Olympian Natasha Hastings recounts her story navigating the mental health challenges of being a competitive athlete, embracing her own vulnerability, and her journey to becoming a mental health advocate and counselor. Natasha Hastings is an Olympic, World, and US National Champion Track and Field Sprinter. She specializes in the 400 and 4×400-meter relay events. She’s also an influencer, entrepreneur, mom, and philanthropist. While Natasha accomplished a lot on the track, she knows that rest is just as important as exertion. She’s also a mental health advocate and decided to pursue a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health in order to help eradicate the stigma around mental health in her community. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
