Nate saying he’s not a maniac as he is ranting like a maniac is priceless. He was so wrapped up in his rant that he didn’t even realize Aaron was making fun of him when he said, “Is part of you jealous of that joy they still have….that they’re not jaded?” That was comedy gold and yet Nate just kept ranting. Brian deserves an apology and Nate you should thank Breakfast for putting up with you despite your idiosyncrasies.

Moral of this episode: never, under any circumstance tell Nate he is difficult. He’ll show you difficult. I thought at any second he was going to come after B. Bates’ mom, sister, and grandma. Yikes. Additionally, Mr. Travel, since you do travel every second of your life, it would follow that you would be more familiar with what your suitcase looks like, compared to the average traveler of once or twice a year who is likely less familiar with what their suitcase looks like and may benefit from tying something on it that will stand out.

To sum up the 45 minute rant: Bates travels differently than Nate, due to lack of traveling at all, compared to Nate who travels full time and has for a long time. Bates probably approaches an airport like 99% of the population, but since he doesn’t do it the way Nate does it, he sucks and is worse than having to lug around multiple children while traveling. And yes you’re that bad because Nate says so. #IStandWithBreakfast

Nathanial, Aaronnicus, and Bisquick…the way y’all COULD NOT get a handle on the fish vs fisherman metaphor was spot on for this podcast. The point of “give a man a fish vs teach a man to fish”, is that this man is either dependent on others for his sustenance or he has the ability himself to go get his own sustenance. None of you figured it out. Even getting a job at Taco Bell is still him being dependent on someone else for his survival. Teaching him how to make himself some tacos would’ve been the answer. Most of the more severe illnesses happen to people by surprise, unexpectantly, impacting first in the brain, then in the corresponding organ which that part of the brain controls. The end of WWI had absolutely everything to do with the Flu and lung TB outbreak that occurred killing millions. In nature, the biological conflict linked with a territorial fear (just what it means-a fear in your territory, your home, your community, etc.) is a widening of the bronchia (tissue loss). Your body attempts to widen your bronchia in order to allow more air into your lungs to give you more strength and energy to fight to keep your territory safe. Stay with me.......The biological conflict linked with a death fright impacts the lungs. The lungs attempt to grow larger in order to allow more air in because breath equals life, as we all know. No breath equals death. While you are in the fear or death fright conflict, you notice no symptoms of “disease”, except you have cold hands, cold feet, you can’t sleep, you awaken at 3 AM every night, you have little appetite. During the war, millions of people were in fear of the bombing of their homes and cities where the war was most active. Fearing for their lives, their loved ones in the war, their ability to survive. The food in the stores was sparse due to shortages. This lasted for 4 long years! The longer the conflict, the worse the healing phase. Within 2 weeks of the German Chancellor announcing the end of WWI, these millions of people ALL went into the healing phase all at the same time. It is during the healing phase that you experience symptoms of illness! What is the healing phase of the bronchia widening? Severe bronchitis, pneumonia. The body attempts to refill this lost tissue and you experience inflammation, fever, coughing, body aches, fatigue, etc. What is the healing phase of the extra lung tissue that grew? Decomposing of the tissue by TB bacteria and fungi. The symptoms of this healing phase are: severe coughing up of blood and tissue, fever, inflammation, severe mucous, body aches, fatigue. During this decomposing of the extra tissue (tumor), the body expels a lot of protein, and without replenishment, severe protein loss can result in death. Antibiotics did not exist yet. If TB bacteria does not exist in a person or they have been vaccinated against TB (big mistake), then the tumor will simply encapsulate and become dormant and not harm you. Who died during the Spanish Flu? Mainly the poor who could not afford to buy meat and proper nourishment, and the people who were directly impacted by the bombings and destruction of their homes. Millions of people suffered fear and death frights during the fighting of WWI, and millions of people all went into healing at the end of it. Not everyone was affected because not everyone suffered the same way. It’s not a “flu”, it’s not something you “catch”. It’s biological, meaningful, and unavoidable. One hundred years later, a Fear Campaign begins, using the media to spread it......

I’ve always been a bit uncomfortable with the way he treats Brian, but it seems like they’re friends in real life, so hopefully there’s more to it than Brian playing the punching bag for him. But man, if you’re generous with your friends and then you throw that in their face the moment they have a mild critique of you, that’s pretty low. First class treatment with some strings attached. I hope Nate was just having a bad day… we all have them. But a bit more discretion in the editing room and an apology to Brian if you actually value his friendship and contributions would be great.

Getting jokes does make you feel smart. As a young teacher In 2014, I watched Last Comic Standing. I got every joke. I was old enough for the older references and young enough for newer references. I thought I had arrived and would always just "get it" for the rest of my life! Weeks later my students started to say "bae" in reference to their significant other. This confused me, and I realized I had passed into being old. Regrettably, it has been downhill ever since. I'll go proofread this now.

Also the garage sale & yard sale debate has a simple answer. It depends on where the sale is. If it's in your yard then it's a yard sale & if it's out of your garage then it's a garage sale. I guess if it's both then you can pick or interchange the terms. And as for the beanie vs toboggan debate, the difference is the beanie doesn't have a part to flip up based on its length & is usually thinner material. A toboggan is usually thicker material & is long enough to flip the bottom part over. Keep up the great work! Thanks for making Wednesdays more enjoyable!

