Rockstar is one of my all time favs but i always felt a bit disappointed about the casting choice of female lead n then i rememer seeing imtiaz's interview of many years ago n he said he had a vision for the female character he wanted someone who looked had interestingly unusual features, someone who was beautiful yet pale n sad n nargis sorta fits that well . Rockstar was a beautiful film. Imtiaz had a vision for this role and I think Nargis fit the role perfectly. There are girls in universities who’d be able to identify with Heer, the way she talked, walked, dressed and came from a certain privilege. Her scenes where she is shown unwell and where she hugs Ranbir and cries her heart out in front of her family. Heer is an emotion. Imtiaz was able to bring that role to life but sadly many people criticized him as they are so used to seeing certain actresses with the same typical acting. Heers character demanded something different. Heer and Jordan created magic together. Imtiaz did a tremendous job with the film. Just amazing
