The White Zetsu thing is not a plot hole or a retcon. Fornever is on the right path but essentially what happened is this: (1) White Zetsu Army of 100,000 created by Madara are clones of the "original white zetsu". They were made of Hashirama's DNA, wood from Yamato, and the chakra of the captured tailed beast. (BTW the "original white zetsu" was killed by Sasuke when he first unlocked his EMS to test his new powers, hence why the zestu's that chased Sasuke outside said "You killed our original?!") (2) The Original White Zetsu was likely one of the few surviving Zetsu from the original Zetsu Army from Kaguya's time. We don't know how long ago Kaguya and the Sage's reign was so likely at least 500 or more years ago as to allow them to fall into legend and obscurity. (3) What happened to Kaguya and her Army and how they fell from power hasn't been directly explained yet but likely will be in the coming chapters. Just understand that Madara's Zetsu Army is the SECOND zetsu army. The first one was Kaguya's and happened a long long time ago.

My theory along with others who share it thus far. Kaguya Ootsutsuki's sons were Hagoromo and Hamura Hagoromo's descendants were Indra and Ashura. Indra was ancestor of Uchiha and Ashura was the ancestor of the Senju. Among Hamura's decendants were the Kaguya clan and Hyuga clan; but this is just my speculation. Kaguya has the Byakugan and The Kaguya clan is similar in her apperance in almost every way, I believe that her horns may in fact be bones like the Clan's kekkia genkai.

Naruto to me is the greatest series ever, followed me from childhood to adulthood. This is the first time I'm actually worried and confused (Even though it's just one chapter.) Madara as a villain has been relevant since the start of shippuden and end of naruto first part, you could sense he would be getting evolved more. But Kaguya came out of the blue really, hagumoro at least has been referenced too earlier in the story and has been relevant with the bijuus etc. I will give Kishimoto the benefit of the doubt, he's written an amazing story and it would be extremely disappointing if the main villain with a really good character development would just disappear. It doesn't feel as epic if it would be kaguya as the main villain, very little plot, very little knowledge about her. But, I believe in Kishi for now, I hope he doesn't fuck up my favorite manga/anime

It's not the matter if he is alive or not, it's how he was taken out and the number of plot holes this chapter made. Instead of being naruto fanboys for once try and rethink of everything that was said in the past about anything related to Zetsu, then reread this chapter. You will understand why. Not only that a person who we barely knew about and only saw in a flashback was brought back to life for no apparent reason and at the cost of loosing a villain who was pretty much built up to being this ultimate being.

I think Orochimaru, 3rd Hokage, or 4th Hokage will be useful in stopping Kaguya since they can use the death reaper seal. Orochimaru used the reaper seal only about 60 chapter ago. If the 4th had a part in this, it would be perfect to compare Minato ruining Naruto's childhood by using the reaper death seal to place the fox inside him and than saving his life using it again against Kaguya.

That's what I thought as well which is what leads me to believe that the power of the Infinite Tsukuyomi isn't perfect/permanent. Kishi kind of showed us last chapter that the bright light of the moon fades away allowing those who aren't under the Genjutsu, the ability to not be susceptible to fall under it. Which is why Sasuke isn't using Susanoo to protect the rest of Team 7 from the moon's light right now. So that could be 1 reason why Kaguya wants to build an army, since she may be aware of the Jutsu's flaw.

If this was really the end for Madara, the way he was gone kinda makes him like a "legend", since he did never got defeated by Naruto and Sasuke. He managed to win against the shinobi alliance, bijuus, the four previous hokages, the Naruto vs Sasuke team up (before they near death ) and the guy always won and he goes down without loosing one single time during this war (he even fought blind xD). He died cuz his body was posessed and couldn't absorb all the chakra that it was being sent to his body. For me this kinda builds even more Madara character, the guy who never got defeated xD

What if Madara is doing the same thing Itachi did when he fought Sasuke? Remember Itachi had everything calculated and pushed Sasuke to his limit to make Orochimaru come out so Itachi could seal him and take him out of Sasuke for sasukes own good. I think Madara knew that Kaguya existed and knew of her evil plan to turn everyone into puppets, Madara knew she didn't care for anybody. So I'm guessing that Madara is letting Kaguya take over him so he can get rid of her once and for all, she's basically the reason there's hatred, war fighting and death. There's no way Madara can go down that easily, there's just no way. And why was Itachi mentioned in this chapter? Kishimoto always leaves clues behind and this is one of them. Remember in the last chapter when Madara comes down from the sky, there's a panel that focuses on Madara touching the ground with his finger, why would a panel be focused only in that? Is like Madara knew this all along. He's got a plan and he's NOT DONE YET.

