You should give a listen to "These Are Days" by 10,000 Maniacs. It's my personal favorite and was on constant rotation back in the 90's. The song even hit #1 on Billboard's Modern Rock chart

Everything just fits so well together on this song. Her understated vocals, the guitar interludes, the killer bass line and the percussion is just so perfectly blended.

There was a 3rd single from this album, called “Jealousy”. The rest of the tracks are great as well, especially “River” which is about the death of River Phoenix. And Beloved Wife is about her grandmother’s death from the perspective of her grandfather

I know you reacted to Natalie Merchant 7 months ago and it’s not “Officially” on the TOP whatever charts, but her song, “River” from this same album is beyond the beyond! It is a song referencing River Phoenix’s death from a drug overdose. If you were into the “Grunge” scene or even just appreciated his movies and contributions to entertainment during that time, you were saddened by the loss of a talent that could have been…so much more!! It would be lovely if you did a reaction to that song as well.

I thought I'd suggest another band to give a listen, if interested. "Pretenders - Back On The Chain Gang (Official Music Video)" --The Pretenders is a British rock band formed in 1978. Their genres of music consist of rock, pop rock, new wave and alternative rock. The founding members were primary singer/songwriter Chrissie Hynde (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), James Honeyman-Scott (lead vocals, backing vocals, keyboard), Pete Farndon (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Martin Chambers (drums, backing vocals, percussion). The band has had numerous personnel changes; Hynde has been the band's only consistent member.
