8 жыл бұрын
although some periodic tables don't have it listed, those negatives and positives are the group charges. Just look up a periodic table with them and you will see the ones above the groups.

Honors Chemistry for 10th grade is super easy. You go slowly since there isn't a rush to cover all of chemistry (That's for AP Chemistry). So long as you're fair with numbers (normal algebra) and have a general grasp of basic chemistry ideas you'll be fine. On a scale from 1-10 in terms of how easy it is: 8.

Mg is +2 because it is located in the 2A group. All elements in the 2A group lose two electrons. So instead of 6 positive protons and 6 negative electrons, it's actually 6 protons and 4 electrons. This makes it have a positive (+) 2 charge.

No. Fe is one atom with a charge of +2, Oxygen is one atom with a charge of -2. You have a basic compound of FeO. If there were 3 molecules you would have 3FeO, with 3 Fe atoms having a +2 charge and 3 O atoms having a -2 charge. They keep balancing out. Hope this helps.
