The second one was literally MADE for her and the little hairs in the front help it blend so well and look natural. The dark nots aren't too bad and the lace color is literally her match. it looks so good! (edit: I think the blue on the 3rd one was deff them trying to mark where to cut the lace )

You can soak synthetic wigs in fabric softener to help remove some of the shine and make it more realistic looking.

Costume designer here: in the past I have been on crews where we used pre-made synthetic wigs and hidden the knots using a mixture of Schwarzkopf Got2b glued clear gel and foundation powder and painting it carefully onto the knots from the underside of the wig. Leave it to dry and you can get a pretty good effect. There are other methods people use, but I am most familiar with this one.

They don´t seem like bad wigs to me. I bought a chemo wig when I was battling alopecia and wore it for at least 6 months. Synthetic just needs more work before you go out with them. They shed when they are fresh from the box, they need a little extra cutting to look realistic and they need powdering to combat the shine.

Hi Naomi❤, as someone who wears synthetic wigs (nowhere near a inexpert) but if you want to “bleach” synthetic knots, you have to color over them essentially. The most common way is to buff a little bit of liquid foundation on the underside of the lace and set it with a powder foundation. The best way that I have found it to turn the wigs inside out and spray the lace *FROM A DISTANCE* with Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Makeup. Side note if you want to make the wig look a little more natural I suggest thinning it out with thinning shears this will take away the bulky look synthetic wigs tend to have, along with adding a little bit of volume to the roots because you’re removing some of the weight (synthetic hair weighing more than human hair) and by thinning the wig with thinning shears you are adding layers which will help keep the wig from tangling up as much.

hot tip: i use the black mesh wig caps underneath the normal tan ones because i have a LOT of hair and it helps keep things nice and smooth. learned it from my musical theater friends

random tip - NEVER EVER EVER use those pinking shears on ANYTHING other than fabric!! ESPECIALLY not paper 😱 They'll be ruined forever and you'll have to buy a new pair coz they're almost impossible to sharpen. Please, learn from my grievous mistakes hahaha!

Hairdresser here! Try dabbing some of your concealer on the part with a really thin brush. That will help disguise the knots. As for the first one, it’s SO PRETTY and if you pluck some of the hairs around the hairline it will help it blend better and look more natural ❤

you can bleach the knots on the human hair wigs! I’m not sure about the synthetic ones, though you can use foundation to blend on your wig cap to match the hairline on the wigs! I also recommend putting some foundation on the inside of the wig to match your skintone as well. also cutting layers into the wigs can make them look more natural and less likely to get tangled easily. almost forgot… please please pluck the hairline and scalp to look more natural and less synthetic like!

There are a lot of cheap or knock off versions of wig knot concealers, but Perfect Line Swiss Lace Wig Grids & Knots Concealer looks like it actually works really well. It also comes in 5 shades so you can get closer to your natural scalp colour.