Nate, I've watched you for years and I remember when Full Time Magic came out. I loved both of your Netflix specials and I was ecstatic to find out you had your own podcast (heard you on Tom and Christina's podcast a few months back). I've been listening and watching as much as possible from episode 1, and waiting patiently to comment until I was caught up. It was absolutely worth it! My 9 year old son, Riker, has been there for a lot of episodes too, and he also loves your stand up. In fact, our New Year's Eve festivities included some of our favorite things- pizza, candy, soda, video games, and a couple Nateland Podcasts! Thank you Nate, Aaron, and Banjo Banana for giving me and my son so much comedy that we can enjoy together. We will see you at your matinee this Saturday here in St. Louis! P.S. Congrats to Brian on his baby breakfast!

Hey Brian awesome show as always! You had me in stitches. Love your stuff. But what’s the deal with ol Nacho these days…? He seems kinda chippy lately. I know it’s “his” show and all but if he keeps this up I don’t see Nateland lasting much longer than Taco Bell lasted in my stomach.

Brian's stare at Nate while Nate was going off about people trading seats on a plane after Nate told him he is the worst to travel with had me rolling! As a traveling consultant who used to travel 50-75% of the year I could totally relate to Nate's flight etiquette and people's lack of awareness while traveling. Can't wait to see Nate this weekend in Indianapolis - I'm going to try and trade seats at the show to see if it works.

Fun fact. I actually did trade seats at his show and it did not work! Good luck, folks.

Hi! I’ve been working my 3rd job doing delivery for DoorDash, and listened to all the episodes from beginning to current while I’m driving. It adds a lot of laughs to my day! I love your insights and perspective because it comes from a pretty grounded place overall. Driving has me more road rage-y than I’d ever thought possible. I’d love to know your take on road rage and if you have practices when your driving on how not to be annoyed with other drivers. I’m big fan of the podcast. I love the banter. I’m also going to the show in my town, Redding, ca in March. I would love to see Brian and Aaron come to my town as well! Hint hint!! Y’all stay blessed! Love the show!

My great aunt lived til she was 97 and for the last year or so of her life whenever someone would ask her age she would say “old enough that I don’t buy green bananas anymore”, meaning she wasn’t sure she would live to see them ripen. Both morbid AND hilarious.

Hey Nate, Bentley, Aaron, much love and thanks to all y’all. Long time commenter here, first time listener. Love this podcast, it’s like “ask the experts” but without the hassle of experts. I wonder if Miriam asked Webster one day while they were just looking up at clouds or stars, “bruh, what if we wrote down all the words?” “Like even Canadian words like Toque?” “I guess so, but let’s not worry too much about pronunciation, we do have to make it to W and so on”. In all seriousness, Nateland is my favorite podcast of all time, so far, even if I have forgotten to pronounce some words i used to know by listening. So, thank you, and I expect better in the future.

I am also an avid Aaronland listener (same age) but I also came up in the restaurant industry. I would get a check that said "this is not a check" across it. Servers are paid on average $2-3 per hour (all taxed away). We work for tips and if we get stiffed on a table that means we had to lose money to serve them.
@reneepoche152 жыл бұрын
When I waited tables we also had to tip out the bartenders and bus boys 4% of our sales (NOT 4% of our tips). So that meant if you wanted on a table and they didn’t tip you literally paid to wait on them because you now owe 4% of their bill to other staff.

Nate can dish it out but can’t really take it… for all the things he has said about Aaron and Brazier, “you’re difficult to travel with” really struck a chord. So he resorted to belittling his friend and using his generosity as a weapon against him… pretty gross! I’d rather drive alone then fly free in first class if it was only going to be used against me! Love you guys, I’ve listened to every episode 2-3 times. But the ending of this was disappointing, and never should have made it on air. Let’s get back to the fun!

Random comment. I was watching a short documentary on the largest land crab and it was mentioned that this crab can lift the equivalent of "10 house bricks"...then, I said out loud to myself "yeah, but how many Rhode islands is that." Love this podcast

1:23:23 - I have a friend from Lubbock, TX who says almost exactly the same phrase Nate uses here "Get on outta here, He-yah" and I crack up every time I hear anyone say it. Definitely a "southern/rural/ranch-hand" expression that is very under-rated! "He-yah Now"

I am from Indiana, but the church I grew up in had a lot of people from the south. I heard a lot of people say “warsh”, and it actually ruined a prayer for me. The pastor would routinely pray, saying “Lord, we come to worship You today.” I couldn’t help but hear it as “Lord, we come to Warsh a Pew today.” I always picture everyone with a bucket of soapy water cleaning the seats!

Hello ! I don’t ever really comment on KZbin videos but for some reason I felt the need to. I like watching the podcast it’s very chill and funny, but on this one I think Nate might of been a little harsh with Brian , and he needs to apologize. Not trying to tell you what to do but just saying. Maybe not such a good idea to go that hard on him and mostly not in public on the podcast . Idk 🤷🏻♀️ I just thought I’d say that . ……. I think Nate needs a vacation, he has been very snappy lately . Don’t take it out on your friends .

Nate is talking about his knowledge of being a passenger on a flight in the same manner someone else may talk about the knowledge they gained by being a doctor or a scientist. I traveled all over the world for 31 years in the Air Force and I never realized being a passenger was so difficult. I'm dying laughing.
