just bought the game, my first nascar game I ever played, (nascar style racing as well) I usually play games like granturismo, and project cars. Nascar is very good. the menu is very smooth and easy to navigate unlike project cars 1 and 2.

Picked up the ultimate edition for $29.99. I'm not a nascar fan at all but I love driving games and stock car racing is fun. I hope almost a hear after it's still a good buy. I'll probably only care about online mode other than at the beginning trying to learn the mechanics. I appreciate the solid review, I was honestly on the fence for a couple days because I knew nothing of the series

Very fair review. As someone who also owns and has played many hours of Heat 4, I can honestly say I think Heat 5 will EVENTUALLY be worth the 50 bucks. But as for now I can enjoy Heat 4 the same level I think

I bought it in 2024. It feels barebones compared to EA's older console games, but it's still fun. Runs smoother than emulating the older games.

No problem, and I don’t think so. I think you just have to do it all at once.

@@robdok2533 oh. Those are just stages. The game does have that, as they’re done in real life, but it doesn’t let you save and leave and come back to finish it. It’s still just done in one sitting.

@@RedRhinoMusic It is better done in the F1 series. I can stop practice, qualifying or race at any time and save game. Unfortunately, when you have children, it is sometimes difficult to get through the race at once !) Regards from Germany

I think lowering the reverb helped in heat 4 for the sound issue

I'm still playing heat 3. These game companies really need to implement an upgrade feature, instead of paying full price for the next update. I would like to buy heat 5, but is it really $30 (heat 5 is $30 now) better than heat 3? I doubt it. Maybe $5-10.

I’ve had them come and go. Only occasionally do they still pop up. I believe it comes from the wall reverb sound which you can turn off in the settings.

I had heat 4, just picked up Heat 5 for 20 bucks, but as far as I've been reading everyone says it's a worse game. But for 20 bucks I guess I'll find out :)

I’m quite new to NASCAR and I recently bought Project Cars 2 as it was on sale and I really wanted to start doing nascar races in games. It’s ok but the AI is not that good and hardly anyone races online. That led to me thinking whether I should buy a nascar game. After watching your review, I think I’m going to go and buy Nascar heat 5. Just to make sure, will it be easy to find online races as I really want to give it a try?

It depends on your platform. I’m on pc but I don’t really play the online so I’m not sure how populated it is. The consoles usually have a lot of players, well at least for Heat 4.

i got it for 15 bucks so at that price im liking what i got its not as good as the older ea sports games,those games had much more realistic throttle control and this game the back tires never lose traction and with 800 horsepower its just not at all fun in the aspect of if i throw this car off in a corner and set the front tire with taping with brake then ease on the gas as the older games if you just smashed the gas you would spin out so not impressed with the realism by any means,i can just hammer the gas in this and never lose traction so glad i got it cheap or would have refunded at full price.

I own Heat 4 and the cars under braking are off and get out of control. Thr incar view on road courses, Richmond, Phoenix i just simply cant judge the entry to corners. cant see out the left side

Well It is now Feb 2024 and all these games are out now. I only have Nascar Heat 4 just to try out and see how good/bad it is. The only thing I don't like about any of these game (and they all seem to do the same thing) is - there are no decent pace laps like in IRacing, and there is no decent actual pitting by the AI when cautions come out. We the driver can do pitting, but I never see the AI go into the pits. Unrealistic game operation for these games. There is more than just racing on the track. It also comes down to going into the pits at the right times and try to beat the other AI cars out onto the track to gain positions. This clicking on a menu, do your fixes and fuel, and just jump back into the track for the green flag is ridiculous - that is if you are serious about doing Nascar racing correctly. I have the older Nascar Racing 2003 by Papyrus installed and has better realistic driving and pitting than any of the modern PC Nascar games. Only thing about NR 2003 is the graphics is much older and not as detailed. But racing in this game is fun. Right now I will wait till 2025 for the IRacing development of a PC console Nascar game. This new future game should make these older games look sick in realistic racing. Till then, we have to suffer with these makeshift Nascar games. Bye!!!

Would be great if Nascar 6 ("Nascar 21") would be more realistic, in the direction of a simulation. Or at least have both arcade and realism modes. I don't like iRacing because of the subscription model. Also it doesn't focus on Nascar. I understand people being mad about trolls and stuff, who crash into you, if you have a problem with crashes, you should be able to turn ghosting on. But this doesn't justify to make ghosting a hard rule in the game and cars only go spinning and being able to return to the race as if nothing happened, no matter how hard the accident was.

I think the majority of players are on controllers. I’ve used one and it’s definitely usable. It’s just a little harder to hold the car perfectly smooth with the sticks.

Get NR2003. It's free and you can go into the track ini files and change how the cars drive on the track. You can also have actual crashes by changing the drafting distance. You can download mods, and fictional tracks. 100x better then Heat 5. My laptop is almost a decade old, almost as old as me, and it runs NR2003 with decent graphics at 20 FPS
