I went back and listened to this again because I am one of the commenters (13min 26seconds into it). I was feeling kind of achy and tired and stretched out on the couch to listen, expecting to doze off while the video played Nate's soothing banter. Instead, I ended up laughing until I cried through all of it while Burger Boy tee'd up the theory behind psychology experiments and Nate shot them down, reducing them to comedy rubble. Felt 100 percent a-ok by the end of it. Love this podcast. You guys are so fun! P.S. my name is pronounced MA-RINK-OH-VITCH.

Great show tonight! I have a degree in Psychology. While studying, we did experiments on animals our freshman and sophomore years. Nearly 50% of my papers ended with "subject deceased". Junior and senior years found us doing our experiments on freshmen and sophomores. Exactly 0% of my papers ended with "subject deceased". Apparently giant sewer rats are easier to accidentally kill than 20 and 21 year old college students. Thank heavens. We never did experiments on children. Nate, we DO have emotions.

My wife and I took a mediterranean cruise for our honeymoon 10 years ago. Out of nowhere halfway through my wife belts out “I can’t take it anymore! Why are you poorly mimicking everyone’s accents?!” I was flabbergasted as I didn’t realize I was doing it. From that point forward I caught myself doing very poor accents. Apparently in my mind it made it so they could understand me better? Wife loves telling people this story still today 10 years later. Just seems like something Nate would do too.

Loved the episode! I am a private practice Licensed Professional Counselor. I am the low man on the psychology totem pole. I have a Master’s degree in counseling. I basically pick up all the pieces after the psychologists get done with all the weird experiments and the psychiatrists finish prescribing meds. So I was basically watching the Psychology episode in pieces ALL day when I could in between sessions. At one point I left my iPad open on the paused screen as my next client walked in and said “Oh I love that guy!” Somehow we ended up spending a very productive therapeutic hour talking about the “hello folks” and “let’s go folks” drama. She was more in favor of “hello” and I am more in favor of “let’s go.” Needless to say, I used my counseling super powers for evil not good and ended charging her for an hour of me convincing her that I am right…AND she left with no meds! Disclaimer..professionally I have to say that I am just kidding about that last part…but we did have a good hour of laughing which is fantastic therapy in itself! Thanks for the easiest hour of work I had all day!

Hello, Folks! I considered congratulating you guys on another great episode and thanking you for providing the world with so much insightful and funny content over the past year, but I know how much you dislike compliments, so I won’t. This was just the worst and I hope it’s the last. Actually, I wish I could have somehow seen this 20 years ago before I started college to avoid wasting so much time and money since you basically summarized all that I learned in this one episode. I spent a few months shy of a decade going to school off and on while working full time to support my family. After changing my major multiple times, I finally graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology only to find out it was basically useless without also getting a master’s. For the next year, while deciding whether to go back to school for another three to five years and go deeper in debt, I worked a side job as a counselor for troubled youth. That experience helped me make the right career move and I went with my backup plan, which I’m just now learning I shouldn’t have had. So now I install septic tanks for a living and help people get their “crap” together in a more concrete way. It’s far more beneficial to my community than anything I could have done as a psychologist person. Anyway, keep the laughs rolling. I’m looking forward to more episodes like this reminding me how I’ve failed at life. Let’s go, Folks!

I am a big fan of the podcast and have been listening through all the old episodes. I just finished the Clutch Performances episode and think an honorable mention is due to what has to be the most clutch thing in sport's history: James Conrad's final shot in regulation of this year's Disc Golf World Championships. I realize disc golf doesn't have the same magnitude as a major sport, but to hit that shot at the game's biggest stage deserves a shout out. The shot was so epic, I even think it is deserving of a resounding "Let's Go Folks!"

As for comedians noticing the one man in the audience who doesn’t laugh, I think that is normal. Things that are different catch the eye. I found this out one day at Sunday Mass. When the four, very old people who led the music at the side of the altar started to sing, they were unbelievably awful. They were all out of tune but somehow they all out of tune in 4 different ways. They were TERRIBLE. I felt a smile forming on my face and I tried so hard to hide it. That only made it harder so I ended up with this mile wide grin, and felt tears coming down my face. I could not have been more embarrassed when I realized the priest was staring directly at me with an angry look on his face. It was like he was silently admonishing me and saying why don’t I go up there if I could do better. That made the tears flow even harder. In the end I just cocked my head at him as if to say, “Come on, Father, we both know how terrible they are.” I don’t go to that church anymore.
