Yes, my ex did an immediate hoover when I left but I shut him down so he moved on to a new supply and his ex-wife. He then tried to triangulate me with both ladies approximately two months later. When that didn't work he then used the new supply to stalk and harass me. They are so pathetic when you think about it all.

They don't always come back. Really depends. Mine tried laying down the foundations to, but nothing, I doubt she ever would, it would be a stupid move, when I cut people off I don't come back. I'm not contactable anyway. No fb or any of that, emails changed etc. Sam Vaknin has some good stuff on hoovers.

@@NarcCon I started with Sam Vaknin and watched all the videos, even bought some books he adviced NPB en BPD coupple for example) - i knew nothing about NPD. But i am very happy I have found the channel fo Paula ( hope I write the name right) because she gives a lot of examples, which Sam does not do, not that much. Paula gives excellet everyday examples and explanations on how this looks in real life. So for deep psychological background/explanation I go for Sam, for how it looks like in real life I come here. Paula also gives us a lot of encouragement, she gives psychological support, which is also a great plus of this channel. - i find. And I also watch Dr. Ramani. These 3 channels helped me understand or have a sort of understanding on what this is.

Watch out for holidays - the narc will use them to their advantage. Last Thanksgiving I received a holiday text from an unknown number ( but it was in the narc's state) saying that he or she "thanked God for me". I was suspicious and didn't delve into it or try to find out who sent it. Last year at Christmas I received a phone message and text from a fancy restaurant we both had gone to, saying to confirm my reservation for that night! I live 2000 miles away from it now! These narcs can get very creative.

This is all very accurate I’ll add a couple of ways I’ve been hoovered or friends have been hoovered this way, a text that doesn’t make sense like it’s for someone else and because you are confused at what they meant you message them saying - did you accidentally send me a text meant for someone else? But it was all intentional to re engage you. Another way is trying to appeal to your sentimental side by recalling sweet romantic times , wishing you well and congratulating you on something you’ve achieved lots of complements which are designed to make you feel like they care about you value you. Attacking emails or texts or voice calls though it may see counter productive it does often make the target want to defend themselves against the false accusations therefore the narcissist has got you to engage and feels significant because they’ve been able to anger or upset you. Coming to you with a crisis situation which could be genuine and they’re desperate so they reached out to you because they lack a better option or could be totally fabricated or overly exaggerated in how much of crisis situation their in this is a pity ploy to exploit your empathy and reel you back into their lives. Using pets and belonging you’ve left or belongings they left at your house( they often leave things deliberately so they have an excuse to contact you

My ex left many things behind in my house after discard. Also found 3 botteles of alcahol: 2 of them where half drunk. He was addicted to alcahol and sex. Finally no contact for 8 months after 12 years of abuse.

Hoovering has happened so many times in my situation. It really depends on whether you respond. When you do real true blue no contact…. Like off the narc grid… blocked through the carrier, they hopefully will stop. You cannot care anymore. If they call a million times and you don’t care then it it really doesn’t matter. Every story is unique but the narc is same as it ever was. This is been the worst and in turn the best thing that ever happened to me. It is forcing me to look at everything!

The best predictor of a hoover is past patterns. However if you or someone caused a narcissistic injury they wouldn't come back often times. My online covert narc (i am embarrassed of this yes) was caught by his GF texting and calling me and so she called me in front of him and told me they were together. I blocked and deleted his number. I did get weird friend requests from fake accounts with thousands of followers like every two days after that but nothing direct like a text or phone call through a fake number. But then again, his past behavior is a good indicator that he may try sometime in the distant future. My worry is this dude comes to my state often (thankfully he never attempted to meet me) but him attempting to make contact with my family and even coming to my area is a scary thought.

if you discard them or them you its the same pain same truth and when you know and you discard its easy to resist the hoover bc you know why its happening but even then its hard bc some part of you still wants to believe they love you when they know you know and you know they know you know there is no trust you become two enemies and it becomes an strategic distansing. they wil try again after 6 months 1 year.

