Jackie and me (Brian) are experienced boaters on a fat Narrowboat but watching you on your first year brought back the magic of our lifestyle choice especially discovering all the differences when compared with being land based. Not living full time as yet.....but hopping too very soon. I've been on boats, both sea, river and canals since being in short trousers. Been on the Kennet & Avon canal since it reopened in '91. Love your videos and your hugely different personalities.

The River Kennet is only difficult in winter especially in wet spells - ame as the River Avon between Bath to Bristol. I would highly recommend it. Bet bits are between Bradford on Avon to Bath through the Limpley Stoke Valley, the Caen Hil Flight (29 locks). Do look in at the Barge Inn at Honey Street. It's the home port for those who believe in crop circles and aliens etc. A surreal experience! Bristol has fantastic nightlife and a great. Live band scene. Bath is just breathtaking ....!

It was great looking back at your adventure and it shows how time flies! I've always been interested in narrowboats and never had the confidence to do it but watching you and CC inspired me to have a go. In October I rented a boat with my husband (he wasn't inspired just nagged) and we cruised along the Rochdale canal. It was amazing and even though I fell over board in the dark and I mean pitch black, I loved it. We've already booked another bigger boat in April 2017 and this time we'll be cruising along the Leeds and Liverpool canal. So a big thank you and happy new year to you both.

You did inspire me. Don't take this the wrong way but sometimes an expert doesn't give you the confidence you need to to try something new, they can have the opposite effect and make you feel more inadequate. You both showed me that you just need to get on with it and that's what I did. I won't go into details about how I got out after I fell in but it involved a torch, nettles and dog s""" on the tow path. As for my husband, he enjoyed the holiday and he's looking forward to going again next year but me, I want to sell our flat in east London, buy a boat, leave my job and go continuous cruising. I don't want to exaggerate but your videos may have changed my life. Let's hope it doesn't mean that I have to change my husband!! That's a joke by the way. Looking forward to following you in 2017.

Ok, after watching a few of these vlog videos it has dawned on me Anna has a little habit of interrupting Kath. It's not interrupting as much as it is talking over Kath and I do want to hear what Kath has to say. It isn't a really bad thing. It just makes it hard to hear Kath sometimes. This video was uploaded on Dec 30, 2016 and here it is April 10, 2019 and I am so very excited that you two are still together and happily uploading vlogs about your life on the Narrowboat together.
