My ex narcissist husband had a very interesting way of dodging questions. I never ever got a question answered and was always kept in the dark. If at all if he answered it was deflected in such a way that the result was utter confusion. At that time I did not suspect that it was intentional. Now I can see through the sinister game plan.
@marilynwhite2155 Жыл бұрын
You have an amazing ability to explain the narcissist in very clear terms. Every point you make is an " OMG " moment for me. You have made me see the light long after I had years of being with a narcissist and made me realise that I was not the crazy one. You have pinpointed every little detail about him. Thank you

Oh my God, that is a chilling thought. I hadn't thought they were so deliberate and brutally precise in their cruelty. Nothing random or emotionally lashing out, as I had thought. That's why I excused them a thousand times.
@MaryDunford Жыл бұрын
Same. After finally recognizing the difference between knee-jerk reactions, and deliberate attempts to harm, appropriate responses make themselves apparent. It gets better. Their weapons are all dependent on others' lack of knowledge/ understanding.
@larosavaladez.712 Жыл бұрын
I would spend just about all day everyday over thinking, thinking of ways I could catch or get proof of any thing but I went crazy knowing I had no way to because I was having trouble explaining to myself why and how I was feeling the way I was. Well I knew why but I had no exact details that seemed to make much sense to myself how can I even find anyone to try telling. I was/am going crazy all by myself. Everyday I don't ever get anything done and I'm so behind on everything possible and I canT find the time or energy to do any thing productive. I really want to do a lot of things but can't get any thing done. He is gone all day but seems to come home when ever I leave and how he knows when I leave the house is my question.. say I come home to the smell of fresh food just cooked amd a dirty plate in the sink and crumbs here and there in the kitchen but he says I'm crazy he never was at the house.. Some times I come home and he's running off back to work. Idk why things r always dug into and or things r down to the house that he says he never did and he knows nothing about but he never responds in a calm voice its always instantly defensive and agressive..

And blamed me for everything that has happened.. when it comes to communication strictly about our kid. He still brings up things and the past and blames me why he did what he did. I'm happy I'm away from him but slowly picking up the pieces... I never knew how severe my situation was until I left him and reflected and look up narcissistic characteristics and discovered that I was in a relationship with one.. I thank God I was set free. The car rides, and very important tasks...omg...they sabotage everything. I remember my NM trying to leave me on the interstate in Texas for her raging at me in the car. She's raged at me ever since I was a child. The car rides were always the worst, and she'd say I was ungrateful and disrespectful. I just got to an age where I was standing up to her abuse, and that infuriated her. The police, and court system was also weaponized against me. I've still yet to see a video about that issue.

Love the “see you soon” “we’ll have to….” “let’s get together” etc etc etc. absolutely REFUSING to commit to a specific date, time, place. Any attempt to arrange specifics is met with word salad confusion talk about their convoluted schedules OR with radio silence. If I don’t respond often get some message around why I didn’t communicate or general excuses about how busy they or sick or whatever lame reason they’ve not shown up. I just refuse to play but it’s still frustrating and messy plus pretty exhausting even attempting to avoid their games and mess.

This was constant from my mother and father as well as other family members. As I got to the point of being able to predict it with certainty, I also could see the intentionality of them doing things to positively reward me for coming in closer to them. What really gets me was the amount of effort expended in this on their end, towards me to hurt me, but zero effort taken to do a damn thing positive, for themselves or anyone else. You articulated the methodology of abandonment in its many forms, used like a tool for sake manipulation, usually for mere vanity. I see it more in my interactions with people all the time now. My guard goes up on the rare occasion someone wants to “help” or do something “nice”. It makes me so sad to have to think, what are they really up to? Is this what it appears to be? Are they knowingly doing this with a unwritten contract that they will expect me to uphold when they spring it on me at their convenience or are they blind to their own actions?

And if I was lucky I'd get "I dunno" All the other times A blank stare or stonewalling and zero response for weeks,mor even months, if need be Until I just start being nice to him again, to end the Ice cold silence That's mostly been my "kept hanging" Status More often than I'd like to remember But with all the knowledge I've gained these past few months I need no more explanations, while I plan my exit I know what I'm dealing with now My great escape is in progress... if he doesn't discard me before that happens?
