Great video, just would have like to have seen the splits and maybe a different angle or two. to demonstrate how fast they were truly moving.

I remember seeing her at our track meets in high school (armory NYC). She had blond dreadlocks back then. Awesome career.

I was a middle/long distant runner in High School....so during the Autumn we do strength endurance, December we start doing intermediaries. Then January is where the murder begins..how about 15x400's @ 60 to 65 secs and jog between all under 90 degrees F in Jamaica as a 16 year old.Honestly - Track and Field athletics training is the toughest training on the planet...

John ARTWELL yes it is! And my high school rarely even recognizes our track team because of the football team with a long losing streak. I feel as though people don't think of track as a hard sport because they think it's just running

@@kalabrown6340 I use to be a Football player, a boxer & a Track sprinter. And I can honestly say that I've never gotten seriously injured in Football & Boxing but I was injured almost all the time in Track. Pulled hammies, quads, Achilles tendon issues, calf muscle twinges, & even groin pulls. And Track Training was 10 times tougher than Football & boxing combined. This is not to say that Football & Boxing wasn't tough, track training was just more exhausting & tiring! I feel both of your pain!

Now thats a torturous training at your high school. It puts thes guys to shame. It does not look like they are running nearly as hard as your high school.

John, that is a brutal workout! How much rest would y'all get between sets? Were you allowed to stop and rest or did you have to maintain a jog between sets?

lefou67 lefou67 Listen to what the coach said in the beginning, this kind of training is more for mental training than anything else. Besides, I've trained at an Olympic level and you hardly ever train fast. As the season progresses then you turn up the speed just a little and you want to peak at the right time of the year. Sprinters do longer distance in the beginning of the season. And even at the end of the season you never go past 90% speed in training and that's even too fast. You only go top speed in a race. In essence training fast or at your fastest means you will peak at the wrong time of the season and actually burn out.

I believe I heard someone call out 1:10 on the last piece. But I don't know for sure, it was a few seconds after 7:00, a woman was calling them out in the background.

The editing on this is very poor. You cannot tell how hard they are working. In fact it looks like they are loafing. If nothing else post the times like other videos so that we can keep this in perspective.

There is lot of problems with this workout. 3 will be okay + something else shorter distance. This workout do too much damage to their body running 6×500. Did she said they just came from the weight room. If so that even crazier.. they are doing a lot of damage to their body. Burning out their body

you clearly have absolutely no idea of what training as a sprinter is like and what that 7 seven minutes rest is for. They are running the same quality and about the same splits for each 500. And them jogging is easily faster than you running your absolute fastest. Id like to see you run anywhere near their pace for one 500(which you couldn't even come close to) then run similar times back to back for 6 reps. Also their pace will look much faster in real life because the camera is moving with them so you cant see how much ground they cover in each stride but you wouldn't know about that because you've clearly never made a sprint track team in your life.

killa cam in a video, Mo Farah's trainer said "Come on, come on, everybody can run fast when they are fully recovered". I'm a runner myself and I think this is absolutely true. On tuesday I have 4x( 600m (1:45 to 1:50), 300m ( 45 to 47). We have 100m walk rest between 600m and 300m and 2 minutes between the series. With 7 minutes rest I'd normally run 600m in 1:32 and 300m in 38, but with so little rest it is even difficult to keep 46 pace for 300m