I unblocked him too when I noticed it (and I'm sure he noticed it too). But that is all that has happened for months now. I'm probably expected to reach out, but I don't want to because of the discard etc. So will a "follow up" happen and if so when does something like this usually happen? Is it normal to have month of silence between subtle hoover and direct hoover (if the last will ever happen) OR am I more likely to be blocked again if I don't do anything further (other than also unblocking him again)?

I have blocked the narcissist and people I believe to be enablers. Granted we had a lot of mutual acquaintances and friends and affiliates with work so- I don't think its appropriate to block EVERY-ONE. That said I've had four people reach out since the discard (about 5 months ago) who wanted more than just a simple "hello". Two of them I hardly knew, and the other two were much closer to me. These may have been "heat checks". Person 1) had a great instinct for something being "off" about the atmosphere the Narcissist created. They very much were trying to gauge their position in that mess. From what I know and have seen, they left the proximity of that person. I didn't really share a ton with this individual because they specified at one point that they didn't want any of the drama. You got to take everything with a grain of salt however when it comes to people. Person 2) had witnessed a lot of toxic behavior and was being manipulated and harassed to do things they didn't want to do. We had a mutual exchange in person and I gave my reasons for why I thought that poor behavior existed. They told me they wanted to leave but didn't know how. They behaved as if they were very concerned for themselves as they felt things were getting worse. Person 3) missed me, and I had missed them. They wanted to know what happened to me. They explained the toxic behavior they were experiencing. I also gave my two cents about why I thought that was. It was extraordinary to see this person talk at length about their own experience to only gaslight themselves at the end. This definitely could have been a "heat check" but I didn't care. Person 4) Probably my closest ally but gaslit within an inch of their life for the Narcissist. They acted as if nothing had happened after a few months and wanted to know why I had distanced myself from them. I said I'd be more than happy to talk in person and they replied that they'd love that. Let's just say I never got the call. The truth is, they KNOW why I've distanced myself from them... they are playing dumb, are willfully blind, or can't afford to care about what happened to me. Their time will come. They've already been devalued, discarded, and shelved before. So how much of all that gets back to the Narcissist? I don't know... and honestly I don't care. I envy no one close to them. They are a spiraling mess and don't need my self for their self sabotage. They already have a bad reputation around town.

The narc rang my doorbell 2 days ago and bought a bowl that I left at his house months ago. I said thank you, then silence. He then said "How are you", I said "Fine and you", very dryly. In my case i left. There was many attemps of hoover. Then triangulation that i didnt gave response. The flying monkey was then cutted. Now 6 months latter i received a private call at 1.40 am to my work annoucements that i rejected. He doesnt have any other number cause i changed. Im absolutly sure it was him. My question is this can be considered as a trying hoover? I thought he had quit. Or this was just to wake me? In this case i unmasked him i was source a. There were also lattely 2 calls of private number a man talking of work and a woman also. Both switch off in my face during the talk without any reason. I cant be sure if it comes from him but i suspicious because this type of calls never happen in the past and the 3 happen in this time with some space. I really dont know what to think for sure. Although im prepared for the hoovering tryings is not a easy think to face. It would be easier if he just left me in peace cause im healing well

I got one after 3 months NC TELLING me the log book and 2nd key to his beloved car were at my house and to drop them off at his brother's and I can have my log book back. @@vesnalukic9877 I know this is a late reply but just to let you know I've now had 8 of these calls since he discarded, they definately seem spoofed, its driving me bloody insane tbh, in the 4 years that I was with him i never ever had sales/spam calls not even from the normal wierd numbers that sales calls usually use let alone from mobile numbers, these calls started roughly a week after discard and now there have been 8 spread out over the course of around 3 weeks. I try calling them back and every time it says "this number is not available" so part of me thinks they are sales calls but they are from genuine mobile numbers and this has never ever happened before. I dont know how easy it is to spoof numbers do you? I've been googling like a crazy woman trying to figure out if its him how he would even be able to spoof...if it's just coincidence and they are spam calls then it really is way too coincidental to of started right after he left, if it's not him it feels like a bloody pisstake if you get what I mean, when your trying to get over someone and not just anyone but someone who ripped our hearts to shreds getting calls like these straight after really rubs salt in our wounds doesnt it, it's like really?! Why now!!. Have you had any more of these calls? X

Early on she would just put herself in a place and I'd suggest getting back together. The second last she knocked on my door and said she was checking to see if I'm ok. That day was my ex wife's wedding day. The day she (ex wife)married her long term lover. I thought at the time she was genuinely interested in me. The last time I discovered a lie of her having two different excuses for seeing a family friend. She forgot her last excuse and I didn't let on. When I called her on it I was the one that cheated. I was this or that. All she needed was a hug. Smoke and mirrors. No contact from me. She has done heat checks on me with no response from me .

