Typically it's because of the maximum loading gauge. The Ffestiniog introduced steam engines 30 years after the line was built (having used horses before), and they were limited by a tunnel that was only 8' wide and 9' 6" tall. Said tunnel is no longer used, allowing them to use slightly larger rolling stock.

Back around June/July I built a model using parts all bought from Bricklink. It's not railway related, however it will be making an appearance or two in future videos...

Try adding the Metroliner's coaches to the Emerald Night coach, Pullman coach, and three green coaches, and caboose to make up for a total of seven coaches and a caboose. And maybe add the Emerald Night coach, Pullman coach, and three green coaches to The Metroliner's coaches to make up for a total seven coaches and the Metroliner diesels, TurboJUK.

There are some cool locos in here, plus lovely scenery. Just a suggestion, maybe you could make a LEGO model of Lyd or the red saddle tank that pulled the train in the first part of the video.

You are lucky! The first train you went on, and its a karr stuart (peter sam) I'd love to go down to wales and see all their narrow guage engines

I've always wondered why the UK's narrow gauge locomotives are so dang small. Our narrow gauge locomotives (the ones in the U.S.A.) are the same size as the standard gauge.

6:27: SPEED!!! Now that LEGO Factory/DesignbyME is over (well, you can't buy stuff), would you consider making and buying stuff on LDD and Bricklink respectively?
