SA raised here, living in USA for the last 38 years. I made Peri Peri chicken livers two days ago. I do not use peri peri sauce, but kind make it in the pan as I go. Everyone here raved about it, and I thought northeastern Americans were unadventurous with food. lol Good eats. Cheap, healthy, tasty.

@@MikesGourmetKitchen I just made some more, adding chorizo sausage and gnocchi. Made a main meal out of it. Not authentic maybe, but really good. Spicy and healthy.

I think you should of browned the onions more before adding the tomato paste, I also think you should of browned the livers more before adding the liquid as now they are boiled more than fried but hey everyone to their own, looks nice

Hi Reeve ! I agree if i made them traditionally id follow a similar recipe but this is more a reindition of how Nandos does it 😀

...should HAVE browned...or, should've browned.

Not everyone knows how to cook, he's learning, I think this was his first time cooking liver. As you don't put water in liver as it releases its own... the whole video was a complete mess lol.

@@Everythings_A_Lie I was surprised he added water, but have tried it myself. Surprisingly it made livers very soft inside and I have fried it gently on the outside once all water was gone. Was very tasty tbh... plenty of ways to Cook food it seems

Onions were not browned. You never add tomato paste so early, cause the sugar in the paste burns. Livers need some colour before you add chicken stock, not water. My personal opinion.

Hi… I’m a South African living in the U.K. for the past 20 years… I noticed that you never marinated the livers in the peri peri sauce before adding this to the pan?! also, I couldn’t make out the spices that you were adding because you showed them to quickly.. anyway, lovely video and I’ve subscribed to your channel. Cheers Hendry ( originally from Benoni)

Hi Hendry nice to hear from South-africans abroad, i hope you enjoy the content. To answer your question i dont typically marinade the livers beforehand or overnight as it makes the meat cook down to a mash almost, i think the spices makes it too soft. Hope to see some more of your comments on future videos. Cheers 🍺