My Narc hub never tried to win me back with love bombing...but only with harsh manipulation and condemnation. After being away for almost 12 years I still get an occasional pkg with pictures or some dumb thing I left behind. Now that I know it's a hover I will return to sender. He actually sends them to my sis since I never left him my forwarding address...so she will return to sender.

my narcy hoovring me after she discarded me with whatsapp msg before two weeks but i told her that i know what she was doing , she snet me an email after two weeks that she want to meet me last time to breakup , she waited for me but i did not went there , she called me from another number and email me again with unwanted information , she is with her new suply but still hoovring , i did made mistake before discard , i brokeup with her but she came back and gaslighted me and i was losing my selfconfidence and got weaken too ,and i took her back and next day she discarded me , i got my confidence back , and healing really fast because she did made mistake that she pull back too fast and i was not too invested in her , two more weeks and if she came back than i will teach her lesson her life , but she know me very well that i dont give a fuck thats why she ran 5 years behind me to hook me and at the end i starts to fall for her and she showed me her real face

Be aware of silence between fail hoovers that is part of the game to mess you emocionally. You feel in eminent danger you abble to resist hoover and suddenly they stop trying. You feel like abandonated even not wanting them back it triggers you feelings coming from childwood. Dont fall for that its all on purpose. I've just had to rewatch this because this is the second time now that I've had a message in my spam folder facebook messenger but it comes up facebook user so whoever it is must be sending the messages and then deactivating the account so that I cant see who sent them. The first one just said hi and that was about 3 weeks ago and then i had another one sunday saying hello and it said missed call...so whoever it was tried ringing me. I have no clue for sure if this is him, however the only msgs I ever get in my spam folder are from random people in foreign countries lol (I have no clue why) but I've never had these kinds of msgs before it seems a little too coincidental for my liking, part of me thinks it's got to be him and part of me thinks if it's someone else then it's a real head f*ck excuse my language. If its him it would make sense that hes sending them and then deactivating the account straight away because he had me being questioned in a bloody police station when he discarded me so he cant just come out and say its him. I dont know all I know is its messed with my head. He is blocked on everything so I'm assuming it's a fake account, if its him that is, it really is screwing with my head x

@@NarcCon I'm not going to, I cant respond anyway as each one is either blocked or deactivated each time they are sent, i very rarely check my spam folder and it just so happens that the few times that i have in the past month there have been messages in their. I think you are right, i think its him and me questioning if it is or not is exactly what he wants. If it really is him then he definately has fullblown npd, literally everything hes done and how he was in the relationship are exactly how you all explain it on here and the hoover was just the last piece to the puzzle. It really is sick isnt it, I dont know for sure obviously but if it is it's making my tummy turn, I couldnt ever see him in the same light again now I'm so disgusted. rip our hearts out in the most brutal way fake a whole relationship and then play games, it's so vile 😭 xx

They don't hoover after a discard, especially not when they're covert. My narc partner discarded me 1.5 years ago, and completely ghosted and blocked me, no closure. About 5 month after I went silent too he unblocked me on one are of social media. I unblocked him back but nothing happened since then. That was 6 months ago, since then nothing has happened. He will NEVER reach out and hoover. So to me it's just not true, cause I am experiencing the opoosite

My ex has never hoovered via soc media...in fact he still has me blocked...or by phone. He usually...now I think ..hooverd physically. It was when school was in session before Covid hit back in March when we dropped our kids off at same time every morn. Since school has been out I havnt had any hoovers. Of course he moved in with NS back in March. I do know he devalued her not long after he moved in & then all of a sudden love bombed her again. I just quit looking at her FB. Its all lies.