Izuna Uchiha thanks man I'm glad you liked my theory, I tend to try and see through the clues left behind. it could be true cause remember when Hashirama and Madara formed the Hidden Leaf Village Madara had a change of hear later on after reading the Uchiha Tablet with Hashirama. He decided to leave the village and "chase his true dream" something Hashirama could not see with his eyes. I think Madara found out something on that day, something that changed the course of his life. He decided to leave, come back fight Hashirama to obtain his DNA awakened the Rinnegan Summoned the Gedo Mazou from the moon, connect himself with the statue and be exiled from the world, always planning and trying to figure out his plan, Recruited Obito and forced him to carry out the *plan* he was always sleeping but was he just sleeping? I don't think so. After he came back and Obtained so much power he did not became truly evil, if he was truly evil he would've killed Naruto and Sasuke long ago. He gave them time to get stronger. He understands that he needs their help to take down Kaguya. Madara will come back I just know it. *he's not done yet* He was a good person when he was a kid and I'm sure he still is. Just like Itachi, everyone thought he was a villain but he truly was a Hero.

Don't you remember how Madara and Obito looked after they became it's Jinchuriki? Don't Kaguya and Hagoromo look very similar? Kaguya ate the fruit of chakra from the Shinju, and Hagoromo was the Ten-Tails' Jinchuriki. Their appearance isn't really that surprising. However, based on the murals we saw when Kaguya was first mentioned. Kaguya actually had horns before even consuming the fruit. So that part is interesting.

Btw, ForneverWorld, I thought your idea of having Kaguya's resurrection as a different arc would have been great, though it'd have to have certain features to make sure it would live up to the seriousness of the situation since this whole 4th Shinobi World War and Madara's resurrection and ascendancy will have burned out alot of people. It'd have to be like the story running full sprint and just as it crosses the finish line, a surprise straight away pops up and you will only be able to finish with an insane adrenaline boost. I don't think Zetsu is a plot hole. If Madara created Zetsu using the chakra of the Gedou Mazou and Hashirama's cells then these Zetsus created from the tree make perfect sense. The Shinju, this divine tree thing, is basically the Gedou Mazou with the chakra of the tailed beasts and Hashirama's cells are Senju DNA which Kaguya most likely originally had.

Great, now Kaguya is in the fight, how are Naruto & Sasuke supposed to take her out. Worse, she has the Byakugan, we don't know nearly as much about the Hyuuga as we do about the Senju, Uzumaki & Uchiha, we already know the SO6P has a brother, so the Hyuuga clan definitely descended from the brother, making The Uchiha, Senju, Uzumaki & Hyuuga, distant relatives. What is hear goal anyway? Why would she need soldiers? The entire world is caught in Infinite Tsukuyomi, how can you conquer a world that has no people in it? Kaguya is going to be whipping out tons of Hyuuga moves we've never seen, and maybe it will be further explained why the Hyuuga have curse marks on their foreheads. Think about it, the reason being not wanting their eyes taken is a terrible excuse because Uchiha eyes have been getting transplanted left & right, and if other people really wanted to know the Uchiha's secrets, they would've found out a lot sooner. And what did I say about the White Zetsu? Maybe they have something to do with Kaguya as well. What happened, we find out the true origins of the White Zetsu, they're not attempted clones of Hashirama, they're made from people who are caught in Infinite Tsukuyomi. They must be far stronger than they were when they got a boost from Yamato's Senju DNA. I guess Madara didn't know that either. I doubt Madara is dead, that jutsu Hashirama gave Sasuke will soon come into play.

Think about it, we were told about the Zetsus in the past, the Black Zetsu was Madara's influence & the White Zetsus are failed Hashirama clones. Turns out, that was false, Black Zetsu was really Kaguya's influence & the White Zetsus are soldiers made from people who were caught in Infinite Tsukuyomi. We were told in the past that The Uchiha was said to be descended from The Hyuuga, but that's false too, The Uchiha & Hyuuga descended from one person, Kaguya. Anything we were told about the Naruto Universe in past, will mostly likely be false & end up changing at this point.

I went back and re-read the chapter, and I think that I've got a pretty good prediction: Black Zetsu kept talking about how Kaguya was creating soldiers and building an army. Why would she need an army when she has control of the entire planet? She herself said that Earth was her precious nursery. This sounds like she's building an army to fight a war that's going on on her home planet or she's planning to take over. Maybe Zetsu is some sort of soldier or being also from her home and Madara had just learned how to create them.

yeah but we knew madara even back in the 'kiddy arc' when naruto and sasuke battled in the valley of end he was mentioned, then was the time when naruto and sasuke met in orochimaru's base and the kyubi said that sasuke had madara's eyes - and it was kind of 'beliveable' that madara was controlling obito and kishimoto really tried to explain how madara survived that long - but kaguya ?! we didnt even know of her until a few chapters ago

well this might be a possibility and it might be possible that Sasuke,Naruto,Kakashi and sakura have already fallen under the control of madara's genjutsu(not the IT) ... coz it seemed weird coz hw the fck can zetsu be kaguya's will and also zetsu beating madara like that.... its like wtf ?!

