Nate takes a lot of heat for his reading and pronouncing, BUT he deserves serious props for the way he *describes* his reading foibles. "It's when the words sneak up around the corner," or "It was like I was trying to skip across a creek and not get my feet wet." The fact that he comes up with these on the spot, and that they make perfect sense, is a testament to how he has mastered the use and formulation of words. Keep up the great work, dudes. Thanks for an awesome year!

You guys...this made me teary eyed. I discovered this podcast at a not so great time in my life. I had been a fan of Nate's comedy and was subscribed to his channel because of his hilarious "On the Road" videos. And one day, out of the blue - there was this podcast. I was hooked and I've been here ever since. Certainly, I've come to realise just how horrible Nate is at pronouncing words - but that has only made me love this podcast and Nate's personality even more. Don't worry, Brian and Aaron - the folks love you too. Dearly.

The story about brisket stealing first base back is incredible !!! 🤣🤣
@Maximum_Goodness3 жыл бұрын
I completely understand this happening. My experience is extremely similar. I was on first when the batter hit a short pop. I didn’t even leave the base. The 2nd baseman caught it and was standing right in the way to 2nd. Something short-circuited in my brain and I HAD to go to 2nd. I started running at the 2nd baseman toward 2nd base. The look of confusion on his face as I ran right in to him and got called out followed by my coach yelling “what the hell is wrong with you?” I’ve been there Barnaby. I’ve been there too. Or the time I was up to bat and looked at my third base coach for the signs and zoned out not paying attention. After a while I realized I was just staring down third not thinking about anything I didn’t want to make it any more awkward asking for the sign again I just went up to the plate and hit a triple down the first base line. Coach immediately pulled me from the game and didn’t let me play another game the rest of that season thinking I either did it intentionally or was the dumbest kid ever on the team.

Been stuck for awhile now on the idea of a buddy comedy about a pirate duo named "Barnacle and Blonde Beard", who serve as Captain Nate's right hand henchmen, who can't help but ruin every episode's master plan -- I mean just SINGLE-HANDEDLY and undeniably holding back Nate's ships from overtaking the rival pirate hoards, while remaining convinced that "well, frankly, if it weren't for the *HIM*, Nate and I would rule the seas"... Possibilities are endless. From one Nashvillian to another, thanks for all the laughs, Folk-Lords! God Bless.

I think about how Nate butchered the word "civilizations" by saying "civilian station" at least twice a month. Not only did he miss the word completely, he also ADDED an entirely different word as well (station) that has nothing to do with the original word. Unbelievable. There's something vaguely genius about the mess-up.

LET’S GO FOLKS! That was awesome. It was great to take a stroll down memory lane. In my humble opinion, a more recent entry also deserves to be on the best of episode. Hello folks! Absolutely love the podcast y’all and the ‘Best Of’ video... I still think we need one of just the best one-liners from each episode. My favorite quote to use out of context is the unfathomable question Nate posed - then proceeded to answer himself - from the fast food episode. When my coworkers and I are debating where to grab a quick bite for lunch I’ll say “What’s the difference between McDonald’s and Michael Jordan?? Nothing.” And then they immediately pull into Arby’s instead, ignoring me and my constant quoting. Looking forward to seeing Nate live in Tupelo, MS, later this month! This episode was a fantastic idea, by the way. Great way to catch up or be refreshed on all the inside jokes and call-backs. I'm a faithful listener!
