10 narcissistic abuse tactics that are huge red flags 🟥 1-verbal abuse. an entitlement to say whatever they want. 2-passive aggressive emotional abuse. withholding positive comments, and giving silent treatment when called out. 3-gaslighting. making you doubt the reality of what happened in a situation. 4-neglect. ignoring the needs of a partner, spouse, or child that the narcissist is responsible for. 5-triangulation. bringing in a 3rd person to create conflict. 6-sabotage. intentional interference to undermine your personal affairs, or relationships with other people. 7-exploitation. taking advantage of you without regard for your best interests. 8-smear campaign. an attempt to control the opinions of how others view you. 9-discard. getting rid of you with no explanation, empathy, or regard for you. 10-violence or physical abuse. destroying property or physically harming you. cheers from southern ontario, canada 🍁

Everything is a source of contention for the narcissist. To avoid ANY conflict it is helpful to say nothing. Ever. No questions. Never disagree with anything and still...they will find something to diss, ruin, crazy-make or argue about. If it feels like insanity, it's possibly narcissism. 🙄

My ex got me fired from every job I had by calling my boss saying I needed to get home because the neighbor called that the police were at our place and I should have never left the children alone, they were at daycare. When we became homeless he screamed at me that it was all my fault because I couldn't hold down a job then when we were homeless he lied that he was working on us getting a place so if I try to get us into a place it will conflict, he wasn't looking for a place, when he got put out of his shelter he blamed me for us not getting into a place. YOU CAN NOT WIN WITH A NARCISST so just cut them out of your life.

While kids are learning proper use of pronouns and text talk they really need psyche terms like empathy, codependent, narcissist, etc. I'm teaching my 5 year old niece if he pulls your hair that's a sociopath. If he steals your lunch money that's a psychopath. If a kid calls you name he's gaslighting, etc, etc. It's sad but that's the world we live in.

Is narcissism on the rise? Does it have anything to do with the broken up family? I know my narcissistic husband's parents stayed together. When he was growing up his father really didn't pay much attention to him and his mother was overbearing, so I know this may be one of the reasons for his narcissism, but how about the children who grow up without one parent?

You mentioned blocking as violence. Does this mean that if the other person is pointing their finger or wagging their finger in your face and you remove their hand from your face, you are being violent, knowing that the other person can be the violent one of that you feel very threatened by the look on their face that violence is about to happen and that all you are doing is defending yourself? Also shouting back in defence?
