I know, a long old comment on an old video. I've owned one of these for a while now and thought it might be useful to share my thoughts: I bought mine largely off the back of this review, and others, and am mostly very happy with it. It works well, it's very robust, and given how much you get for so little money it would be fair to wonder what corners might have been cut - seemingly very little. Nanrobot: The company was helpfulness itself and communication has been great. Especially useful as the same cannot be said for UPS, the delivery company. Safe to say I will NEVER use UPS again and I will think twice before ordering anything form any company again if UPS is their only delivery option, sadly the case for Nanrobot. Spares like tiers and tubes are standard sizes so you can buy locally and avoid UPS. Scooter: It's an excellent scooter and I pretty well agree with everything in this excellent review. I'll only add that I bought mine for riding off-road tracks around Kefalonia in Greece and I've yet to break it, but it has nearly broken me! Possibly not helped by my being in my early 50's. Tracks here tend to be made of sharp fist-size and smaller rocks and on this scooter it's a really bone-shaking ride - the suspension is fine for adsorbing bumps and jumps but does not smooth out a lumpy surface. I'm not experienced enough with off-road scooters to say if that's a common issue or not but it's something to keep in mind. -Performance - It's taken everything I have thrown at it with aplomb, it's very fast, and the steep gradients aren't an issue at all. -Batteries - Good so far. You wonder with a cheep scooter if they might have cheeped out - range isn't far off advertised and no signs of deterioration. -Build - All the parts are robustly made and I have been unable to break anything. However, one area where the low price shows is in the finishing. Castings retain their sharp edges and where they potentially rub on wires, cables, and tube valves, it's worth spending a little while with a hand file. Also, as the manual suggests, it's really important to check EVERY nut and bolt BEFORE riding for the first time. -Tires - The off-road ones I have are great. I will say if you intend to punish your scooter it's really worth replacing the very cheep innertubes with better ones and filling them with slime for security. While you're at it filing the casting edges off the rims, especially around the valve stems, is a good idea. -Brakes - Discs front and rear, no complaints. You will want to set up the 'ABS' to your liking: None or maybe low would be my suggestion. I do get a lot of worryingly loud dings off the discs as I ride over rocky ground so I wish there was an option to protect them better - nothing damaged or broken so far and I guess this is true of all scooters given the wheels aren't big. -Suspension - Beyond it being bone-shaking over really rough ground I have no complaints. I backed the rear off a bit as I don't weigh that much. The font is what it is, if you find the front wheel gets loose or out of alignment hold the nuts at the top still and shove a large Allen wrench up from below and tighten from the bottom. NEVER from the top. As I'm not a fatty I might experiment with taking a couple of the springs out but I know many complain the front doesn't have enough travel. -Folding mechanism & pivot - Probably the least good part of this scooter. It's not bad but is possibly the weakest part of the design - if you find the front is getting loose on you this is probably the issue. Turn the scooter over and look for a 10mil nut at the pivot between the deck and front end. A long socket to tighten this will probably work wonders - remember to use a little blue thread lock! -Handlebars - I have no complaints, or indeed with the associated controls. Just be sure to loosen and then adjust the positioning to your preferences before you use the scooter. I'm not a fan of the folding handlebars as they are inevitably a weak point but I'm glad they do as it makes a surprising difference getting what is a large scooter in to the back of a small car - if I was someone who lived in a country where the inhabitants habitually buy idiotically large vehicles I'd rather have fixed handlebars. -Deck & rear foot stand - No complaints, nice anti-slip surface and plenty of room unless you have giant feet -Lights and electrics - Again, no complaints so far. I will say there are no indicators and the headlight isn't up to riding at night - you will need to upgrade these if you do! (I don't) Buy one today? Tricky - I'm happy with my D4+ 2.0. I wish the suspension was a little more sophisticated so it coped with rough ground better but I suspect that very minor complaint will be true of all scooters to some extent - get a trial bike if you want to go over rocks! At nearly 40km the range is very good for a scooter, although for where I live I wish it was over 60km. But scooters seem to get better every year so in 2022 there are likely better options for the money. I will say Nanrobot seems a good manufacturer and if you can get a deal on this model it's still a good buy - I won't be replacing mine for the foreseeable future. I hope that's of use to someone.

Quite a thorough review. Even more thorough than the video 😂. It’s what I thought about the suspension. Front looks a little stiff. I’ve owned 3 scooters so far and I’ve learned that the tiny tires are no match for certain road surfaces-especially the solid tires.

I bought one last September. It is fantastic. I have almost 1000 miles on mine and have zero problems. It is fast so I got the seat. Living in Manhattan makes this the perfect city vehicle. Fast and sturdy. No problems with loose handle bars. In 3rd gear, both motors engaged and in turbo mode no problem keep up with car traffic.

I really appreciate your reviews; they are honest and straightforward. I'm looking to move up to a faster scooter than my Ninebot Max, and one that will do a bit of off-roading. Your review of this Nanrobot D4 has really pushed me toward making the final leap! Much appreciated, Soldier.

@MichiganPowersports3 жыл бұрын
We got the scooters and they are much quicker than we expected! If you go into the "P" settings and adjust #12 to 5 (1-5 acceleration levels) it will spin tires on the pavement with a 225lb rider on board. Very fast off the line and we do actually get to 40MPH top speed. Range is really 45 miles on eco mode and 25 miles on dual-motor/turbo. So far I have personally ridden 19 miles on a single trip, it was far more miles than most people will even be able to ride before their feet and legs get tired.

I'm 71 years old 160 pounds and it has been on flat streets and all pavement I do not take it on dirt to old for that the only thing that I wished is they would beef up the stick when I apply the brakes unit stopes fast and puts a lot of pressure on it and throws it forward and I got a lot of fear that it is going to break like I have seen other brands do here where I live Nanrobot keep up the great work and I'm waiting for a water proof one to come out in case it comes up a rain

Iv'e owned of these exact models for around 8 months with over 4000 miles with no problems with the exception of a flat in the back but when I got the tube out it was the valve that must have had a large rock bind between it and the fork during moderate speed and we all know the fork was not giving any mercy so it is to be expected that would be the result, I was glad to find out that nothing had punctured the tire whatsoever as a matter of fact I will be replacing the tires in a couple thousand miles so they are nothing less than worthy of the performance of the scooter. and with that being said everything he covered I agree with 100%, well presented video in my opinion as well, expect nothing less from a military background. Only thing left to say is "at ease soldier".
