In the old scoring system consistency was a big thing but now with the way the playoffs are done a win gets you automatically in and then once your in the playoffs a win advances you so nascar has made wins more important which I think is crazy

I was watching logano's in car on KZbin and it just looks so stressful racing here. The cars are dancing around so much and you are so close to everyone. You have to really have trust in the guys driving around you. One mistake moving a couple inches too much or someone having a split second late reaction can end your race in.

After the mega-crash, maybe they wanted to get it down to a green-white-checkers and decrease the likelihood of another big wreck before the race was over. It takes them a good part of a lap on this track to get up to speed, so the next-to-last lap is less likely to have a wreck after an overtime restart, and once the white flag flies its over whatever flag gets flown next.