You actually must open your mind or think out of the box, that is many situation manga can be write. Like BZ as Kaguya's will as example it can go far back the chapters when we know Madara before his death connect his self with gedo mazo and there where the Kaguya,s Will be inject in Madara body assimilated with Madara's Will. Long before that Kaguya have confront Shinju and something happen between them. You must understand Shinju-Juubi-Gedo Mazo is one entity but look separated in past chapter but basically they are same entity (vessel, attack form and tree form). And past few chapter someone spoke to Madara to absorb the Shinju where I guess that is Kaguya consciousness of her body assimilated with shinju but can't transform to human shape because something block it,that just a guessing but yeah something actually happen to her. In current chapter we see Madara have been attack by BZ and injact Kaguya's will in it. yes for wise minded, its impossible to only BZ alone can incapacitated Madara but actually the process involve inside of Madara's body also, from Shinju that have something to do from Kaguya's abilities. IN and OUT cooperation can do something worse to Madara body and that actually what they done (BZ inject her will while Shinju block, control and absorb Madara and chakra). And I think this all have been planning by Kishi in his manga. All secret and story will be explained next. Maybe no hint you see in the past because it will explain in next chapters. since madara got blown up, this was is now over because all of madaras plans are now burnt 2 ashes even though madara put everyone 2 bed using a cocoon made out of tissue paper, he has not completed his plan so the war is basically over because madara died but now kaguya is alive, this will become a fight instead and if so6p doesnt speak 2 naruto and sasuke, then they're probably history. and probably kaguya turned in2 the black zetsu because she died and got put into a dream like everyone else...........

Since early on in the series Madara was always suspected to be the final end boss so It feels like a MASSIVE waste of everything if he get tossed out the window to be replaced by this lady we only found out about not too many chapters ago regardless if she's basically the origin of everything anyways. :|

I definitely agree. I though I was the only one that found this getting rid of Madara to have Kaguya as final villain a big let-down, but it seems I'm not alone in disappointment. I understand that Kaguya in the Narutoverse is the entity from which everything started, so it makes sense that everything ends just where it began; however, narratively speaking, everything was set to have Team 7 vs Madara as final battle. For hundreds of chapters Tobi was built up as the main enemy, then we leant that really it was the real Madara all along pulling the string, but that was fine in relationship with what we had read until then. Then, all of a sudden, after about 500 chapters leading to the reformed duo of Sasuke & Naruto against badara, this Kaguya, who had been named like once only few chapters ago, comes out of nowhere and suprise! she was the real enemy all along. I start growing rather sick of all this "man behind the man" turn of events: it was fine when it was revealed the big bad wasn't Pain but Tobi and then when it really wasn't Tobi either but Madara, but now with Kaguya I can't really feel involved in a fight against some enemy we hadn't even seen or heard of before!

Take a consideration that Kaguya part of story is to complex to be told as foreshadowing/any other mean to our knowing/understand or even for Naruto characters to understand it. OK here I brought you in as Naruto characters perspective not readers perspective. This women is living far longer in the past the history of Naruto world even before Uchia Madara was born, that mean the information of her is to limited then the information of Senju/Uchiha. Some of those characters that know about her is just from information they read from Hagoromo Tablet. That all. There are no history book/story book/scroll/article, no there are nothing to tell about her. Then there are just only Rinnegan wielder that can read and decipher the tablet. We known thus far only Madara, Nagato, Obito to the extent of Hashirama able read the tablet. But a consideration still in play, although those number of people that have Rinnegan read it minus Hashirama, they still unable to decipher the true meaning of it. That mean maybe because just true owner of Rinnegan able to decipher the whole story, where Nagato and Obito is not true owner of it. Because Madara having Ashura+Indra chakra then turn to became Hagoromo chakra and awakening Rinnegan, thus automatically Madara have access to Hagoromo ability non Juubi jin. Where is Nagato and Obito not having those chakra & ability just happen to able to implanting Rinnegan because of having large chakra/chakra control (Nagato) and Obito because of plot to not losing his Kamui ability. That mean they are still can't fully decipher it like Madara although having Rinnegan. Its not a plot of why Nagato and Obito not state/inform Naruto & co. and everyone about Kaguya and her story other than Hagoromo, IT, tailed beasts and Juubi. That mean info about Kaguya is lie further in the tablet and in more complex structure of word and picture where non true owner of Rinnegan can't reach/read it. For Madara. this man is legendary although his era have long passing but his legacy/history as one from Uchiha clan is brought to present time same as Senju. Scroll/books everything. Unlike Hagoromo-Kaguya era, Uchiha era history is not to vague/blurr as Kaguya era. Uchiha clan/descendant is still present right now trough apperantly Madara to Obito and Sasuke. That mean we should not have problem to see or look for it unlike Kaguya. Look Madara Gunbai is still present at one point of chapter. Thus as a characters point of view, they able to know history about Madara and a thing that happen with him through many source but they can't get to know who Kaguya is, what have her done, what happen to her etc because there a not many source just the one and only tablet. That poor little tablet. because that some shinobi told that Hagoromo is just a fairy tale. They don't have Rinnegan and even not all person that happen to wield Rinnegan can decipher the tablet completely, just Madara.
