Love, love, love! ❤ When my grandchildren were little, I gave each of them a special ornament. I would take them back and keep them in a box. Whenever they became old enough to have their own apartment with their own tree, I sent them their box of ornaments. They loved it. I would like to try these this year as I have become stumped for new ideas. Thanks Nate! ❤

What a unique idea for ornaments. I will try this with a 4 cup turner that I got on Amazon. It comes with stands that serve the same purpose as the candle. It’s worth the $41 cost when you are making to sell. The holders fit the stem of the ornament perfectly.

Oh wauw Nate, these are beautiful 😍 I love all the colours, and funny that your video popped op today, less than an hour ago I was thinking on how to fixate the ornaments i bought last year. Last year I ended up mainly doing pigments inside inspired by Kelly. And bought some flat ones because I saw Louise make them, så k never solved the mystery. And hey, why didn't I think of candlesticks, that's brilliant. For sure I'm gonna try this with the enamel, they are absolutely gorgeous. 😍 Thank you so much for sharing, inspiring and spreading Christmas vibes, just what I needed. 😃

Mr Nate, they are gorgeous. I love the darker blue. Reminds me of ice over the ocean. The lighter blue is the one I see as feathers gentle enveloping the ornament. I definitely will try this. I'd like your opinion about using resin as a finish rather than varnish. Would it be more shiny, too difficult, or impossible. I don't want to waste resin if I don't have to. Thank you for sharing your truly creative nature with us. ❤
@NateBrightArt7 күн бұрын
Hi Bonnie! Thank you so much! I haven't tried resin on these yet, but I think it will be amazing. And here's some great news... resin doesn't bond to wax! so using a candle as the support will make it very easy to finish them off.

@NateBrightArt7 күн бұрын
Yay! I can't wait to see yours! I dispersed my TLP's in GAC800, and then added my regular pouring medium. I think any pm would work... just remember that floetrol dries matte, so you'll have to resin or varnish if you want to see sparkle.

Hi, Nate! You popped up on my feed! I was looking for my sleep story and found you instead! Lucky me! Is it possible to tell me just what products you are using? I just moved to civilization from living in the hinterlands. I’m not sure if I need a proper art store or something as basic as Joanne’s or Michael’s. I have all three near by (I already have the glass balls! Yay!). I’d like to do this correctly! Are you on Patreon? Let me know that, too! Betsy. PS: I want to make my sleep deprivation worth it!!! Looks so beautiful for gifts! THANKS!!! ❤
@NateBrightArtКүн бұрын
Hi Elizabeth! The good news is you can get almost everything I used here on Amazon! You'll want to order: 1. DecoArt Satin Enamel White 2. Floetrol (paint conditioner) 3. Any color acrylic paint you like from Liquitex Basics, Amsterdam or Golden (my preferences) Try the regular paints first before trying the dry pigments, which I get from www.fluid-art.co. Mix 1 part satin enamel to 2 parts Floetrol and then thin with water to a very thin consistency. If it you don't get the right effect when you pour, you didn't use enough water. Mix your paints the same way, but add less water - they should be slightly thicker than your satin enamel mix. And yes! You can find me on Patreon under Nate's Art Lab!
@jackiebennet53466 күн бұрын
I LOVE the way your ornaments turned out. I'd love to give this a try because I have been doing some ornaments myself lately. I do have a few questions though. I don't have the same kinds of paints as you used, and I don't have any piggy pigments. All I have are Artist Loft tube paints, and Liqutex liquid paints, in bottles. What would be a good mixture for these types of paints? Can Floetrol be used, or is it best to just use water? How thick or thin should be colored paints be? I will be using plastic ornaments to pour over. I have a cat so no glass on my tree. LOL
@NateBrightArt4 күн бұрын
Hi Jackie! You should be able to use any paints or pouring medium you like... as long as your base coat is made with DecoArt Satin Enamel White. Unfortunately I haven't found anything else that works to give that frosted glass look. I buy mine from amazon... I think it's $10 for an 8 ounce jar. And a little goes a long way! 4 ounces of pouring medium, 2 ounces of satin enamel and (roughly) 2 ounces of water will give you 8 ounces of mixed paint. My base coat paint is super thin, almost like water - but the colors I pour on top are thicker consistency and leave a small mound when drizzled off of the stir stick. I hope that helps!
@jackiebennet53464 күн бұрын
@@NateBrightArt Thank you so much Nate. Thanks to a packaging mishap by Micheals, I have plenty of Satin Enamel. I ordered 2 jars and they both leaked all over the box, so Micheals sent me 2 replacement jars. I can't wait to try your method. They are so pretty. My favorites are the dark blue one and both of the reddish ones. BTW. Your candle idea is great. I'm going to try it, because even though my setup works pretty well, I like your idea better. It keeps the ornaments more stable. Thanks again for taking the time to get back to me. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. God bless. 😊

Help! I have tried 2 vases and two ornaments after listening to your video 32 times. I have the Deco Art Matt Satin as you showed on the video. I am not sure if I am hearing that you said you added a pouring medium or just all water. If you did add a pouring medium, what was it? Do you mine listing the actual ingredients? You can tell I’m a newbie, but I want to perfect this pouring technique. I love them on the ornaments and the candle holders that you demonstrated. Thank you for your quick responses.
@NateBrightArt4 күн бұрын
Hi KB! My pouring medium is 2 parts US Floetrol to 1 part PVA glue (Elmer's Glue All will work but NOT Elmer's School Glue) to 1 part gloss varnish. I mixed it 2 parts pouring medium to 1 part DecoArt Satin Enamel. But ANY pouring medium should work - even just Floetrol. The key is to use the Satin Enamels and enough water to get it super thin. It should leave no mound at all when drizzled off of your stir stick! Questions always welcome! I hope that helps

Hi Elizabeth! The white mix was 1 part DecoArt Satin enamels, 2 parts pouring medium (any of them will do) and water to a very thin consistency- leaves no mound at all when drizzled off of the stir stick. I hope that helps!
@janiceEM19455 күн бұрын
I have several questions if you would be so kind to answer them, since I can’t afford Australian flow what else do you recommend? Next is what is your ratio when you mix the deco, art satin, and what is your pouring medium and ratio?
@NateBrightArt4 күн бұрын
Hi Janice! For the cell activator, I use Aussie Floetrol. But I've seen other artists use just Elmer's Glue All (not the school glue version) and water. I make my own pouring medium with 2 parts US Floetrol, 1 part PVA Glue and 1 part gloss varnish. But any pouring medium should work. Just mix it 2 parts PM to 1 part DecoArt Satin Enamel, and then thin with water until it leaves no trace when drizzled off of the stir stick. I hope that helps!
