I'm not a skin expert but I'm a trained makeup artist and I do remember my teacher (who was a skincare expert as well as a makeup artist) telling us to never buy into any fad that involves putting something frozen directly onto the skin because it is in fact bad for it. You can damage the blood vessels in your skin and causes long term discolouration. What you can do instead to safely get the skin firming effects of ice is to use an antifreeze gel pack and press it into the areas you want to firm. As you're not putting ice on your skin it doesn't damage it as much because it isn't as harshly cold as something frozen. The firming effects of ice or a gel pack only last for a few minutes though, no matter how you do it, so just use a good skin firming cream instead, the results last longer than using ice and won't damage the skin as much.

I know that cool things can be good for decreasing puffiness and closing pores by making your veins tighten. But frozen things generally are too cold for skin to directly touch for too long without getting a freeze burn of some degree, so from what I (as no more expert than the next internet person) would guess is that it would do more damage than favors to the skin?

Putting tea tree oil on sensitive skin is such a huge no no 😢
@emapelikanova478
@emapelikanova478 Жыл бұрын
If you're not alergic to tea tree oil it actually is used in some skin calming products. (It's good for sunburns for example.) Not sure if it's a good idea to put it into that PVA glue mask thing (PVA irritates skin too) and letting it sit on the skin longer than just drying. Also it's meant to be a spot treatment for pimples not a facemask...
@HighOnCaffine9623
@HighOnCaffine9623 Жыл бұрын
Right, I screamed when she did that, I felt her pain 😩 I have dry skin type and back when I was a teen with bad acne I would use insane “hacks” on my face like rubbing in tea tree oil and it BURNED. Tea tree is ok for spot treatment (for oily skin types maybe) & great for scalp massage (the tingles 🤤) but you need to mix it with a carrier oil to avoid burning yourself (the case with every essential oil).
@ha_des

ive used it as a spot treatment but it never worked for me. you know what worked that my derm told me tho? just medical alcohol, like 70% alcohol you find at the pharmacy, on a q-tip and on the pimple, it dries it up

Entertaining as always, still kinda worried about the glitter on your eyelids though. Especially when it's the kind that gets hard and flaky when dry. Getting pieces of glitter stuck inside your eye can hurt a lot and in the worst case even get you blind. Fingers crossed you will continue to be lucky with your future glitter endeavors and don't hurt your eyes 🤞

Q: What do you put on your eyelids to help eyeshadow stay on? A: Start with an eye shadow primer: "It's good to set your eye shadow by starting with a primer. This helps to not only hold the shadow in place, but also preps the eyelid, getting rid of discoloration, covering up veins, and keeping your eyeshadow on!" Q: How do you keep glitter from falling off your eye shadow? A: Use Setting Spray! Setting spray is your BFF if you have a long night ahead of you, but especially so if you want to hold glitter in place. “First, spritz an eyeshadow brush with it and dab it onto your eye lid don't rub just dab it and it should work!".

I get a lot of inspiration to be myself and trust my style more because it makes me happy and complete, it's a great relief to be able to be myself at least in makeup hahahaha clothes the style I like are not sold here and are expensive, but anyway, thank you! For the shimmer eyeshadow. I’m so sure it would’ve worked if you went in directly on your eyes or another brand of eyeshadows. I recently bought a pastel eyeshadow palette from colourpop and the matte shade did the same thing on me. It was extremely powdery and applied patchy. Worse? It made it so that nothing would apply on top of it. Not matte eyeshadow, not glitter or shimmer. I had to finally remove everything with makeup remover and start over. I honestly don’t know why colourpop is so hyped I’ve tried makeup revolution palettes that are way better in quality than colourpop and literally half the price

I would be so stoked imagining that Rn if I were you! Ps: before trying new products, do you research and read all instructions or search for tips online? Because I feel you are great at doing your own makeup and doing what you are comfortable with, but I’m not sure when you are trying out things, you are doing enough research and reading the directions to get the best application. This would help your review so much more! Because nobody spends money and then uses something without making sure they know the proper and best way to use it!

@ 17:36 I put this in my "FAVORITE VIDEOS TO WATCH WHEN I'M HAVING AN AWFUL DAY" for those days when I am in DESPERATE NEED to cheer myself up and in need of a good ol fashion laugh because the "teasers", "squeezers", "tweezers" part is funny on it's own BUT the face she makes after finally remembering the correct word is just 100% Naomi and I have watched this bit over and over and over again and EVERY SINGLE TIME I laugh sooooo hard that my stomach hurts the next day!!! It's unexpected and yet a classic Naomi expectation with her one-of-a-kind expressive nature that is just down to earth and the best pick-me-up I sooo desperately in need of and it hasn't failed me yet. And today it was VERY MUCH NEEDED because we loss my mother in-law today who has been like a mother to me since my husband and I met in high school and have been together for almost 35yrs now so she will be sooooo missed. I really hope you'll always be on YT Naomi because your videos are many of my absolute favorite videos. ❤❤❤💔

I didn’t see many comments about the use of the ice powpz. Your skin barrier is very sensitive and it is easily irritated, even water is and irritant and can dry out your skin barrier which leads to dryness and potentially even acne if you have oily prone skin as your sebaceous glands will start to overproduce oil as a defence mechanism to try and re-hydrate and repair your skin barrier. Since it is so sensitive, it is not recommended that you apply anything that is either extremely hot or extremely cold (I.e. ice). Your skin barrier is not made to withstand such extreme temperatures, therefor it is recommended that you use Luke warm water as it is less irritating and causes less damage to your skin barrier, hence reducing the possibility of an impacted skin barrier which could lead to acne or dry, red, and flaky skin. Hope this helps x

ngl this was super helpful bc i used to use really cold water when washing my face and never understood why my skin got super dry and then super oily again right after. ive been using lukewarm water just to try and it's been helping much more.

Yeah I’d skip the glitter pots too… so pretty but looks like it is hard not to disturb the eyeshadow. Plus I generally don’t like getting products like that anymore because I feel like they dry out fast and then it’s useless… at THAT price point it’s a NO.

I've been dying to try those chrome flakes! They look ridiculously pretty! I've seen a few creators play with them and I think the best way to apply is to put down a glitter glue first. Then they'll be less likely to just flake off

Heya, I am a curative education nurse (Heilerziehungspfleger) in training and asked my Teacher for Healthcare and Body care (a former Nurse) she meant that it would not be that useful to apply that orange ice cold stuff on your face bc it could irritate your skin

My mom is an esthetician that specializes in facials, and she says that cold things can close the pores (not letting anything get out) and essentially “harden” the oils to your face. If you use hot or warm things you are opening the pores so that the cleaner can clean them.

beauty pops is like putting ice on face [but ice cubes is better] - will help reduce puffiness - great for tired eyes and if moved over the skin in the right way, can help aid in lymphatic drainage and removal of toxins. If you have heat in the skin, it can also help to reduce redness and the look of angry breakouts.

I went to school to be an esthetician and skincare is a passion of mine sooo I figured I would drop some info for anyone wondering. Putting ice or anything frozen directly onto your skin can be damaging. And the only real benefit it can give it to temporarily reduce puffiness. But if you’re going to do anything frozen on your face I would recommend using a barrier (like an ice globe or ice cube or whatever with a tissue over it) to avoid damaging your skin with extreme cold.
