At least Trevor ran ARCA. Starr never ran ARCA. At least, not regularly, during my time there, which would been about that point in his career. ARCA couldn't survive David Starr being in the series. The payback isn't that great as it is, but he would've bankrupted teams by causing, or coming in late to an accident, like in this case. I will never understand, how on God's green earth Starr has found *that* many idiot owners who would let him wreck their inventory of cars and parts.

Not really a fan of the whole uncontrolled tire rule. If it stays in the pit box and is being wheeled to the wall by a crewman, how is that uncontrolled? I get the whole arms length thing but come on. Stupid.
@DDS0296 жыл бұрын
Was it within arm's length THE WHOLE TIME. That's the wrinkle. After I stopped working for an ARCA team, I became a full time ARCA, and a two or three races a year NASCAR official. All these rule came about because someone got hurt. Probably bad. You don't hear about ALL of the injured pit road officials, and safety workers, until something like JPM hitting a jet dryer. I was working the flagstand at an ARCA dirt race that was live either on FS1 or MAVTV. Dean Roper died of a heart attack while racing. When we got back to racing sometime later, I had a heart attack. Which one do you think the viewing public knew about? The drivers are the show, I'm not. Of curse you SHOULD hear about him. Although, after the years I put into ARCA, a get well mention, at the end, or on the next race broadcast, would have been nice.
@anywherebuthome6 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you are back to safe health. Thank you for all the time and dedication you put into our sport of NASCAR. I agree that officials should maybe get some insight along with the drivers. A weekly "meet your NASCAR Officials" segment would be cool. Nobody realizes that even in the Vegas heat where drivers and crewmen are complaining about how hot they are, the officials are standing without shade in the same fire suits.

Indy sucks for stock cars. This is coming from a indy resident who adorers the speed way. It was built in 1909 they had no clue what airo tight was. Back then it was more about the thrill of raw speed more than side by side racing thats why its 4 long strates connected by 4 tight narrow corners. All the og tracks were made with the thrill of top speed in mind ( la mans, spa, Nuremberg ring, original monza) they were all huge strates for huge top speed. As time moved on race fans have changed and what they came to see has as well now no one cares how fast a car comes by them but rather that it bee side by side pack racing, and IMS is just to flat and old fashioned to be able to put on that kinda show. Its not 1915 any more and the cars are so much faster i thank they have moved past this layout. The 500 is still a good show, well more than the brick yard calls the cars have more grip and really they are made and designed for that track hints the name indy car. I thank nascar has 3 options 1 make indy tare up the 110 year old land mark and re do it for a more modern layout( like monza or Nuremberg ring) not likely to happen. 2 change the cars ( slow them down so airo dosnt matter with smaller ci motors and less spoiler and spliters) witch no one at nascar seems to wana do. They are going to shove this every race should be daytona or talidaga restictor plate thing down our throats. Or 3 just spend the money revamp Lucas race way park and race right down the road at a track made for stock cars. Or bonus idea run the roval at indy.

Nascar couldn't survive on big names alone for the simple fact put one big name (example: Denny Hamlin) in one those less desirable slow rides that he talks so much trash about being in the way and let's see how well he would do in that equipment. We will never know bc they want give a less team their services. The car makes the driver and all these heroes need to b in same equipment as everyone else and then let's see some racing.

The real drivers would shine!

You do know that Denny Hamlin isn't the only guy to talk trash about drivers in bad equipment right? I agree with making everything more equal with equipment but saying one specific driver talks trash about guys in the back effecting the outcome of races isn't right.

I definitely agree! Ross Chastain is proof of that

Also Matt Kenseth and Kasey Kahne are proof of that as well
