What you have to understand is that Rotten has never stood FOR anything. He's always been great at railing against or tearing down the establishment; and let's admit it, he IS good at that. If you need someone to be condescending and disgusted, he's your guy. But that's it. No substance. Nothing real. Rather like a professional book/music/movie/theatre critic. He says something clever and insightful; but in the end it's mostly about showing how clever he is and how stupid his target is.
