This is a really great talk. It’s daunting what we are facing and most people have no idea. Millions will be blindsided. The one thing I think is missing is AI. Between ai and humanoid robots there’s no need for humans as anything except consumers. But of course if all workers are out of a job then it’s hard to be a good consumer. This is a bigger trigger to financial collapse than energy (we still have a lot) or geopolitics (war can be good for economy) You can see what jobs are going to be replaced by what data is being forced on to the cloud. I’m an engineer though to be safe from ai and now many softwares can only be used on the cloud.

Jobs that AI replaces were/ are fake jobs anyway

I always appreciate Nate's talks, but the laughter coming from the audience was really quite disturbing. It seems to indicate that even they, of all people, aren't yet taking the situation seriously enough, imho.

I think it was one individual, that seemed to have a rather innocent, but mildly annoying personal issue, of some kind. That's why it didn't bother me.

Very annoying, but some people cope by laughing.

I agree with you on the four types of the economy and I agree with your assessment in the short-term but I think you should have said that the Mordor economy will lead to the mad Max economy for our children. The great simplification economy should lead to a green growth economy for our children. Unfortunately every indication is that in the short-term we are headed to the Mordor economy. The question then becomes how do we avoid mad Max going from the Mordor economy to simplification and eventually to green growth. I have a disagreement with you here in the pathways. I have a disagreement with you here with the title, because words are important, over the Great simplification. Furthermore we're already in the Mordor economy. We are going to continue it until there's nothing left to leave the kids or we buckle down and get real complicated and change paths. Which is the moral thing to do?

We are embedded in Bio-logical illusion in a way that we have to believe in a delusion of eternal permanence. Relative-timing projection-drawing moving pictures makes a superimposed patterning of sync-duration Elemental e-Pi-i Entanglement, infinitesimal positioning integration In-form-ation. Of course we delude ourselves about individual importance, but it's only temporarily true, which is why "we the people" are required to understand and communicate with each other as we fit in ecological pulse-evolution differentiates here-now-forever, ie Newtonian Fluxion-Integral Temporal superposition Calculus, in Completeness Actuality of pure-math relative-timing Principle Imagery.

It's a good thing that money is just an idea...I hope I live to see the day when we keep doing what we do and everything is shared. Comforts and luxuries based on education levels, experience/skill sets, age, hours worked for free towards. Or we accept life isn't fair and strangle each other! LOL

God is more sacred than the living earth. He created it and all things that dwell here. We were given the responsibility of caring for His Earth and His Creation.
