NASB Topaz vs HIStory

I do not own a Topaz. But I do own a HIStory! And i absolutely love it! Its great in the hand. It smells amazing. The entirety of this Work by Humble Lamb is a perfect example of art. I’ve been using it for about 3 months now and though it isnt my primary translation I often find myself drawn to it, then I’m seated with it, and BANG its done its job! Where i was wasting my time, HIStory pulled me in and I love it every time. I like how the excluded verses are added in this version. On a con side. I wish the text was slightly bigger. This is my go-to NASB and i won’t be buying another. I was so impressed with HIStory that i immediately, purchased the NKJV Sheppard and pre-ordered the KJV Lion Refresh! HL has also announced a future NLT to be released called SONrise. Just an overall great company! I can humbly admit they have a lifetime customer with me.

Randy, I have both the Humble Lamb HIStory in Lunar Yellow meritian goatskin and the new Cambridge Topaz NASB2020 in brown calf split leather. They are both beautiful Bibles, but I haven't had the chance to read enough in each to render a verdict just yet. I am somewhat disappointed with the HIStory Bible because of the small font, and the blue letters for the words of Christ are too light in my opinion. But I'm still glad I purchased it because, like other Humble Lamb Bibles, it is so unique and lovely. Thank you for the comparison review.

The HIStory Bible runs the text too much into the gutter

I have the Topaz in NKJV dark blue goatskin, Randy, , and the quality of the very readable typeface and size, page layout and the beautiful leather makes this bible wonderful to hold and read. I’m not a fan of Humble Lamb after buying one once and found their choice of leather to be poor quality compared to Cambridge, Allen, and Schuyler. That History bible looks fat and clunky, plus all of the details on the page looks cluttered, as well as the tight upright way it sits, does not appeal at all.

I would have considered the Topaz but I have no interest in the 2020 text. I will stick with versions that offer the 1995 text.
