Not only could it be, it definitely is. My point though, is that even though these groups have influenced a lot of artists, it's bad television to re-use so many of them. Part of the fun of Nardwuar is the surprise of which obscure reference he's going to pull out of an artists past and let them explain the connection to the audience. When he uses the same references over and over again though, I think the novelty wears off.

I like the HUGE difference between the way the hip hop community and the indie rock / punk community react to Nardwuar. The hip hop people are generally thrilled and really respect the work that Nard puts into his interviews. The indie punkers, however, generally see him as a threat - for the same reason. Mostly because they are full of shit and Nardwuar exposes that element. Hip Hop guys generally admit to their shit and move on. The indie guys whole careers stem on their mythologies.

I get what youre saying, but if those actually are the significant influences it would also be a bit weird and inaccurate of him to leave those "gems" out just because he has showed em before to other artists... In either case I indeed know what youre saying about him re-using references, but I dont think its THAT bad as he always finds unique stuff as well!

lol @ "Yma Sumac - Bo mambo" being the 'FEATURED VIDEO" at the top of the videos on the right. That's a little creepy I think because that name is not in the Title, Description, or Tags for this video!! Meaning that KZbin is confident enough to actually listen to the video and hear keywords (likely repeated more than once?) and include them (words it thought it heard mentioned in the video) as part of their formula that determines video relationships...
