I don't think the decline in fans is necessarily related to the decline in interest from fans. I think we're seeing the results of rampant inflation. Bristol is in the middle of nowhere and most have to drive several hours just to get there. People just can't afford it. Gas, food, hotels, tickets, the costs are pretty high, with less expendable income a trip to Bristol isn't exactly high on the priority list

First time in a while where all a driver's skill and strategy played such a huge role in the outcome. A lot of modern Nascar races force everyone to follow the same basic pit strategy (road courses are the exception now that they've removed the caution for stage breaks), but this freak situation had cars pitting all over the place. Third, get rid of the Colosseum clash at the beginning of the season bring it back to Daytona, where it belongs. Four, two races at Indianapolis one on the oval one on the road course. The road course is a good race, but they need to get back to superspeedway racing. Five, the second race at Daytona run the same course that they do the 24 hour race get rid of the kink in the front straight away. Six. Run the long course at Watkins Glen. All of these things will contribute to the better NASCAR racing that we all expect.
